Iphone 4 will not sync.  not enough memory.

I am trying to sync my Iphone 4 with Itunes.
I am running Windows 7 64 bit.  I have a dell XPS 8100 with 12GB memory and Intel Core i5 CPU.
My IPhone 4 is running software version 4.2.1.  Itunes latest version 10.2.2 64 bit.
I keep on getting message "The IPhone "XXX" cannot be synced.  There is not enough memory available."
I tried a complete uninstall of all Apple software per support instructions.  I even took computer and IPhone to Apple Store.  Tecs could not help.  All he said is that he had seen a similar problem for Windows 7 64 bit.  What am I supposed to do?
I am very frustrated.  I spent all this money on the Iphone and now I cannot add music or update the phone.  I am considering dumping Iphone for droid phone when contract is up.

I have rebooted several times.
I should also add that I have tried running syncing from a different user account on my PC.

  • I installed Mountain Lion so that I could sync my notes with my iPhone that already syncs notes with a specific email address I use for school, but during the install it automatically set up Notes to sync w the wrong email addy. How can I fix it?

I installed Mountain Lion so that I could sync my notes with my iPhone that already syncs notes with a specific email address I use for school, but during the install it automatically set up Notes to sync w the wrong email addy. It looked in Mail, which had 5 email accounts set up in it, and for some reason picked the only one that I no longer use because it is for a school that I no longer attend. How can I fix it so that it syncs with the correct email account for notes and calendar? There don't seem to be any settings available other than to check if you want to use the basic features. It also said during the set up that it was setting up 'find my mac' but if I look on the iCloud website there is nothing showing there for finding my mac.
At this point I feel like I wasted my money paying for this supposed upgrade. I got nothing for it but frustration. It even automatically set my security settings to allow only downloads from the Mac store so the first time I went to download something I had to stop what I was doing and go correct settings first. I feel like there should be a security setting to block downloads from the Mac store so I don't accidentally end up clicking the wrong thing and being charged.

iCloud isn't syncing them on your phone.  You simply added the email account to your phone and enabled calendar and notes syncing with the email provider, and the calendar and notes appear in the calendar and notes apps on your phone.  You can do this with Gmail, Yahoo and other IMAP account.  iCloud email is just another IMAP account, but syncs notes with Apple's iCloud server just as Gmail syncs notes and calendars with Google's server.
iCloud didnt' set up a non-iCloud account on your Mac.  When you check Mail in System Preferences>iCloud, it only creates an iCloud email account.  You can also add other email accounts to your Mac by going to System Preferences>Mail,Contacts,Calendars and clicking on the "+" sign on the bottom of the left sidebar.  If you added these other email accounts to your Mac before you upgraded to Mountain Lion, these were simply maintained on your Mac after you upgraded.

    Hi StoneLeadyFarms,
Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
It sounds like notes on your devices may have synced when the email account was added, as described here:
    iOS: Syncing Notes
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4191
Notes are associated with an IMAP email account or iCloud account. To sync Notes, enable Notes for each account in Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars or Settings > iCloud.
You can stop syncing notes by tapping Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars or Settings > iCloud, tapping the email address that you added, and switching Notes to the off position.
Additionally, if your husband has backed up his iPhone to iTunes or iCloud, the steps in this article can help with recovering the lost notes from his device:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes

  • ITunes could not sync "notes" to iPhone 4 because iPhone canceled the sync?

My iPhone 4 arrived and it activated fine and the setup / sync with iTunes went fine, except with NOTES within Mac Mail -- I keep receiving the following error message via iTunes
    QUOTE:
iTunes could not sync notes to the iPhone " _____ iPhone" because the iPhone canceled the sync.
    END QUOTE.
I've never had this happen with iTunes and/or any of my previous iPhones. Anyone else having this problem or know how I can resolve it. I've turned on my MobileMe syncing and so far that hasn't updated the notes from my Mac over to my iPhone 4 either. HELP!

I have nt had this issue yet, as I have only had the iPod touch for a few weeks, since moving from a Windows based phone and laptop using Outlook, where everything just worked..unlike this **%^$ Apple system.  OK I have had the mac for a year or more now, and just about getting used to it, it is only since the Smart Phone died that I thought I would give an iPhone a try...but I managed to get a itouch cheap...but new ( less than 6 months old)
Only this morning I realised that I missed the notes that I used to reply on with Outlook and and the Win Mobile phone.
So began looking to see why the few notes I created on the Apple mail app were not on the itouch.
This lead me to this thread, and seeing mention of the  'Mobile Me ' account
From what I understand Mobile Me is another e-mail account?  is it free? or a paid for service I seem to thin kit was paid for and never looked at it any further .  I already have  5 e-mail accounts, and did not need another one!!
So can someone explain to a newbie like me what is the best way to create notes on the Mac and have them sync to the itouch...preferably with out having to spend yet more money on this Apple millstone round my neck
    Thanks
    Neil

My iPhone will ring but not play music. Does anyone know how to fix this problem?

Clean iPhone charging port with clean dry toothbrush. See if fixed. If not, and if there is Warranty or AppleCare make Genius reservation or set up service and take or send to Apple. If no coverage, clean again with toothbrush and small amount of Isopropyl Alcohol.

iPod touch 2G. Not syncing, not restoring, not switching on. iTunes 10.4.1. Help Please!

    - What happens when you try to sync and restore?
    - If iTunes is not seing the iPod see if restting the iPod will either fix the problem or allow you to see it in iTunes so you can restore the iPod
Reset iPod touch:  Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Next place the iPod in recovery mode and then try to restore the iPod.  For recovery mode see:

  • Iphone4 will not sync notes to Apple Mail

Notes created in Apple Mail will sync to the iPhone. I've tried "On My iPhone"and my gmail account as the default account in the iPhone settings. In Mail, Contacts, Calendars settings Notes is not an option to activate in POP (Verizon) email accounts although gmail does. iTunes Devices > Info > Other > Sync Notes box is checked.
    What am I missing?

I read the Apple Support document you linked and verified the correct settings on both phone and Apple Mail. Since gmail was the only iPhone mail account with an option to turn on/off notes, the gmail account was added to the MBP Mail app. Now it syncs both ways. It seems POP servers will not perform two way sync.
I find it curious I am channeled towards Google for sync functionality with calendars and mail even after giving MobileMe a go three times.
Julian, thank you so much for your help! I resolved this issue quickly because of your quick and accurate reply.
    Cheers, Roger

  • IPHONE 5 NOT SYNCING "NOTES" IN OUTLOOK

Hi - My iPhone 5 isn't syncing "Notes" when I sync with Outlook 2010.  I don't use iCloud and don't want to use iCloud.  If I put a new "Note" into Oulook on my pc, it doesn't sync to iPhone and vica versa.  I'm been into iTunes and selected INFO.  In there I've ticked SYNC WITH CONTACTS - ALL CONTACTS.  I've also ticked SYNC CALENDARS WITH OUTLOOK - ALL CALENDARS. I've ticked SYNC MAIL ACCOUNTS FROM OUTLOOK.  Under the OTHER heading, I've ticked SYNC BOOKMARKS WITH INTERNET EXPLORER.  The box beside SYNC NOTES WITH OUTLOOK is not ticked.  I tick it, then I'm instructed in the bottom right hand side of the iTunes screesn to APPLY or REVERT.  I click on APPLY.  At that point my iPhone starts syncing, but the box i ticked called SYNC NOTES WITH OUTLOOK, unticks itself and my notes don't sync.  Under ADVANCED, when the SYNC NOTES WITH OUTLOOK unticks itself, the NOTES box under the heading ADVANCED, is greyed out.  Frustrating.  Can anyone please help.  Thank you.

Okay I got it to work!!! I guess right after I posted this an update came out. iOS 6.0.1 this update had nothing listed about this problem in its contents though. but I updated and it still didnt work. so then I hard rest my iPhone 5 again and then I went to iMessages on my iMac and clicked messages; accounts; and unchecked iMessages. Then went back in and recheck iMessages. then just wait a second and it should ask for your password for your Apple ID. enter in. (I did all this yesterday and it didnt work up to this point but then something different came after I put my password in) after you put your password in wait a min and a message should pop up infront of iMessages. It will be giving you the option to use your phone number for your Macs iMessages also. once you check that a message should pop up on your iPhone saying your Mac is now using the number for iMessages. It still didnt work till I went into my iPhone 5's settings; Messages; and toggled the iMessage button Off then back On.
    Then it works! Its Synced!

  • Songs purchased on iPhone not syncing (Not authorized message)

One computer, one iPhone. I purchased tracks using iTunes on the iPhone. I sync'd up and immediately got the "Some of the items in the iTunes library, including "foo", were not copied to the iPhone "my iphone" because you are not authorized to play them on this computer."
I've seen the posts referring to adding the iPhone as an authorized machine in order to play ringtones, so I assume this is a related issue.
    I have two questions:
    1. How do I set the iPhone as an authorized machine? I see the item in the iTunes | My Account page but I see no way to edit this item.
    2. Does Apple realize how insulting an error this is? I purchased the songs on the iPhone and now I'm not allowed to play them!!??? I get the whole DRM thing, but seriously, the sync should be smart enough to set the iPhone as authorized, or at least ask me to add it as authorized. It knows where I purchased them from.
Again, a simple dialog allowing you to add the iPhone would be far less annoying then the way iTunes behaves now.
    Thanks in advance,
    -Remi

Between you, me, and the rest of the world, I don't like Apple's angle on iPod/iPhone sync-ing and computer authorization/deauthorization in any case.
The computer deauthorization process contains at least one fatal flaw in that you can only deauthorize if you are physically on the computer to be deauthorized. I've got one that went up in smoke, and now I can't deauthorize it. So, there it sits taking up one of my precious 5 slots available. @#$%^&*!!! How 'bout letting me name my computers so that I can deauthorize any of them from any computer on the planet!?!?
Finally, when I sync-ed up with the my new computer, a bunch of my stuff got deleted. iTunes should NOT be in the business of deleting ANYTHING from MY iPod/iPhone during a sync unless, of course, I expressly choose it to be so!
I can dig the DRM issue as well, but, with just a bit more effort, iTunes can be tweaked to give the user needed flexibility while protecting property rights.

  • My iphone and ipad not sync notes

i upgraded my macbook pro with mavericks and iphone 4,ipad2 with ios7,now the notes is not sync with each other
i did on and off icloud notes but no use ,i want to know whether sync of notes  is possible or not, please help

The two devices cannot sync with each other.
They can only sync with a Master Copy you keep on some kind of Server, such as on iCloud.

  • My iPhone won't sync, incorrect insufficient memory error

I have an iphone 4 32GB, running iOS 6.1.  I'm running iTunes 11.0.1 on my Macbook Pro.  I have a meagre 2.3GB free on my phone.
In the last few days I have noticed that my iphone isn't always recognised: when I connect via USB I get the new phone set up screen - from time to time, but not always.  I became extra diligent about ejecting my iPhone from iTunes each time I unplugged it (I choose not to sync over Wi-Fi).  That seemed to sort that problem out.
Today I'm unable to sync at all.  When I try, I get a message that my iPhone cannot be synced because there is insufficient memory; that I need an additional 18.3 GB to sync my library.
I've restarted (phone and computer) and have even restored from backup.  I'm holding off doing a factory reset, my next step will be to remove and readd files to try and spot the problem.
I think the problem is linked with podcasts: I have about a dozen that update weekly, and I have been keeping back copies on my phone.  All up my podcasts take up about 6GB.  I have nothing concrete to support my suspicion, other than that it seems that podcasts have been basically difficult to manage since updating to iOS 6.0.
    Any ideas?

Okay, I've deleted my backlog of podcasts, which freed up more than the 6GB I thought they were taking up.
I still had the same sync problem though.  I found an old reply to a similar issue on the forums, and the suggestion was to back up, delete all music, then reload it.  I'm in the process of doing that now - I've deleted the music, and am syncing to get it back on.  I'm currently at song 2667 of 3560, reporting 9.64GB free.  If I get to the end of this and get the same error message, I'm going to be mad!!!
What has become clear to me is that users have had this issue over several years now, and there's no formal Apple response, and (because it's still happening) no sign of a fix.
It seems that the problem is that sometimes, when syncing, iTunes thinks it will be adding your iTunes library to your phone, in addition to the files already on your phone (i.e. it doesn't account for overwriting or skipping tracks already present).
I'll keep people posted with my progress, and hopefully one day this will be useful to someone else in my situation.

  • Why not sync notes between iPad and iPod?

My iPod andipad don't sync notes between rhem

To use iCloud to sync Notes you have to activate the free iCloud email address on www.icloud.com and use that account to keep Notes in sync between devices. Through iTunes on the computer the sync settings need to be set to sync with Mail on the Mac or Outlook on the PC.
I would hope this will change in iOS 6 and OS X Mountain Lion since Note and Reminders are getting there own apps and should have to be tied to other mail and calendar apps.

  • Ipod not syncing notes/calendars/contacts

    i use itunes 10.1.1.4 and office 2003 sp3(i think).
everytime i try to sync itunes i get an error saying "iTunes could not sync contacts/calendars/notes to the iPod because an error occurred while merging data"
    aanything that can be done?

it came up with an error for the calendar sending the info or something like that... when i turned off calendars it came up with the origional error-merging data... when i told it to replace the notes with the data on the computer it said an error occured while sending the data to ipod... i am thinking that it is outlooks fault... it isn't taking anything or talking to itunes it would seem... any other notes program that i can get itunes to sync with? or is there a way of getting outlook to work again?

  • Error Message iPhone cannot be synced, not enough access privileges

I have a dual boot WinXP Pro & Vista Ultimate laptop (ThinkPad X60) on separate HDDs. Have loaded iTunes 8.02 on both drives in both OS's. No problem synching my iPhone in iTunes in WinXP. However, in Vista, I can back up, but cannot synch, the iPhone (which is a 3G, acquired in August 2008, and it has Software 2.2). This message repeatedly appears: "The iPhone "[name of phone]" cannot be synced. You do not have enough access privileges for this operation." Have used Windows Explorer, gone to the iTunes folder in \Users, and taken ownership of it and installed "full control," but that hasn't helped. Have reinstalled iTunes. That hasn't helped. ANY SUGGESTIONS?

  • I have an iPhone 4S running iTunes 11.1.5(5) and my iPhone no longer syncs Notes to my Mail box. I'm wondering if that's because I recently upgraded to iOS 7.0.6

I recently upgraded to iOS 7.0.6 on my iPhone 4S, and iTunes 11.1.5(5). Ever since I upgraded, my iPhone notes no longer sync to my Mail box. Can I restore syncing???

If you upgrade your iPhone, your only choice will be to upgrade to the current version (iOS 8.1.2 at the moment).  So your choices are:
    Upgrade to current iOS.
Stay at the iOS version you have currently.
Purchase a new, more capable iPhone (and possibly sell your current one).
One additional comment:  If you upgrade, you can never go back.

  • IPhone 4s music sync not completing

I had my phone replaced a couple weeks ago, which is great and all, but I've been trying to get about 10 gigs of music back on to it without much luck.
I have had a multitude of issues.  I've had a couple times where the sync won't start, but I can usually get around that.
The real problem is, after sitting through about two hours, watching my 5000-some songs filter on to the phone, it then seems to get hung up on the last step, "waiting for items to copy."  This last time, I let it sit for two hours+ at that stage, before I realized I really had somewhere to be. (finding four conscious hours at a time where I can leave my phone and my computer sitting around is a bit of a stretch)  So, I braved hitting the cancel sync button.  The cancelling sync status then proceeded to hang around for quite a while, until I just force quit itunes.  Which then resulted in all my data being categorized as "other" when I next hooked it up (including ten gigs of transferred songs, which won't actually appear on the phone), leading me to restore my phone yet again to clear the useless data.
So, I guess my next step here might be to try letting it sync over night?
I have the latest version of itunes, 11.1.5, and the latest ios, 7.0.6, unless things have updated again without telling me.  I recently repaired a bunch of disk permissions and such in an effort to get ibooks working with my phone correctly (an ongoing process), so hopefully those aren't the problem.  I've reset the phone, quit and reopened itunes, etc.  I'm thinking about maybe resetting the sync history?  I don't know much about that, so I am not sure how it would be helpful but I saw it mentioned in my googling.
Anyways, any tips would be appreciated.  Do you think it just needs more time to get itself together at the end there?  And on another note, any chance this will be resolved permanently any time soon?  It's pretty lame to have a 32 gig phone I can't put anything on.

    Hmm...
Unclick the "Sync Music" box, then sync your iPhone. Restart your computer and iPhone, then open iTunes again. After that, try syncing the music again. I have encountered this problem multiple times, and I have not found a complete method yet, but I have tried this one before.
