Iphone 4 video library

while I try to import new video to my iphone play list earliar videosin the play list get deleted aotomatically pl. explain why ?

Welcome to the Apple Community.
Intermittent problems are often a result of interference. Interference can be caused by other networks in the neighbourhood or from household electrical items.
You can download and install iStumbler (NetStumbler for windows users) to help you see which channels are used by neighbouring networks so that you can avoid them, but iStumbler will not see household items.
Refer to your router manual for instructions on changing your wifi channel.
There are other types of problems that can affect networks, but this is by far the most common, hence worth mentioning first.

  • Can a video airdropped to an iPhone be moved to the video library?

I Airdropped a video from my iMac to my iPhone. The video appears in my photo library. Is it possible to move it to my video library?

    Unlikely...
What if I purchase a device that is still linked to the previous owner's account?
Contact the previous owner as soon as possible and ask them to erase the device and remove it from their account. For complete instructions, read how to remove a device from a previous owner's account.

  • What's the best way to import and manage iPhone video?

I don't really want to use iPhoto for importing video - it doesn't seem like it's built with that in mind even though it's the default option for importing both photos and videos. It doesn't have very good (if any) options for filtering just videos or just photos, either when viewing or importing. And I don't want to have videos all jumbled in with photos in my iPhoto library.
I also don't really want to use iMovie every time I want to import videos. I know it's designed for video, but it's far more of an editing app than a management app and I don't want to be editing all my videos or loading up iMovie just to browse them.
I considered Clipstart but it commits a cardinal sin when it renames all my videos in the Finder to a sequential numbering that begins at 01.mov for each new day, creating hundreds and thousands of identically titled movies in the video library, albeit in their own folders, but chaos if you want to search in Spotlight or anything.
So I'm left with Image Capture, which gives me complete control of what I import and where it goes. The problem is that it too doesn't offer a filter for seeing just the videos or just the photos on my iPhone. My photos are all being imported automatically by Photostream so I only want to grab the videos. If I set 'view by width' it seperates out the videos because they have no width tag, but then they aren't displayed by date order so I can't easily find the new videos I've not imported before.
    So... what do you do?

That's exactly the sort of crafty workaround I like. I didn't know they were all tagged, but that would definitely work. I'd still love a dedicated app that did it really well, or more love given to that side of things in iPhoto. iMovie is too hefty for just managing them.
Is iPhoto properly built to handle management of iPhone video, by the way? I didn't want to use it because it didn't seem like it was, and also because I sync my iPhoto library with Dropbox and video would more than treble the size of the library so I manage it from the Finder mostly, importing clips to iMovie if I do want to edit something (rarely).

  • IPhone video H.264 will not play in iPhoto '11 Slideshow

    Hello,
I use iPhoto to organize videos and .jpgs; I take videos both with a Sony camera and my iPhone. I often trim videos in iPhoto and then play them as part of a Event or Album, along with .jpgs, using the SlideShow feature before moving on to iMovie or Keynote. Recently I have encountered difficulties with iPhone H.264 videos, particularly in vertical format -- they simply won't play in the iPhoto simple SlideShow and lock it up (a simple X then ends the SlideShow and iPhoto is no longer locked). The vertical iPhone videos work in iMovie if I simply move them there. I have not detected any problems with the Sony videos, which are invariably horizontal. I am not experiencing any other iPhoto issues although my library is >125GB.
         Any Suggestions?
        Thanks for your thoughts.

After I realized I could not determine the frame rate (to respond to your post), out of frustration I went back, restored the most troublesome video to original, closed iPhoto, re-opened iPhoto, re-trimed the troublesome video, and .... yep, you guessed it .... it worked fine. It had to be something in the trim process.
I haven't taken time to check the others that were problematic, but I'm confident that was the problem.
@#% how much of my time; how much of your time.....but, still far better than the years I spent watching a rotating hourglass.
Thanks for your interest, your offer to help, and my best to you. (And, my apologies for failing to include the accent grave in your name previously.

  • Upload iphone video to windows power point

    i have quick time 7
    windows vista
    iphone 4
i need to upload iphone video to my pc then into microsoft power point presentation

Photos captured by your iPhone or photos that are available in your iPhone's camera roll (a photo saved from a received email or from a website is also stored in your iPhone's camera roll) are not included with the iTunes sync process except for being included with your iPhone's backup, which is created and maintained by iTunes.
You can transfer photos from your computer to your iPhone via the iTunes sync process, and the sync process for such photos is a one way transfer process only - from your computer to your iPhone. Photos transferred from your computer to your iPhone via the iTunes sync process are stored in your iPhone's Photo Library, which cannot be imported by your computer.
Do you have another digital camera and if so, have you imported photos by your computer that were captured by this digital camera?
I believe Windows includes a camera and scanner wizard for importing photos from a digital camera. When your iPhone includes photos in the camera roll, it is also detected as a digital camera when connected to your computer.

  • Where are my iPhone videos ?

I recently imported all my iPhone  photo library using iPhoto however, I cant seem to find any of my videos no more. Is it Apple thad dumb to delete all my videos and store just the pictures ?
I looked everywhere on my iPhone and I can't find the videos taken over many years.
Please help, I recently switched to Mac and I must say that this would be a great disappointment.   Regards

iPhoto will also import movies from the iPhone. When I connect my iPhone to my iMac iPhoto displays the new items, photos and movies that are on the phone, and I can either manually drag those items I want onto the Photos icon in the left hand pane to import them or use the button to do it automatically.

  • Iphone video file compatibility checker?

I have a bunch of video files in mp4 and m4v in a folder. Some copy to my iphone when added to my itunes library, others don't with the error FILE CAN NOT BE PLAYED ON THIS IPHONE. Usually the format for non compatible iphone video files was created for appletv device , but its hard to tell which files will play on the iphone, quick and easily. I was wondering if there was a simple iphone video compatibility checker. Like looking at video files listed in a folder directory, where it displays whether or not a video file is iphone compatible?
If no such file checker exists, it sure would be nice to have such a file checker to look at a batch or folder of files at one time, and easily check iphone compatibility. (hint hint programmers)

It appears to me that the only reason cpu speed, would impact play back is that iTunes has designed this effect into the files.
No, they didn't, at least not as part of some sort of deliberate effort to get you to upgrade. Videos and movies from the iTunes Store are encoded with the new H.264 codec. This codec can yield much better quality at a lower file size than can other video codecs such as the most common MPEG-2, but decoding H.264 takes more processing power. Hence the minimum CPU requirement; it just takes that fast a system to decode the content smoothly. In some cases with a system with close specs, you may be able to get adequate playback if all other applications and processes are shut down (as with iTunes vs. QuickTime; iTunes takes up a bit more of the processor for it's other functions), but it's always going to be iffy if you're right at the edge of the system requirements.
You're going to see this sort of thing on any computer system; better quality video requires higher-power systems, no matter what platform you're running on (Windows Media Player recommends 1.5Ghz).

  • 40gb vs 160gb - creating a video library on external hard drive

I'm considering buying an Apple TV and want to make sure it accomplishes what I want before I do. If so, I'm wondering if I should buy a 40gb version or the 160gb.
Ultimately, what I'd like to do is put my entire video library onto an external hard drive. I don't want to deal with physical DVDs any longer. I know how to convert my home movie DVDs and get them into iTunes so that isn't an issue (although I know it'll take time).
I currently have 1 iTunes library that I connect to with my iMac and my MacBook Pro. The library is on an external hard drive. Can I connect an AppleTV to this external harddrive where the existing iTunes library is?
If this is possible, is the larger 160gb hard drive necessary? My thought is if I keep my iTunes library on an external harddrive, I wouldn't need the larger capacity AppleTV?
I appreciate input from others that may have done this. Thanks!

Can I connect an AppleTV to this external harddrive where the existing iTunes library is?
No. Your TV device is connected either via your wireless 802.11 a/b/g/n network or via your 10/100 base-T wired network. As long as the TV can communicate with iTunes and iTunes knows where your library is located, the data will be sent to the device for viewing. I currently am using a 1 TB LaCie drive for my iTunes library but as I have almost reached full capacity for just my standard definition files, will be switching to a 2 TB as soon as it arrives. The only advantage for having a large internal TV drive is that you can watch your movies with your computer/iTunes turned off. Since my computer is on all day anyway working to convert my video library for use with Front Row/iTunes management of iPhone/iPod/TV files, I have no problem viewing my content exclusively in the "streaming" mode.

  • Weird iPhone 11, itunes and iPhone 4 behaviour with iPhone videos

I have a smart album in my iPhone 11 library of all the videos . THere are 65 videos in it. some were taken with my nikon cool pix L6, some with my Canon sx 210IS, a few with my iPhone 3g with apps that are allowed to take videos, and one in particular with my iPhone 4. now, when i sync my iPhone 4 with itunes, itunes only calculates there to be 53 videos in this smart album. whats worse it it actually syncs only one to the iPhone 4. thats the one that i took with the iPhone 4 itself. no other videos show up. no even if the original event containing it is synced. 'include videos' is checked. i unchecked photo sync and re synced them again like twice but the exact same problem re appears. any help?

i searched the forums. sorry, i should had before. i realised others are having similar issue but there doesn't seem to be any resolution.

  • Iphone video player

Sir, I needed an iphone video player for easygoing use.please help me...

    Hi masum.9,
Welcome to the Support Communities!  Are you asking how to play videos that you've recorded on your iPhone or video attachments you've saved from Messages or Mail?  The videos and photos stored on your iPhone are accessed from the Photos app.
View photos and videos - iPhone
    http://help.apple.com/iphone/8/#/iph3d267610
    View photos and videos
The Photos app lets you view the photos and videos:
    Taken with Camera on iPhone
Stored in iCloud (see iCloud Photo Library beta)
Shared from others (see iCloud Photo Sharing)
Synced from your computer (see Sync with iTunes)
Saved from an email, text message, webpage, or screenshot
The Photos app includes tabs for Photos, Shared, and Albums.
Tap Photos to see all your photos and videos, organized by Years, Collections, and Moments. To quickly browse the photos in a collection or year, touch and hold for a moment, then drag.
Tap Shared to see photos and videos you’ve shared with others or that others have shared with you. See iCloud Photo Sharing.
Tap Albums to see how photos and videos are organized into albums on your iPhone. See Organize photos and videos.
View all your photos and videos. By default, Photos displays a representative subset of your photos when you view by year or by collection. To see all your photos and videos, go to Settings > Photos & Camera, then turn off Summarize Photos.
View by location. While viewing by year or by collection, tap . Photos and videos that include location information appear on a map, showing where they were taken.
While viewing a photo or video, tap to show and hide the controls. Swipe left or right to go forward or backward.
Search photos. From Albums or Photos, tap to search by date (month and year), or place (city and state). Search also keeps your Recent Searches on hand and gives you a list of suggested searches.
Zoom in or out. Double-tap, or pinch and spread a photo. When you zoom in, you can drag to see other parts of the photo.
Play a video. Tap . To toggle between full screen and fit-to-screen, double-tap the display.
Play a slideshow. While viewing a photo, tap , then tap Slideshow. Select options, then tap Start Slideshow. To stop the slideshow, tap the screen. To set other slideshow options, go to Settings > Photos & Camera.
To stream a slideshow or video to a TV, see AirPlay.
    Enjoy!

  • IPhone video not working after updating

after updating my iphoto and my whole library, Whenever i open an imported iphone video i get this message
"A necessary data reference could not be resolved."
Note: only the old iPhone video before updating is not working
    please help

The first time I used Migration Assistant. The second time I copied all the videos from the old computer to the new one by way of an external hard drive. Still not playing.
Interestingly...when I, on a hunch, re-copied some of the videos back unto the old computer, it couldn't play them (it can still play the original ones, though).
So it seems that iPhoto 11 is doing something to them, though I only get the error message ("A necessary data reference could not be resolved.") on 11. On iPhoto 09, it just simply refuses to play them.

Replying to my own post - heh. I downloaded iExplorer (http://www.macroplant.com/iexplorer/) which allowed me access to the files on the phone and there was the phantom movie in the DCIM folder. Deleted it, and all is well - although I still have 0.65gb of Other in iTunes.....

  • I'm using Windows 8.  I have 2 folders in my videos library - movies and personal videos.  When I try to import a movie into iTunes, it puts it in the Home Video section and if I import a personal video, it puts it into the home video section.  what up?

Im using Win8.  I originally had all my ripped movies in a movie folder listed in the videos library.  This imported into iTunes movies with no issue.  I later added a second folder t my library - personal videos where i put all my home videos.  I was able to import this into iTunes and it showed up in "Home Movies" - very cool and exactly what I wanted.  Now, if I add a new ripped movie and put it in my movie librairy and try to import it into iTunes, it places it in Home Movies.  And if I put a new personal video, it will also import into iTunes under 'Home Video?.  What is going on here??  Any help would be greatly appreciated - it seems like this is a bug in iTunes 11.

I thank you for the response.  Apple does some assinine things sometimes and this is one of them.  Ask the planet the difference between a movie and a home video and with the exception of Apple, you'd get 100% consenus on the what difference is.  A home video is something that I shoot, like my kids birthday party.  A movie is something I urchased either via download or a DVD that I ripped.  Unbelievable!   The fact that Apple has chosen not to distinguish based upon which folder I tell it is Movies and which folder is Home Videos is really hard to fathom - sounds like something Windows would do. I find it funny that in my iTunes movies sub-section of the movies section, the movie icons have a cloud icon in upper right corner to distinguish it as bought from Apple iTunes versus no cloud icon for movies that I have ripped - so the distintion was already made and clearly visible.  Now - everything just defaults to "home videos" if I try to import a new ripped DVD - why even bother to have this distinction on the iTunes bar?  WOW!
As for your direction, I do not understand what you are telling me - what Media Kind and what Options tab are you referring to?  I see no Options tab in iTunes.  Right licking on the movie icon does not yield media kind or options as well.  Gping to the source file does not yield these options either.
    Thanks again for your help.

  • Pre Lion iPhone videos show Thumbnail but can't play - new video generates Unsupported Video Format popup, no thumb but will play via quicktime

    This is really frustrating -
Over the last year I have been uploading all of my photos and occasional iPhone video to Aperture 3 (latest version all patches in place).    Aperture would recognize the video, create a thumbnale and otherwise treat it nicely.
Now, since upgrading to Lion I find that though I can "see" the old videos in their folders or projects and the associated Thunbnale, I can't play them - I either get the spinning color wheel and then nothing or Aperture will crash and report an error relating to Quicktime (sorry don't have an error code at the moment).
If I try and export a video I can - but what I get also can't be played by Quicktime - just a black screen.  When I hit Play - the scroll bar moves, but there is no sound or video.
From Final Cut Pro X, I can imoprt this exported video file and see that it appears complete - but FCPX uses it's own playback elements.
If I shoot a new video on my iPhone, I find that I can see the thumbnale in the import option of Aperture when looking at the phone, but once imported I get a Popup telling me that it is an "Unsupported Video Format" - "Do you want to open this video clip with QuickTIme Player?"   If I hit Open then the clip does play, but the thumbnale remains a black square with the warning Exclamation Point.
I have also had some issues with Lion Mail crashing when trying to play a video made on an iPhone and sent to me via email.   Seems more likley to be a Lion / Quicktime issue then an Aperture and Mail issue - but who knows.
I spent 2.5 hours of quality time with the Genius bar this morning.  We reinstalled Lion and after that the suggestion was to trash and re-install Aperture, but that would require my disc and of coruse a trip home.   Mail doesn't seem to still have the issues with iPhone movies that it had - but Aperture is still not happy.
Did as instructed and dragged Aperture 3 to the trash, did the empty trash option, restarted and reinstalled.   Then did a software update to catch the new update for Aperture and it found that.   Interestingly when I did start it up after that it DID NOT ask me for my key - so clearly some elements were left over.
Now upon retstarting Aperture 3 once again I find that I can still see my old movies (their thumbnails show up) but I still can't play them.   The new test movie is there but still generates the popup regarding it being an Unsupported Video Format.
And it's not just my iPhone.   Video sent via email from another iPhone can play as an attachment, or when dragged and dropped to the desktop, but once imported into Aperture is once again proclaimed to be an Unsupported Video Format.
Hoping someone out there knows how to resolve this....

For some reason it just started to work now. Have no idea what didn't work before.
