Iphone 4 - used .4 gb in one day - how?

We just got our iphone4. I'm not sure how many apps my daughter loaded first day, but already she is down to 2.6 gb remaining. We have wifi set up for the phone. What is using all her gb? We have 3gb/month. Most people I talk to say they never get close to using all. We have AT&T. Any ideas? Will syncing her i-tunes account to wifi on her phone help?

I also had this problem, but didn't start seeing it until after January 1. I attributed it initially to an iOS 5.0.1 bug that I hoped would be corrected in a future update. But over the weekend, we got an iPhone 4S for my mom and I noticed her phone did NOT have the problem. At that point, I realized the issue was somehow tied to my setup.
I tried a few things and ultimately did come up with an easy way to fix the problem that I hope will work for others. First, sync your iPhone to iTunes. Second, select your iPhone in the "Devices" list within iTunes. Click on the "Info" tab. Scroll to the "Advanced" section at the bottom and check the box for "Contacts" (yes, "Contacts" not "Calendars"). Then sync. That did it for me.
What you're doing is taking the good information from your master source and overwriting the corrupted information on the iPhone. As to why you should do "Contacts" instead of "Calendars" -- the "Birthdays" calendar that shows up on the iPhone actually comes from the birthdays listed in the Contacts data, not from the iCal calendar data.
BE SURE TO SYNC FIRST. If you don't sync before overwriting the data on the iPhone and you have made any changes to the Contacts on your iPhone, those changes would be lost.

I believe when you plug her old iPhone in to your computer it will notify you that the phone is synced with another library and ask if you want to register it with your library. At least this is how iPods work. I'm not sure about iPhones. If you want to actually use the phone as your own you may need to go through AT&T.
If you're just looking to use the iPhone as an iPod (without the phone portion of it) you may run in to some problems. The iPhone really wants to be on a cell network all the time. I think you'd have to jailbreak it to get it to work properly as an iPod.
Let us know what happens when you plug the phone in to your computer.

After updating to the latest version, I'm able to open and use the browser for one day. The next day, the browser doesn't not open up. please help!!!

-reformatted computer, reinstalled everything
-downloaded the newest version of mozilla
-happily went online for one day
-next day, browser does not load
-later the next day, browser doesn't even open up
-now when i go to open mozilla, something like this shows up:

Not a problem, Safe Mode will disable addons and hardware acceleration. If this continues and it is not an add on this will be the next step to try to disable acceleration:
Try disabling graphics hardware acceleration. Since this feature was added to Firefox, it has gradually improved, but there still are a few glitches.
You might need to restart Firefox in order for this to take effect, so save all work first (e.g., mail you are composing, online documents you're editing, etc.).
Then perform these steps:
#Open Firefox ''Options'' window (''Preferences'' on Mac or Linux) as follows:
#* In Firefox 29.0 and above, click the menu button [[Image:New Fx Menu]] and select ''Options'' for Windows or ''Preferences'' on Mac or Linux.
#* In Firefox 28.0 and previous versions, click the orange Firefox button at the top left, then select the "Options" button, or, if there is no Firefox button at the top, go to Tools > Options.

Outlook 2007 sync with iPhone & iPad: All events on device one day behind !

Dear all,
I stumbled over this recently when I started with my brand new iPad. Date/Time/Region/Timezone settings on desktop computer (win7) and iPhone and iPad are identical. Sync with Google calendar and 3rd party products on iPhone / iPad / Outlook works perfect.
Can maybe anyone shed some light on this ? iPhone calendar used to sync fine, not sure when the problem started (maybe with OS 3.1.2 ?)

It would be nice if the iPhone let you create smart albums on the fly, but it's pretty much a dumb client for iPhoto. So, you'll have to do more work in iPhoto setting up what you want to see on the iPhone.
My method--I have smart albums (eg, Rated pix from Hawaii, Rated pix from Christmas 2009) and sync those. I also sync all Rated Pix as a big album, but that's not that usable. So mine's not a very efficient method---I wind up creating lots of albums and sorting out which ones I want synced.
A workable approach for you might be to create multiple smart albums, perhaps based on date--eg, "checked photos from Jan-June 2010". Create one of those every six months and you've got some basic, easy to maintain organization.
I would actually like to see both iPhoto and iTunes have a feature--"sync my rules to the iPhone and reapply them to the big bucket of music/photos files that I've moved to the iPhone". But I doubt Apple would ever do it. But you can Send Feedback from the Help menu in iPhoto, if you like.

As you know when you submit any request throigh concurrent manager . The request completed normal or give warning or error .
My probelm I have request running for more than one day .but I don't know right tool how invetigate about this issue .
I checked alert log and database lock but nothing wierd .
We are using 11.5.10.2 with 10.2.0.4 DB .

IPhone 4S Calendar events off by one day

Just upgraded to a new iPhone 4S (on launch day) and synced with iTunes and as a "new" phone (did not restore from previous phone backup). Calendars synced from my MacBookPro without any problems... or so I thought. Just discovered that ALL my reminders and events are showing the day before they occur. Example: my mother-in-law's birthday is tomorrow but my phone tells me it is today. They are correct on my MacBookPro calendar.
Anyone know why this occurred and how I can fix it? It's very strange!

Couldn't find this so started a new discussion, with the "fix" that Tech Support helped me figure out.
(Then I discovered I could find my discussions using "My Stuff" at the top of the page. LOL)

Have uploaded my roster to the icloud calendar then synced to iphone and it is out by one day on the iphone but correct on the icloud. Any ideas?

Have loaded my roster on icloud via my windows based computer. When I look at it on my phone it is all out by a day. Checked both, not going mad. What I have entered as working on 5th Augus, shows up on 6th August on my phone. I have gone in to setting and removed icloud sync, turned phone off and then reset in settings and same things happens again. Any ideas how to fix this?

Your purchased iTunes content is already available to be downloaded to your phone, for free. Non-purchased music would require using iTunes Match. Match requires iTunes 10.5.1 or later. Read here:

Firefox is caching like crazy. Over 1.712 items for just one day of webbrowsing. It didn't used to do that.

Just for a regular webbrowsing session, I noticed Firefox is caching more and more. While there is no significant change is my webbrowsing pattern - like visiting other websites.
It gives me the feel the response of Firefox is lacking because of this.

No, she only uses mail.
I did a test myself. I reset my data counters and went on 3G and tested how mch data would be used if she accidentally opened google maps, weather, stocks, loaded a page in safari and then browsed the App store, then downloaded some emails with photos.
In total I used about 2 MB of data not 69 MB.
Of course she never used any of these apps, it was just a test to see how much data I would use.
So although apps use a fair amount of data. I've seen that you will never accidentally use 69 MB in one day and not even know it.
The only way I could think of using 69 MB would be to specifically browse to a website with a large file (video for example, or maybe a large tiff) and specifically download it.
It would seem then that if one wanted to, one could limit their data usage while roaming by not intentionally downloading any large files.
This appears not to be the case though because of this "mystery" data charge.
Rogers has a plan where they charge you $1 per MB instead of $10 per MB while roaming (it costs $10 per month plus the data charges). That seems pretty reasonable to me, as long as she didn't end up using 69 MB per day - then the charge would be $69 per day which isn't very cheap. Thats why I am afraid to use data roaming still, at least until I can explain the mystery charge.
Her email is set up as POP (her server only supports POP). Does anybody know if POP uses a lot more data than IMAP (I use IMAP and my data usage has never been 69 MB in one day).
Does POP by any chance download every attachment when checking mail, or does it only download attachments when clicking on messages.
The weird part is her entire inbox is probably less than 69 MB so even that would not explain the high usage.

Birthdays are set back one day (gmail exchange)

I am using gmail exchange for my email, contacts and calendar on my iphone. When I add a birthday to a contact the iphone (or gmail) sets the date one day before. It happens when I leave the addressbook and go back in again. Then the date is changed somehow.
Anyone know why or how to solve it?

My birthdays appear one day out in the Calendar!

I've upgraded to an iPhone 4s but my birthdays appear one day out in the Calendar!

The problem seems to be that the iCloud Time Zone overrides your iphone Time Zone.
If you are sure that your phone time zone is correct.
Start iCloud on your computer. Log in with your AppleID and Password.
Click on your name (top righthand side) in the window I suspect it will show Pacific Time in the Time Zone.
If like me you live in New Zealand click on Pacific and in the world map click on New Zealand.
Now New Zealand Standard Time should show in the Time Zone. Click done.
You will now have to change the birthdays again to the right day in Contacts in iCloud or your Phone for the last time.

There is no limit to how many iPods can run on a single PC. Or how many PCs a single iPod can connect to. Either by Apple design or by any legal issues.
