Iphone 4 white screen in music

I have an iphone 4 with 32 gbytes running IOS 5.0.1 (9A405)
The music application is not working.
Every time I press the music icon  I get a white screen for about 5 seconds, the application crashes and I am back at the home screen.
My itunes 10.5.3 (3) running on a MacBook Pro 15-inch, 2.53GHz, Mid 2009
The Mac OS is: Mac OS X Lion 10.7.3 (11D50)
Does someone has a answer to this problem?

I have had the same problem occur to me several times.  I think it may have to do with the size of one of my playlists since I have a very large one that I use as my default one.  The problem seems to be with the feature of the iPhone IOS that kills apps that take too long to launch.  Here's what may work for you to get the music player working again:
1) Launch the music player and time how long it runs before it quits.  (About 15 seconds?)
2) Re-launch and wait until just a few seconds before it would normally quit  (about 13 seconds?)
3) Quickly press the home button to go back to the home screen.
4) Double click the home button to open the fast app switcher.  Touch the music app and resume the app.
5) Do this a few times or whatever it takes to complete initializing.
These steps seem to get me through my issues.  Good luck and let me know if it helps!

When I export slideshows the result is a file with only the first picture then a blank white screen with music. Apple bug or am I missing the obvious?

Usually when the phone shows just the white Apple logo, it indicates an issue with the system software that prevents the phone from finishing it's boot sequence. When this happens, you will need to restore the phone, which removes all data and replaces the system software with a fresh set.
Since the phone is not seen in iTunes when it's in this state, you will have to put it into DFU mode for iTunes to see it.
To put the phone in DFU mode:
    - make sure the phone is connected to a computer with the current version of iTunes on it.
    - hold the sleep/wake button and the home button simultaneously for 8 seconds.
    - let go of the sleep/wake button and continue pressing the home button. The iTunes screen will show a short progress bar then show a dialog box stating that an iPod was detected that is in recovery mode.
    -click OK
-click the Restore button in the middle of the iTunes page
After the restore the phone should be back up and running and you can sync your data back.

  • Dropped my iPhone, white screen, have AppleCare service

I am such a dumb duck for dropping my iPhone while playing tennis, and now, my phone is just a white screen.
I have a AppleCare service for my iPhone, so does that cover my phone for damage?

Doubtful Apple is that stupid. If you call AppleCare to handle this over the phone, your iPhone will be picked up and returned for inspection and testing. If you make an appointment at an Apple store if there is one nearby, your iPhone will be inspected and tested - they won't just take your word for it and give you an exchange under warranty. This isn't Apple's first rodeo.
More than likely this problem will be determined to have been caused by accidental damage. You may get lucky by not be truthful up front but if you prefer being deceitful, then hopefully you won't reap what you sow. Even if you are truthful, you may get an exchange under warranty anyway.

  • IPhone white screen of death:  Anyone else?

    To All,
Since the iPhone 3.0 software update I have been experiencing the white screen of death (basically the screen turns completely white but the phone still works fine in the background. You just can't see anything) on my iPhone 3g. You can reset the phone and it will come back just fine but a minute or two later the white screen will appear again. After a few minutes of resetting or leaving it alone it will go away.
I would like to know if anyone else having this problem since the 3.0 release. Did you experience this problem before the 3.0 release? Also, does it happen when your battery is around 50% and then stops when your battery is at 20%. Just wondering if the battery is starting to fail and this is causing something in the iphone to freak out and pop the white screen.

That happened to me once and the only was is to fix it is to use recovery mode.
    1. Connect your USB cable to your computer but NOT your iPhone.
    2. Turn your phone off.
    3. When your phone is off, press the home button and connect your iPhone to your computer.
    4. Your iPhone will turn on and keep pressing to the home button. iTunes logo will appear on your screen.
    5. You can start your restoration progress.
Hope this helps. Thats is how I saved my phone. It also seems to me that the phone you are using right now may had been jailbroken and stopped working.

  • Iphone white screen

my iphone screen is white, it was working fine.  I've taken out the simm card but still a white screen. Does anyone have any suggestions?

    Hi,
What were you doing with the iPhone when the issue occurred?
Try restarting the iPhone by holding the Sleep/Wake button until the red slider appears> then slide to turn off> and turn the iPhone back on by pressing the Sleep/Wake again, as described on page 46 of the iPhone User Guide.
    http://manuals.info.apple.com/en/iPhoneUserGuide.pdf
If you cannot restart the iPhone, try resetting it by holding the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons until you see the Apple logo.
If the issue persists after restarting or resetting, try restoring the iPhone. This article: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1414 will walk you through restoring the iPhone.

    I turn on my computer and all i get is a blank white/grey screen. No logo, no loading symbol, just a blank screen;
    Command+R does nothing,
    Holding Shift does nothing
Press and hold the power button down to turn of the machine.
Press and hold the Command Option R keys on the built in keyboard and press the power button, you have to be near your high speed Internet connection.
If you get something like "Install OS X" do that, it will overwrite your old copy with a new one and not touch your files or most programs.
If you can't install OS X, head to Disk Utility and First Aid > Repair Disk and Permissions and try reisntalling OS X again. (do not erase the drive as this will wipe your data off, unless your sure)
If you still get the white/gray screen with nothing while holding the Command Option R keys at boot time,  I suspect your EFI firmware has been borked somehow and it's not loading to respond to the at boot key commands.
We are able to reinstall the EFI firmware ourselves, but the current method requires a machine with a internal optical drive. This problem occurs so rarely that it's not been used much and certainly unknown how well it works off a USB thumb drive, which is what I suspect the Apple Store/Repair will do.
Since your under warranty, I would have Apple replace the EFI firmware and check the machine out for hardware issues as well.
Buy AppleCare and a external drive for TimeMachine backups.

  • Blank, white screen but music still playing! Help!!!!!!!!

I've had my iPod Video (30G) for about 5 months. For some reason, today when I switched it on, the screen lighted up but it was completely white and blank. I clicked some random buttons and music started playing. I waited for the battery to run out, and then recharged it on my PC for a while. When I switched it on, the screen was still blank but music could still be played! I tried resetting it by holding MENU and SELECT but it's still broken.
    HELP!

Maybe try restoring your ipod. Plug in your ipod, go to the updater through the start menu, and then, once it has recognized your computer, click on the restore button.
Caution: this will remove all songs from your iPod, requiring you to re-sync your iPod with your computer.
    hope this helps..

  • IPhone white screen with jarred graphics

    Hello.
I have an intermittened fault that is now happening all the time.
All you see on the screen is white with jarred box graphics. Sometimes doing hard resets or just pressing the on/off button brings the screen to normal. But as soon as it goes to black screensaver, when i press the bottom button it can go back to white.
I have done a system restore but i haven't tried doing one by wiping it to 'as new', i just restored from a previous back up.
The phone is still fully functioning as I can still receives calls and you can guess where the slide bar is. The phone hasn't been dropped, it is in a padded casing and the problem started the day after downloading the FatBooth app. It is out of warrenty.
Please help. How can this be fixed?

  • HT4913 when i try to look at music at the itunes store i just get a blank white screen

i log in then press itunes store it processes then i just get a blank white screen. no music to look at or download

If you're seeing a blank iTunes Store, see this support article:

If that does't help, try resetting Winsock. This has solved the problem for some people, at least.
    1) Click on your start menu.
    2) Go to accessories
    3) Run the Command Prompt application. For those with Vista or Windows 7, right click on Comman Prompt and choose "run as administrator".
    4) Once it opens, type in the following command...
    netsh winsock reset
    5) hit Enter and it should say something like Winsock reset successful.
    6) Reboot your computer and try the iTunes Store again.
    Regards.

  • White screen on my 3gs, i would like to spot the problem if it is a cable problem or an LCD problem?

after dismantling the iphone 3gs and reassmble it again i got a white screen, i would like to spot the problem if it is a cable problem or an LCD problem?

Steps for iPhone white screen, #1 Reset. If fixed done. If the screen becomes normal, but then again goes back to white screen, fix is new LCD Display. If remains continuous white screen after Reset, then the problem could be Logic Board or LCD Display, in this situation try a new LCD Display hoping it will fix issue, but will not if problem is Logic Board fault.
Before opening and during all repair of iPhone 3GS make sure it is OFF. This is why you now have a White Screen, try not to make that mistake again.

Hi everyone..last night i updated ios 5 and my iphone white screen randomly appear.
i alreday restore my iphone but didn't solved the problem. it solved when i lock and unlock my iphone for several times but will shown again randomly.
need your advice it is hardware it is hardware problem or software problem because shown after i upgrade to ios 5.Thanks

What do you see on the iPod screen, when you plug in to the PC?
    My suggestions,
Charge only using High Power USB2.0 port at the back of your PC and not the low power USB 1.1 port at the front of the PC.
Change the USB cable, (maybe it is broken)
    Try a wall charger.
    Have a nice day!

  • Iphone screen is white, still plays music and turns on..Whats wrong?

I brought my iphone up to the snow with me. Unfortunetly it got wet. After seeing this I dried it off and now its sitting in rice. When I turn it on, the screen is white, yet it charges and I can slide it open and play music. So I know the phone still works. Not sure what to do. Any help will do. A friend suggested I replace the screen because he had a same problem with pressure and I was up in the mountains. Please help. Thank you.
(Phone has been running slower since newest update, sometimes it would die with 45% battery left)

  • After iOS7 update I cannot launch the music app. It crashes after a few seconds of white screen. What to do?

Just updated my iPhone 5 (16g) to iOS7 and now I cannot launch the music app anymore.
It opens and then just crashes after a few seconds of white screen.
Also If I go to Settings General About the phone crashes all the time after just a few seconds. :-(
    Andreas

The same for me. iPhone 4S, itunes match and upgrade to ios7 by air.
    So what we have:
    1) Music app does not launch (white screen then close)
    2) About screen crashes (I guess once it tries to calculate music space)
    3) Spotlight does not show any results (no care what I set to search in in the preferences)
    4) iTunes Match slider can not be set to Off. However, it is possible to logout from AppleID, then it off. But this does not change the situaton at all
    5) Podcast app does not launch
I tried to reboot, to sign in with another Apple ID, to turn off itunes Match, to reset all preferences. Nothing helps.
    Things to try:
    - reset all preferences and content
    - reinstall ios7 with itunes from scratch
    - switch to windows phone

  • IPhone showing white screen

    Hey guys.
I bought my iPhone 3GS 3 years ago and it has been working fine ever since.
Yesterday when I got home, it showed a white screen.. So I tried to restart it (hold down sleep button and home button for like 10 seconds) and it became normal again.. untill i pressed sleep button to to lock it.
Whenever i press the home button to open it, the white screen shows up. So basically I cant see anything but I can lock it up by pressing and turning on music etc. however I cant see anything.
Im pretty sure it's not the screen because if I restart (holding the 2 buttons) it will work untill i put it in my pocket again.
I searched all over google and couldten find anyone with this problem who had not cracked their screen (my screen is not cracked or anything).. Tried Apple's helppage and there wasnt much to find either. I have restored and updated to latest iOS without either of it working.. Help please
