IPhone 4 Wi-Fi connects, doesn't load anything

Hello there,
Up until a week or two ago my Wi-Fi was working almost flawlessly on all my iDevices.
Now however, both my iPad 2 and iPhone 4S have issues loading anything through my home Wi-Fi network. They both identify the network, and about 80% of the time they can connect to it. But it refuses to load data (Safari hangs for ages until it tells me it can't load the page, apps that use the internet forever load etc).
Here's a list of the things I've done on my iPhone to try and solve the problem.
TROUBLESHOOT /// EFFECT
Turned iPhone on / off /// Sometimes no effect, other times the internet works for about 20 seconds before being unable to load data again.
Renewed lease /// Usually no effect, once or twice it worked for a minute or two.
Reset network settings /// No effect at all.
Turned Wi-Fi on/off /// No effect.
I have Virgin Media 100mbit internet, so it uses the "Superhub" that is a modem and router in one. Here's what I've done on it to fix it:
TROUBLESHOOT /// EFFECT
Lowered Wi-Fi Speed (Old: 300mbps New: 150mbps) /// No effect.
Manually selected a wireless channel /// No effect.
Reset router entirely /// No effect
Reset Wi-Fi (pressed button on the front, D/C's and then reconnects WiFi devices) /// Worked for about 20 seconds, then nothing.
As you can see, I have no idea what is causing the problem. Sometimes messing with the router gets a VERY temporary fix, and sometimes messing with the iPhone does.
I should mention I'm connected to business broadband (BT phone line) at the moment, and it's working fine.
The Wi-Fi has always been set to these standard settings:
802.11 mode:
Up to 300Mbps
802.11N Band:
2.4Ghz
I haven't troubleshooted on the iPad 2 (It's not mine) but it had problems at the same time as my iPhone 4.
It's awkward because it's hard to tell what's causing it. On the one hand, it could be my router/hub because both iDevices wok fine on the secondary network. On the other hand, it could be the iDevices, because my laptop connects fine.

What fixed it for me was resetting the Touch, then restoring (an 8 HOUR PROCESS!!!!!).
WHen I disable security in my Wireless router, I can connect without problems to all the internet / web services. I still haven't been able to connect from an outside w-fi connection, but they are probably blocked in some way, even though I do connect.

  • Safari 5 Doesn't Load Anything

I updated my Safari from version 4.0.5 to 5.0 for leopard and After restart The program would open a window and it would appear to start loading the homepage but stops there. No little loading wheel and no matter what url I put in, it'll pretend to start loading and then sit there and do nothing. I've already tried uninstalling it fully and redoing it. I've tried deleting any and ALL plug ins. I tried to uninstall and then reinstall the older version but it wouldn't let me and would repeatedly tell me that a newer version of Safari is already installed, even after I had uninstalled it. I just want it to work again, I don't care what version or if I loose my bookmarks.

    HI,
I've tried deleting any and ALL plug ins.
    Since you deleted plugins...
Before you lose your Bookmarks, if you can, with Safari open from the Menu Bar click File/Export Bookmarks. Save that file to your Desktop just in case.
Next, login to another user account and see if Safari functions as it should there. If Safari works there, then the problem is at least isolated to your user account only and not a system wide problem.
Go to the Safari Menu Bar, click Safari/Preferences. Make note of all the preferences under each tab. Quit Safari. Now go to ~/Library/Preferences and move this file com.apple.safari.plist to the Desktop.
Relaunch Safari and see if that makes a difference. If not, move the .plist file back to the Preferences folder. If Safari functions as it should, move that .plist file to the Trash.
If you didn't repair disk permissions after the Safari 5 update was installed, do that.
Launch Disk Utility. (Applications/Utilities) Select MacintoshHD in the panel on the left, select the FirstAid tab. Click: Repair Disk Permissions. When it's finished from the Menu Bar, Quit Disk Utility and restart your Mac. If you see a long list of "messages" in the permissions window, it's ok. That can be ignored. As long as you see, "Permissions Repair Complete" when it's finished... you're done. Quit Disk Utility and restart your Mac.
If nothing above helps, install the v10.5.8 Combo Update It's ok to do this even though you are already running v10.5.8.

  • Wireless Network Connected But Not Loading Anything

Okay, so I'll be honest, I'm not exactly a pro when it comes to computers. I know my way around computers, but if you tell me something detailed and complicated, it takes a bit to figure it out. That being said, I'll jump right into my problem.
A few months ago we got a wireless router and attempted to set it up. Well, that took a while to figure out and miraculously I managed to get internet from it. For the span of a few hours. After it was set up and I had internet for like three hours, it just stopped working. We kept trying to mess with it, but to no avail. So it was one of those things we just gave up messing with. Then recently we moved to our new house, and for the fun of it I was trying to mess with it again. Strangely, it shows up that I HAVE internet now, but it won't let me load a page. And I know for a fact that it's getting internet through that router for the fact that one of the sites I'm on regularly has an automatic cbox. So if someone posts in it, it automatically refreshes. So I"m on that site the other day and tried out the network, and it refreshes the cbox, but I can't move to any page without getting a page load error of some kind. It also refuses to let me log into MSN or YIM.
So I'm wondering if anyone might know what's wrong and can possible help me fix it?

What is the model no of the router..?
Who is your Internet Service Provider..?
What is the ip address you are getting from the router..?
Try to reset the router for 45 seconds and reconfigure it once again..

  • I can't download trial photoshop and illustrator because my creative cloud doesn't load anything on app page.

This is what my creative cloud looks like. I have uninstalled this cloud app and installed a new one to see how it reacts.
This loading is still going on. Any other pages work fine except this app page for me to download products.
Please help me to solve this issue. I'm working with Mac.

Please see I receive a spinning wheel within the Apps tab where this topic was just discussed.

  • Computer won't boot, says please wait...doesn't load anything.

Okay, A problem started the day before yesterday and so far the only thing I've been able to do in order to get on my laptop is reboot it a few times... I don't think that is the right way to handle this situation as I've only had my Toshiba Satelite Laptop for a month and four days.
When I open it and push the "On" button, it goes into normal startup mode, then...when I should be at the sign in screen, it has a little thing that says "Please wait." First of all- I waited twenty minutes, I read four chapters in Whutering Heights whilst waiting. So eventually I just rebooted it. Now when I got to the sign in screen it is a BLANK PURPLE! After rebooting it a few times it finally arrived at the sign in screen, but that does not solve my problem. So far in order to get on my laptop today and yesterday I've followed the same routine...But that isn't healthy for my laptop, I don't think. Please if you can help me I'd really appreciate it.
I just don't understand why it should continue to do this "EVERY TIME" I turn on my laptop.
Is this a common thing, or a malfunctioning laptop?
    Thanks again and Happy Holidays!

Ca you boot into Safe Mode normally? If so, I'd try a clean startup next to help diagnose.
How can I perform a clean startup of Windows 7 without my startup items to troubleshoot a problem?

  • Sinchronyze iPhone without an Internet connection

I need to synchronize my iPhone, but my adsl connection doesn't work...can I sync. it anyway on iTunes? I don't think so, becuse in this way I couldn't access my iTunes account

Exactly.  You've answered your own question.

  • New iphone says "sync complete" but doesn't download any music?

I have had iTunes and used it without incident with my iPod. Just bought an iphone today but when I went to sync with iTunes for the first time it prompted me to updated to latest version which I did. For some reason it seems to sync to my iphone, says "sync complete", but doesn't download anything from my library. Iphone still says "no content". First day home with iphone. Not real happy about it.
    Help please?

Make sure you have checked "Sync Music in the music pane when connected to iTunes.
Look at pages 13-15 in the User Guide available here: http://manuals.info.apple.com/enUS/iPhone_UserGuide.pdf

  • My iPhone 5 is experiencing problems with the Wifi at home. It shows that it is connected to the wifi but anything that uses wifi doesn't load. The wifi works sometimes however but this is rare. How do I fix this?

My iPhone 5 is experiencing problems with the Wifi at home. It shows that it is connected to the wifi but anything that uses wifi (apps etc) doesn't load content and just looks like it's loading forever but nothing ever comes. However the wifi and wifi/internet dependant apps work sometimes but it's rare. How do I fix this?

    Back up all data.
Unlock the Network preference pane, if necessary, by clicking the lock icon in the lower left corner and entering your password. Cllck Advanced, open the DNS tab, and change the server addresses to the following:
              8.8.8.8
              8.8.4.4
That's Google DNS. Click OK, then Apply.
    In Safari, select
Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Privacy ▹ Remove All Website Data
and confirm. If you’re using another browser, empty the cache. Test. Any difference?
    Notes:
    1. If you lose Internet access after making the above change to your network settings, delete the Google servers in the  Network preference pane, then select the TCP/IP tab and click Renew DHCP Lease. That should restore the original DNS settings; otherwise restore them yourself. Remember that you must click Apply in order for any changes to take effect.
    2. I don't use Google DNS myself, though I have tested it, and I'm not recommending it or any other DNS provider; the server addresses are offered merely for testing purposes. There may be privacy and technical issues involved in using that service, which you should investigate personally before you decide whether to keep the settings. Other public DNS services exist.

  • Can you print from an iPad 2 using 3G in a home with no computer or wifi by using an iPhone 5 hot spot connection if the printer has been set up in another place with live wifi? I know this question is loaded but my dad lives in a rural area

Can you print from an iPad 2 using 3G in a home with no other computer or wifi by using an iPhone 5 hot spot connection if the printer has been set up in another place with live wifi? I know this question is loaded but my dad lives in a rural area and is wanting a printer to use occasionally. He doesn't want to deal with a computer and I keep his iPad updated for him at my home.  Please shed some light on this for us PLEASE. Thanks

In that case, it should be possible. I haven't tried this directly, but I believe it should work.
You'll need to get an actual AirPrint compatible Printer.
Check here for a list of Printers you can choose from.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4356
Once you have the compatible printer, using the Hotspot feature from the iPhone he'll have to create the Wifi bubble form the iPhone, and connect the Printer to that Wifi network.
Then connect the iPad to that same Wifi network provided by the iPhone. When all that is done, the printer should appear in any of the Apps that can Print under the Action Arrow button.
For instance in email, pressing the action arrow should show a Print option. In there the printer should appear.
Alternatively you can simply buy a wireless router and setup the network through there even if there is no internet attached.  Connect the wireless printer to the router network, and connect the iPad or iPhone to that same wifi network to print.

    Hi there Ashton1334!
I have a couple of articles here for you that may address your issue. It seems like from your description that this article is going to be the most relevant, and it deals with Wi-Fi settings being greyed out or dim:

My iPhone 4S has been frozen in the loading screen I don't know how to fix it:( my lock screen button doesn't work

Without a working lock screen button, you'll probably have to wait for the battery to go dead.  Once it doesn't wake up by pressing the home button you can plug it into a charger and it will eventually reboot.

    Hi, Shadiamond Murray.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
Sometimes a simple power cycle of the router can correct the issue that you are experiencing.  However, the issue could be a little more complex.  Wi-Fi routers need adjustments to settings periodically for optimized performance with the constant progression of wireless device technology.  Below, I have included two articles.  The first article will cover basic Wi-Fi troubleshooting regarding iOS device connection.  The second article cover the recommended settings for current Wi-Fi access points.

iOS and OS X: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points
