IPHONE 4 wakes itself every 15-30 seconds.

So i was one of the lucky ones to receive an iphone 4 today but wasn't lucky enough to receive a normal one. Basically the iPhone turns itself on every 15sec, Definitely annoying. I've restored it, backed it up, hard reset, and factroy restored and nothing has worked. Is there anyone out in Apple land having the same problem or that has a solution for me? Thanks in Advance

Hmmm, I had the same issue with my iP4 waking itself in standby/sleep mode, and I couldn't figure out the problem, and I tried every solution I could find, none worked. The phone would periodically wake itself after sleep/standby was activated.
So, I thought there must be a solution to this problem that I and others may not be considering.
Here's what I did to fix this problem:
It seems that the phone is sensitive to external sound input via the mic, and I just happen to notice once when I set a coffee cup down on the table next to the phone, it woke itself, maybe just a coincidence, but I thought it's possible that the mic sensitivity is set too high, so I lowered the Voice Control mic sensitivity level, and viola, no more waking itself.
I don't know if this will work for other's, but it worked for me, I hope this helps!

  • Dead iPhone "connect to power" every 2-3 seconds despite no buttons pressed

My question is should my iPhone be doing this and if not why is it?!
When my iPhone "dies" it powers down (swirly loading, black screen)
    Then..
Every 2-3 seconds it flashes up the "connect to power supply" screen.
No buttons are being pressed. My case doesn't cover any buttons so isn't that. Though have taken it off to have the same issue still happen.
Should this be happening?! If so why?! Surely this is wasting power which apparently doesn't exist.
And if its not supposed happen why is it?!

You can turn off FindMyiPhone by logging in to icloud.com on a computer and turning it off there. If you can, try this procedure:
Turn your device off and connect your cable to the computer, but not the device just yet. Start up iTunes. Now, hold down the home button on your device and plug it in to the cable - don't let go of the button until iTunes tells you it's detected a device in recovery mode. Now you can restore to factory settings.

  • Iphone 4S resets itself every few min - the battery drains in an hr.

My iphone 4S is resetting every few minutes as a result the battery drains in an hour.
By resetting I  mean, the lock screen would show up, then the apple sign would come up like when you start your iphone, searches for the network etc. This happens every few minute even when the phone is on standby or when I am using it. If I am on the call, then the call gets disconnected because the phone is resetting.
The usage always shows "-" for both Usage and Standby with the message that the usage time will be shown after iphone is fully charged.
This started only a month ago when my phone was not on the latest os version. But now it is on the latest but the problem never did go away. It never fell out of my hand or fall into water and is barely a year old (just 10/15 days over the warranty period).
    Please help!

And I should mention that I took the foll steps so far:
    1. Let the battery drain out completely and charge it overnight
    2. Backed the phone, then reset the phone and restored from backup.
    3. Took it to the apple store and they did a different kind of restore but no luck
The only thing left for me to try to is to reset it to factory setting unless some one can suggest some other way.

  • My 3G iphone resets by itself every 5 minutes, anyone know how to fix this?

Please help this is very annoying. Every 3-5 minutes it goes through a 1 minute reset

    The Basic Troubleshooting Steps are:
Restart..  Reset..  Restore from Backup..  Restore as New...
Try a Reset of the Phone... You will Not Lose Any Data...
Turn the Phone Off... ( if it isn’t already )
Press and Hold the Sleep/Wake Button and the Home Button at the Same Time...
The Apple logo will Appear and then Disappear...
    Usually takes about 15 - 20 Seconds...
    Release the Buttons...
    Turn the Phone On...
If that does not help... See Here:

The problem is that it got wet while it was under power, this most likely will have caused a short between parts of the circuitry that normally are separated. It may (if you stop using it while there is some moisture left inside it) revert to normal operation, frankly I doubt that very much.
Take it to Apple for diagnosis, you can avail yourself of a 'non warranty replacement' while you are there, if needed.

  • Mini wakes itself up

I have a 1.66ghz dual core intel mini. Whenever i put my mini to sleep with the "cmdoptioneject" key shortcut it wakes itself up after 5 seconds, but whenever i open the apple menu and click sleep everything works fine. Any idea what would be causing this? i had all the same peripherals plugged into my G4 and it worked fine. I have 10.4.8 installed with all firmware upgrades, etc. Bootcamp is also installed but i dont think that matters.

  • Iphone 3gs- updated to the ios 5.0.1... since then i plugged it into itunes, an now my phone restarts itself every 3-4 minutes! Restored 4 times and still not working help please!!!!!

iphone 3gs- updated to the ios 5.0.1... since then i plugged it into itunes, an now my phone restarts itself every 3-4 minutes!!! it so annoying! its useless, i cant do anything with it. restored it 4 times and its still doing it!!! please help!!!
i contacted o2 and they said id have to pay to get it fixed after sending it away for ten days if their was a fault, when im still under warranty!! contacted apple who will get back to me!

I am assuming you updated to version 5.1.1, not 5.0.1 since no legitimate version of 5.0.1 is available.
Where is this iPhone from and what means did you use to unlock it?

  • My iPad keeps locking itself every few seconds, any ideas how to fix it... Drives me mad having to put my pass code in all the time and the screen keeps going blank :( HELP!

My iPad keeps locking itself every few seconds, any ideas how to fix it... Drives me crazy as the screen keeps going blank and I have to constantly put in my pass code every few seconds. Can someone help me out please. The pass code lock is set at 10 minutes but it's happening every few seconds :(

I've run into the issue and it seems to be related to an app not fully supporting the iOS you're on, the reboot doesn't usually solve it.
I've solved it in the following manner(s):
    1) Backup the device to iCloud, then erase the iPad (Content and Network Settings).
    2) Setup the iPad and choose to restore from iTunes/iCloud Backup (wherever you backed it up)
    3) Perform any software updates
I have not tried simply performing the software updates (which may fix it, but if it doesn't you won't be able to perform the above steps).
    Enjoy.

  • I copied a calendar item from Outlook to the Calendar app.  I can't delete it and the reminder for the meeting repeats itself every few seconds.

I copied a calendar item from Outlook to the Calendar app.  I can't delete it and the reminder repeats itself every few seconds.  How can I stop the reminder?  How can I delete the calendar item?

Can you access in on icloud.com and delete the event?  If not, and force-quitting didn't help, try going to System Preferences>iCloud, uncheck Calendars, choose Delete from Mac when prompted (they will still be in iCloud), then restart your Mac and go back and check Calendars again.

  • Wcf method call itself every few seconds

I would like a method to call itself and send an email under circumstances. Perhaps a timer who would tick every 10 seconds? Is it plausible?

    Hi,
For this scenario, you may need to define a WCF service, which contains the corresponding operations.
The operation can send an email or do some other things. After you host the WCF service, you can create a windows service or task job to call the service at specific time.

  • My iphone 3G Backlight keeps turning off and on every 15 - 20 seconds.

My iphone 3G keeps turning off and on (only backlight) every 15 - 20 seconds when in sleep mode. When I say turning on and off, it is not switch on-off, it is only back light that gets turn on and off. This is causing the battery to exhaust quickly.

First, try to reset the phone by holding the sleep and home button until the Apple logo comes back again.
If the problem persits, set it up "as new device". If this does not work, do it again, this time not using the backup after the new set up.
If still no luck, get it serviced or visit your nearest Apple Store.
