IPhone 4 w/ iOS 5 music player help!

Hey, my iPhone 4 was just equipped with iOS 5 a week ago, and ever since, about half of all my music just refuses to play. A ton of my music has also lost the ablum artwork. When I try to play some music, it doesnt give an error or anything. What happens is when I select a song that wornt work, if I just select it from a menu, it just goes to the song for a second, nothing happens, then it goes back to the menu. If I reach a song that doesnt work in shuffle, then it just plays the next song on shuffle, but under the same name as the corrupted song and the same time. When I go into iTunes on my computer, and I check my music on my iPhone and computer, none of the tracks are corrupted. PLEASE HELP!

I had the same issue within the first week after i bought my iphone 4s..
The problem seems to be triggered after my battery drains and my phone restarts.
You can try:
A.) Go to Settings> General> Reset> Reset All Settings (it wont delete any data so dont worry)
After reset, you'll be on the set-up screen again. Just do your preferred settings and set up accounts if you wish to do so.
.....This worked for me once.
But then after another battery drain> phone shuts off> restart ....the phone doesn't have signal again. So i tried the previous process which is having to reset all settings, but to no avail.
So....
I went to the store where i bought my phone. They replaced my sim card, and the phone's signal problem has been solved. They told me that it was just an isolated case of a "bad batch" of sim cards 'coz every customer that bought a unit the same day i bought mine had the same probem.

How do I hide the artist picture in ios 7 music player?

I like the artist and album "list view" in the ios 6 music player much better than the view that includes a random picture on ios 7. How do I hide the picture and get my list view back?

Just to clarify the behavior I'm experiencing on my iPhone 5, I can get new updates but the old ones appear with the Open button and don't clear themselves out from the Update screen.

Hello everyone, I am having the exact same issue. My charger stopped working following 7.0.3 upgrade. I since bought couple more charger (must admit one was definately counterfiet; and the other one what I believe to be genuine purchased from ebay). I even tried my friend's genuine apple charger that came with his 5s which is also not working.

How can I stop my iPhone 5 from starting the music player randomly on its own?

I have an iPhone 5 running the latest version of iOS. Sometime last year (maybe shortly after I originally upgraded to iOS 7), the phone developed a nasty habit of starting up the music player during phone conversations when I connected to my Mazda's Bluetooth system. Oddly enough, I can hear the music playing over the phone conversation but the person on the other end of the phone line can't. To stop the music, I have to open the Music App and then close the App. Note that the Music App did NOT have to be previously open for the music to start, and the Music App doesn't usually show as an open App even after the music starts on its own. The problem has persisted through the last few iOS updates and it now happens in a broader range of circumstances (e.g., I have told the iPhone to forget the Mazda adapter, and it now does the same thing with my Plantronics Voyager Bluetooth headset). I usually have to go through this sequence at least twice per Bluetooth pairing session before the phone stops trying to start the music player on its own during phone calls.
The problem went away temporarily when I did a full reset of the phone, but it came back after a few days (even when I added apps & music back without restoring from an iOS backup).
Has anyone found a way to fix this problem once and for all? If I can find a fix, it's enough of an annoyance that it might convince me to go Android with my next phone. Thanks in advance...

I've tried syncing with itunes and icloud. The missing contacts are nowhere to be found. I just re-enter them on my iphone and proceed on my not so merry way. Next time I look for a contact, it might be there or it might not. It is not necessarily the same contact. It appears that my oldest contacts seem to be the ones disappearing

Can I use the Podcast app like the older iOS 6 Music Player?

I've updated to iOS 7 and iTunes 11.1 and found that things seem drastically different.
How i used to do podcasts:
Subscribe to a podcast in iTunes on my Mac
Sync to iPhone using a cable
What used to happen:
Podcasts that were selected to sync did if there were unplayed episodes
The Music player would list only those podcasts where there were unplayed episodes
Now things have changed. I immediately was told that none of my podcasts were playable without the Podcast app. I downloaded it and installed it.
What is happening now:
Still subscribing to a podcast in iTunes on my Mac
Sync to iPhone using a cable
Podcasts showing unplayed in iTunes on my Mac = 46
Podcasts showing unplayed in the Podcast app = 57 - the difference appears to be that the podcast app is showing non-downloaded podcasts
Podcast app showing all podcasts whether or not there are any to play. The list includes podcasts that are not supposed to sync to my phone.
The Podcast listing appears to be in a random order (actual list shown)-
Apple Keynotes (no episodes)
This week in Photo (8 episodes)
Jake and Amir (no episodes)
Podcast Beyond (no episodes)
Accidental Tech Podcast (no episodes)
Vector (1 episode)
Podcasts with no new episodes now show a new episode though it looks like the episode is not downloaded
I'm not sure why what is being shown in iTunes is not being shown in the Podcast app.
Is there anyway to get the old behavior using the Podcast app?

Additional information. Can this be right?
I spoke to Apple support who said that the settings for podcast syncing in iTunes are no longer being used since Apple moved to their Podcast app.
This may explain why I see all 45 podcasts on my iphone when I only have 15 of them set to sync.
She also said that I would need to manually sync listened/unlistened podcasts between my Mac and my mobile devices since podcasts were no longer being synced from iTunes.
Can anyone verify?

How can I use ios internal music player for playing music?

I know how to play MP3s using Adobe Air, but I have no idea how can I possibly use the INTERNAL MUSIC PLAYER of iOS with Adobe Air? Is tha possible? Is there any native extentions for this purpose or some codes??

Actually I have no experience with Native extensions so far, even while I've developed some apps for Android and iOS using Adobe Flash CS6, that they happen all to have sound players as well.
The problem is, in my Apps (sample below) I have programmed the ability to let users Play / Pause / Stop (Navigate) the MP3s that will be downloaded from Internet based on their selection. as this player is NOT using the iOS native player, consequently, the main negative results are as follows:
- App does not catch downloaded mp3 files for offline use or if WIFI disconnected suddenly (unlike iOS player)
- in Lock screen, Users do not have access to the playback of sound.
- wireless FM transmitters or other kits used in cars, can not control the playback unlike iOS internal player.
Based on above discussion and your suggestion to use Native extentions, I just found this one:

The music player stopped working before due to too many messages and a lack of memory but that can't be the problem this time as i have deleted all messages on my phone, if anyone has any ideas they will be very welcome

6220 Music Player help!!

I have just transferred songs from my computer to the memory card in my phone. How do I now add these to my music player. When I go into my music player it says the only songs in there are the three that came on the phone..

N91 music player help!

help! my music files are nowhere to be found in my n91 music player. although i can see my music files in the media gallery. how do i fix this problem?!
i have tried reformatting my phone but to no avail. =(

Question 1: Did you reformat your HDD (full format) and then copy the music back as part of the sw update? If not you may need to do that.
Question 2: Assuming you did format etc then were there any interruptions in USB data transfer to the device. USB can cause issues (like with memory sticks) if it is interrupted. (not just by cables being pulled out but by PCs that have drivers that do not handle low CPU allocation). This could have screwed up certain files on transfer.
Question 3: What but rate are your songs ripped at. In the FAQ somewhere I believe it mentins that ripping MP3s above 256 Kbps rate can cause be an issue.
Note the reason I believe why the N91 and many MP3 players pause (when a PC doesnt) is if an MP3 file has many errors I believe the PC keeps buffering until the error is corrected (ie they ahve enough data to reconstruct the song - you may hear a skip but no pause). Small devices can only let that go so far before they have to stop.
So that is why corrupted songs may play on the PC but not on smaller devices.

Nokia 2330 music player help please...

Just purchased this phone, and user guide has no info on how to download to the media player! I had hoped the PC suite would be able to be downloaded to use bluetooth, but the phone is not listed as one that is compatable with that software?! Anyone able to advise on how I'm suppose to be able to use this feature or if it is usable with the PC software?????

Hmm. I don't have this model...so what I'm suggesting is a best guess based on the fairly simple phone model you have there:
Well first, you'll need to convert any mp3 files you have into a mobile optimised format (AAC) as your phone isn't intended to play mp3 music and there's not a whole of space for music.
Next use the Nokia Suite and connect your phone via BT.
Then, go to file manager on Nokia Suite > Locate the converted music > Copy and paste/Drag and drop the file into your phone (Nokia Phone Browser > Nokia 2330 > C: ...there should be some folder for music there...)
Then go to your music player and try to check if it's there?
The other options are:
1. to purchase music from online, but be careful what you buy because there's a lot of MP3 mobile music which is NOT for your phone.
2. get a friend who has .aac format music files and have him/her bluetooth it to your phone...
Do let me know if any of this has helped. If not, please indicate what you have tried.

Lumia 920 - Music Player HELP!

After being forced to wait until YESTERDAY I finally received my Lumia 920 and I'm slightly disappointed with the music player.
I've been a Nokia user since the N95, moving onto the N96, N8 and now finally the 920. The N-series were choc full of bugs and shortcomings but the music player on all of them worked exactly as I would have liked.
So I have a few questions re the music player on the 920
Is there a way of pinning the "Now Playing" controls to the start? Instead of having to navigate through Nokia music, waiting for it to load, tapping my music, finding the artist and album and song just to skip a track?
I know you can access some controls by locking the screen and re-pressing the lock button but this seems like a ridiculously convoluted way round for such a fundamental control.
I essentailly want direct control of my music from the start screen.
If this isn't possible with the default player can anyone recommend a decent third party app?

The volume shortcut helps but I cannot find an option to actually stop the songs from playing. I have to press the pause button and come out of the music player to stop it playing. Surely there must be a 'Stop' option somewhere.

Will the person who has taken my iPhone be able to break in and have access to my details on my iPhone 4S that has been taken. Is there a way to erase my data. This is my first time that I''ve lost my iPhone 4S. I didn't install Find my iPhone on to my 4S, Is there another way that I could track it down?

Find my iPhone feature is built into the iPhone. You just needed to turn it on from Settings.
If you did not do this, then you cannot track it or wipe it.

HT204204 I cannot update my iPhone 6 to iOS 8.3. Help!

I'be been trying to update my iPhone 6 to iOS 8.3 but It always says " Unable to install update an error occurred installing iOS 8.3". I wasn't able to update my phone with the ios 8.2 as well as iOS 8.1.3 when it went out as well, it said the same error. So I waited till the new update arrives which is ios 8.3, but yeah still the same error message. So still I'm stuck with iOS 8.1.2 .

Hi - I have resolved my problem with the iPhone 6, 8.3 IOS update. I went to the local Apple store and they replaced my iPhone with a new one.. I was very lucky that I attempted to do the 8.3 update via iTunes, as this undertakes an automatic back up before attempting to do the new update install. Thus, did not loose any of my information on the iPhone - only lost a day trying to sort out problem, get appointment at Apple store and then update new iPhone. From now on will always back up device (iPhone or iPad) before undertaking an IOS software update install..
