Iphone 4 with iOS5 wil not sync with Itunes 10.5 on Windows 7 64 bit.

Hi Guys, so I can synch my ipod nano fine with Itunes 10.5 but both my ipad 2 and Iphone 4 both will not sync, the synch or apply button is grayed out when I do any changes to the sync content like music or whatever.....
Any one know what could be the problem?

After multiple re-installs, the device now syncs, and yellow bar is replaced with a "more correct version", however i don't see any of my media files (music, photos, etc..) on the iphone. iTunes insists that they're on the iphone, but when i open, let's say, the music app, no music files are shown.
Any ideas?

If I understand correctly your iPad mini is not being recognized in iTunes on your Windows Vista PC. I would recommend you use the troubleshooting in the following article:
iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch not recognized in iTunes for Windows
Start with these steps and work your way down as needed:
Restart
Turn off your computer and your iOS device, then turn them on again.
Update your computer
Check to make sure that you've installed all required updates for your computer.
Update iTunes
Check that you have the latest version of iTunes installed on your computer.
Check the USB cable
Verify that the 30-pin to USB cable or Lightning Connector to USB cable is free of debris and not damaged. If another cable is available, test with that cable instead.
USB cables that are bundled with third-party products or accessories might work only to charge those products and might not transmit data. Also, if you're using a third-party case or extended battery pack, try removing the case and connecting the Apple-supplied USB cable directly to your device.

Issues with itunes 10.5 on Windows 7 (32 Bit) When Trying to sync iphone 4S or older

I see a lot of people out there, specifically windows OS owners (xp all the way to 7), having issues with iTunes 10.5. Here are the following issues I've encountered (some may only have one problem, others my have a combo pack of problems).
1. iphone 4S or older won't sync or backup
2. iTunes store won't open
The issue I found after using the diagnostics tool in iTunes (which is useless in identify scripting issues or major communication issues), reviewing the windows event log, and reinstalling all apple software and components, was the fact that my spyware and anti virus software was causing a communication error within apple's software. I use spyware doctor with anti virus. I had to uninstall spyware doctor in order for iTunes 10.5 to work. After that, everything worked well and I did a clean install of spyware doctor.
If the issue still persists, you might have to reset your internet protocol (TCP/IP). You have to run a command prompt as an administrator and enter the following: netsh winsock reset

Finally words: Apple, like all other software companies, continually encounter software glitches and issues because they don't test products correctly before bringing them to market- this has been a reoccurring theme for the last 2-3 years. The most important aspect of using any software should be functionality, efficiency, ease of use, and above all "A Positive End User Experience." Wasn't that Steve Job's mantra? We can all hope that Apple embraces his philosophy and vision for the many years to come. This, above all, is not a great start for Apple moving forward without their true inspirational leader.

Here is what worked for me for both 10.5 and 10.5.1 after hours of frustration with Itunes stopping and shutting down in the middle of a sync or tranferring Apps downloaded on my Ipad2 or Iphone 4:
Start iTunes in iTunes Safe Mode:
1. hold down the Shift and Control key together and click to start iTunes.
2. when you see the iTunes icon in the task bar, click on it.
3. you will get a box that says "iTunes is running in safe mode. Visual plug-ins you have installed have been termporarily disabled." [I don't know what plug-ins I installed but you should clearly see that these so-called visual plug-ins are likely the cause of your issues];
4. click Continue to open iTunes.
You could already have your device connected to your computer or do it after opening iTunes in its safe mode.
Now press your sync button and everything should work fine.
I also disabled Genius in iTunes preferences but I'm not sure if this is one of the issues causing these types of problems.
I hope this works. This may be the workaround for all of us Windows 7 64-bit folks.

Devices can only sync to one library at a time. You can, however, have multiple copies of libraries on different computers though it can be tricky making sure they are always synchronized. You can put your Windows iTunes on your Mac.
Moving a library: Quick answer if you use iTunes' default preferences settings: Copy the entire iTunes folder (and in doing so all its sub-folders and files) intact to the other drive. Hold down the option (alt) key (shift on Windows) and open iTunes. At the prompt to create or choose a library choose the copied iTunes folder.
When this is to a new computer put the copied iTunes folder in the default location of Macintosh HD > Users > *User Name* > Music then you don't even need to start with the option key held down, iTunes will automatically look for it there. (Make sure there isn't anything already in the iTunes folder there that you want to keep since you will be replacing it with the one you are moving.)

Iphone 4s w/ iOS5 will not sync

When I attempt to sync my iPhone I keep getting an error message that the required disks can not be found. I have iOS5 loaded currently. It has been working fine up until the past few days. I can't even run a back up to return to factory settings. Does any one have any suggestions?

Still major problems syncing with iTunes 9.1.1, Windows 7, 64-bit and iPhon

Downloaded the iTunes, 64-bit, 9.1.1 and installed from scratch. Attached my iPhone 3GS, 16GB with 8,75 GB free space!!! Still after three and a half hours it is still syncronizing, and have only completed two thirds... This is really below good enough, Apple!

same crap here and i only have 3gbs of space used out of a 16gb iphone 3gs...never a lick of problems until now.. i don't bother with music under 256 so i wouldn't dream of cheacking 128 conversion for that lousy sounding stuff.
windows 7 professional 64 bits and no issues at all until last update which added ipad...i wish i could go back but what a hassle as i keep my music on another drive and use pointers so not wanting to rebuild library other wise i would go back i have older version. today i did update as i have 2 issues slow syncing and BONJOUR!!!!
the bonjour will fill up event viewer with errors so i leave it disabled in services... no need for it but this shouldn't be happening.
what a clunker apple did to rush this out for lousy ipad. **** lucky i like phone otherwise i would blow apples software off for another phone.

IPhone 5 long voice memos not synced in iTunes

Hi,
Today, I've recorded 3 voice memo longer than 3 hours long on my iPhone 5, iOS8.
I've checked "sync Voice Memos" in the Music tab of iTunes 11.4 sync, but those new memo don't get synced.
By the way, looking into the "on my iPhone" tab, I can't see the recordings. I can see older recordings, though.
I can play all the voice memos on the iPhone, including the 3 recordings of today.
I've tried to send them via email but they don't get through, probably because they are too big.
AirDrop on iOS8 doesn't seem to be able to "speak" with Mac Os X 10.9.4's AirDrop.
Any way I can get those big recordings transferred ?

I found a solution.
Maybe it helps, if anybody has the asme issue.
Download iBrowse (http://www.ibrowseapp.com), and the recordings will be accessible, even those hidden by iTunes.
I could export my recordings with that software.
This is definitely a bug of iTunes or IOS, and if Apple reads this, they might want to fix it.

Since it seems App related, I'm not sure what to offer you. I guess the only suggestion I have is for you to reboot your iPad and then try again. To reboot, hold the power and home buttons at the same time for at least 10 seconds (keep holding past the swipe to shut down bar if it appears) until the Apple Logo appears, then let go of both buttons and your iPad will restart. You won't lose any settings or data, so it's worth a shot.

I have temporarily solved the sync problem by using an older MBAir running snow leopard, I exported
both calendar and contacts and imported them in the MBA and synced normally.
Since I'm not about to send my data on the cloud, or setup a server to just sync my iphone,
I think this is a good workaround ! BTW I stopped updating my contacts and calendar on the MB, I only
update the iphone until a permanent solution is found !
And they better come up with one soon, because I'll just switch to an Android phone and Ubuntu linux for my MBP, Apple should make our lives easier, not harder !
I'm sure Samsung is having a ball ever since the sync issue was made public !

No, it does not. It transfers purchases from the iDevice to the computer. The computer must be authorized for the Apple ID that the content was acquired with.

Same thing was happening to me. I had to restart my iBook. Then I just was able to sync back my iPhone 3G after restoring it for the second time.
