Iphone 4 video from camera ''This operation could not be completed''

Hello.
Today I filmed an important video with my camera, it is really important, and i need it to work. I was in a bit of a hurry, so i got my phone out, filmed, and the camera app freezed, then i just pressed the home button and locked the phone. Now when i try to play the video, it says ''This operation coudl not be completed'', i know its the camera app freezing the problem, but can I fix this video in any way? Please tell me there is a way

Not familiar with this camera, but here are a few questions/ideas
When you play the tape in the camera, can you see the tape settings displayed on the camera's lcd?  This may be a menu setting or a button push.  What exactly are the settings?
Was the tape shot on this camera?  Sometimes, there can be compatability problems with material shot on a different camera.  I think some cameras will playback dvcam material via the video outs but not via firewire,  Could this be the problem.  I have some memory that there may be other formats some cameras will playback via video out but not firewire.
Hope this is of some help.

  • This Operation Could Not Be Completed...No Video

So I'm getting this error message "This Operation Could Not Be Completed...No Video" when trying to Log and Capture some footage from a mini DV tape.
I've tried this on my Macbook Pro, 10.5.8, Final Cut 7
I've tried this on my Powerbook G4, 10.4.11 Final Cut 5
I've tried to capture the footage directly into both machines and via external drives.
My deck is a Sony PD170. After getting this message I tried another tape on both machines. No problem capturing this footage. This tells me it is not a firewire issue.
Is it possible that this is a tape/capture setting I'm missing? I've used every NTSC setting possible.

  • This operation could not be completed as there is no video - capturing PAL

Ok, I tried all the suggestions I've seen here. I have a Sony FX-1000 and I'm trying to capture a PAL mini-DV tape (which is easily read and played on this camcorder) using Final Cut Pro - latest version. The connection is iLink / Firewire 800 and has been used to capture many NTSC videos in the past. I have tried all settings on Final Cut Pro - under Capture Settings - to no avail.
In all cases, "Preview Disabled" is displayed in the color-bar window. However, the playback controls (rewind, play, ff) all work fine using the buttons under the window. The miniDV plays fine on the camcorder - both picture and sound.
After starting the playback, and pressing "Capture Now", I get a solid black window indicating that the capture software is "waiting for timecode", even with the tape obviously playing. After about 2-5 seconds, I receive the error message "This operation could not be completed as there is no video".
I've tried several computers, several cables (both Firewire 400 and 800) - as well as all the PAL settings and FC Pro and FC Express 4.0. So, any suggestions? I could use some help.
    Thanks

Solved the problem. I used an old Sony Handycam DCR-HC28 with Firewire connection and used Final Cut Express with the settings: PAL, DV-PAL DV Converter in Easy Setup.
I was NOT able to control the Handycam with this setting but I could start the capture and then press "play" on the Handycam and it captured. Strange way to solve the problem. Hope this helps someone.
BTW - the HDV FX-1000 did not work this way. I guess the cheap camcorder works better at this!
Thanks to all for the help!

  • This Operation Could Not Be Completed

    Hey guys,
I work for the Dallas Cowboys as their multimedia coordinator. I've been having this problem for some time, but after months of frustration I think it's finally time to ask for some help.
Basically, on a very inconsistant basis, an uploaded videos mobile component (mp4) file won't work on my iphone when I test it. I currently have one video doing just that. Here is the link to our mobile multimedia page.
    http://www.dallascowboys.com/multimedia/mobile_multimedia_center.cfm?id=3770C765 -CA7A-8B74-A8D0D5A4DFFC1422
The mp4 will work on on a browser, but gives me the error "This operation could not be completed" when trying to view it on my iphone.
The only common issue I can see in files with this issue is that they tend to be the videos with more production value. I generally encode these files in Adobe Media Encoder, but have also tried them in compresser with no luck.
    Any ideas?

Are you processing on the CPU or the GPU? What graphics card are you using? Do you have the latest graphics driver for your graphics card? How much RAM is in your machine? Are you running 32-bit or 64-bit Photoshop? What size images are you processing?

  • Help! HDMI adapter sometimes works, sometimes not. "This operation could not be completed."

    Hi,
I bought an HDMI adapter/cable, and I have trouble playing iTunes-purchased videos when connected to my iPad 2. 90% of the time, I'll plug it in and see my iPad mirrored exactly on the TV. But when I try to play an iTunes TV show, the video screen will close and display: "This operation could not be completed." I can play non-iTunes videos and shows just fine on the TV, though, so I know it's not really a problem with the adapter/cable.
I fiddled around with it, and 10% of the time the iTunes TV shows magically start displaying on the TV. If someone walks by and accidentally unplugs the cord, though, it'll stop playing iTunes purchases when I plug it back in. I have no idea what actions or combination of actions cause the iPad 2 to suddenly play the videos.
I've tried everything. Restarting the iPad 2 with the adapter in, restarting the iPad 2 with the adapter unplugged, changing cable positions, etc.
I even tried to swap out the HDMI cable, but the same thing happens with another brand new HDMI cable. Funnily enough, my iPhone 4s plays ALL purchased TV shows fine on the TV without a single hiccup. My iPhone 4s and HDMI adapter/cable get along really well . This problem is specific to my iPad 2.
Any clue how to remedy this? Thanks!

I see no one has addressed this issue. I'm having the same problem but no one seems to have an answer. Did you ever get this issue resolved Joe?

  • Error 8062 when I try to copy or move files on my macbook: "This operation could not be completed because an unexpected error occurred (error code -8062)". Can even not install new software now!!

Since a few days when I try to copy or move files on my macbook, I often get an error message saying "This operation could not be completed because an unexpected error occured (error code -8062)". And then it just quits the copy or move.
I searched a lot on the internet, but only found solutions for cases you cannot empty the trash due to this issue.
I tried those solutions for my trash and that helped after some trying.
However, I still have the problem with copying and moving files.
I even cannot install new software now, as it has to copy itself to the programs-directory, and gives the same error-message.
    Who can help me??
Cannot seem to find any info on it on the support-forums or elsewhere.
    My user-account is administrator, I use a 13" Macbook Aluminium (Late 2008). Mac OS X 10.6.8 CPU 2Ghz Intel Core Duo, RAM: 4GB 1067 MHz DDR3.
Any help would be greatly appreciated...

Tips I received so far (thanks to A-Mac via Twitter http://www.a-mac.nl and Remco Kalf http://www.remcokalf.nl/)
    - make sure you have at least 10% of your harddisk in free space (I had only 5%).
    - do a PRAM-reset (http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1379)
    - perform a hardware test (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1509)
    - make a complete backup (with for example Carbone Clone Copier, see http://www.bombich.com/)
    - after complete backup: use diskwarrior (boot from Diskwarrior DVD, first perform diagnostics, then perform "Rebuild" which rebuilds your file directory).
So far I only cleared up some space on my HD, and already the problem occurs less.
Still, I will go through the other tips too.
    (will post progress)

  • Capture error-"this operation could not be completed as there is no video"

    Help!!
Project Due to client very soon. I've got my XL2 hooked up to my mac and capture was fine until the above(subject) error message popped up. All connections are tight, and I've tried changing, switching and trashing preferences. I spent a 100 bucks for 15 minutes of support from some FCP support company, there solution was temporary. They had me Turn off the G5, and disconnect everything. Upon restart capture worked for about 10 more minutes then error message popped up. Don't know what else to do, don't want to spend a 100 more dollars?
    Help!!!!

Canon cameras are notorious for not behaving if you have any other FW Devices working on the System - this includes External Hard Drives.
Try removing any other FW devices - then re-setting the FW Bus as Jerry suggested. THEN connect up your camera and turn it on (VTR mode) - THEN start your Mac.
Don't pay anyone for support - it's all here - for free!
    Good luck,

  • Capture Error- Operation could not be completed as there is no video.

Hi. I'm using Final Cut Express HD 3.5.1 and I seem to have a problem importing video. I successfully imported one DV tape (out of several for a film project I'm working on) using the DV-NTSC Easy Setup.
I use a Canon Optura 40 camera connected via a Fire Wire 400 cable. The cord runs straight from the camera (where it has a 4-pin connector) to the computer. As a longtime iMovie user I followed all the proper procedures - the camera is in VTR mode the tape is ready to go.
Now, Device Control says "VTR" OK and the playback controls in the program actually control the tape. Everything seems right so far. But when I click "Capture Now" in FCEHD it says, "This operation could not be completed as there is no video." What's more is that FCE freezes up (processing cursor) until I take the camera out of VTR mode.
Apple reccomends using the Fire Wire Basic Easy Setup. I've tried that. It still doesn't work.
Another curios note - iMovie seems to have the same problem, which I've never encountered until I've tried to use the camera with this computer - I'm running on a recently purchased MacBook Pro (2.33 GHz, 2 GB RAM) off of an external hard drive (G-Drive 7200 RPM 500 GB).
    I am stumped.
    Can anyone lend a hand?

So, I tried sending the camera into the FireWire 400 Port on the back of my external HD and I still got the same problem in FCE.
Here's what's really interesting - it will import into iMovie with the new setup.
Whenever my camera is in VTR mode and the Capture Screen is even just OPEN in FCE, the computer freezes until I take the camera out of VTR mode.
I'm really stumped. If I would have to install new components inside of my laptop I might just vie for loading the footage into iMovie and transferring it (if there's no loss of quality. Is there?) but I'm still hopeful for a simple solution to getting FCE to recognize the camera.
I can't really load the footage into my Mac's HD because it's not big enough. I have a video project with about 12 DV tapes of footage, and my internal HD definetely couldn't hold that.

  • FCP 7.0.3 Canon GL2 Operation could not be completed...no video

    Having a problem with FCP version 7.0.3, on a MacPro1,1 (2007 2x dual-core Xeon 2.66GHz, 2GB RAM) running Mac OS X 10.6.8 and Canon DM GL2 connected via Firewire.
These used to work together in the past, but not now.
What's changed: ran out of space on original HDD, installed fresh OS X 10.6.8 on larger HDD then used Migration Assistant to migrate user account and settings and applications including FCP7 and rest of the Final Cut Suite 3.0. FC suite then was uninstalled and re-installed. Still have the original HDD and same problem exists on it as well as on the new install. Same problem also exists when switching to a newly created user account that had never used FCP.
Have used the recommended setting of "DV-NTSC Firewire Basic" for this Canon DM GL2 camera (from Final Cut Pro 7.0.3 Supported Cameras web page)
When I select "Log and Capture" from the File menu, the new windows open, the color bars show in the preview area but "preview disabled" shows in a black bar across the color bars. I see [VTR OK] below the buttons that control the tape movement, click the Play button, the LCD screen on the camera starts to show the tape playback for about 5 seconds, the place where the video SHOULD show up just has Final Cut Pro and an Apple logo and "Waiting for Timecode" in the silver area benath the black region, and the spinning beachball is rotating for a few seconds before the error message appears: "This operation could not be completed as there is no video. [OK]".
Several weeks ago, this used to work on the old HDD, but since then the new OS was installed on a larger HDD and this problem has surfaaced. Problem also exists on the OLD HDD at this time as well.
How can this issue best be resolved? Any suggestions will be greatly applreciated

I have three GL-2s and see this issue from time-to-time...  the good news is it's probably not your system or the hard drive; I had it on my G5 dualie (Tiger) and I have it on my 8x 3.2GHz Mac Pro (Snow Leopard) and it also occurs when I use a JVC deck, so it's probably not the camera either.
Over time, my work-around has distilled down to repairing permissions (just in case...) and removing and re-plugging the firewire connection. This seems to "jump start" the connection and gets things rolling again. I have no solid technical explanation but it's similar to what we've always done to re-establish a firewire connection if the device has been dismounted. I expect that it's rooted in the hot-pluggable attribute of firewire.
    Hope this helps

  • The operation could not be completed

This messagqe appears when trying to view videos in YouTube. No videos will run. I updated to OS5 some days ago, and YouTube worked nicely...

    Hello
I also have this problem on my iPad2. The Ubuntu laptop and my old android phone plays videos just fine but when I try to play videos using the YouTube app on the 5.1 iPad 2 gives this "operation could not be completed" error. I am using the Internet connection available here at a guesthouse where I will stay for some months probably so I am not able to change router settings fo a network available to dozens of people over here. Since my old android device plays videos just fine using the default YouTube app without special settings required in router network configuration shouldn't this be a iPad issue?
Do you have an idea how I could play videos on the iPad since it would be more convenient due to the larger screen?
