Iphone 4 won't charge at all

as the title says, suddenly it stopped charging.
Tryed with 4 diferrent cables, 2 iphone wall chargers, 1 ipad charger, and the USB port from my mac.
If your answer is going to be, take it to an apple store, that is impossible for me, i don't have any apple stores where i live.
Any ideas?  Already tryed doing a hard reset and nothing happens...
Thanks

I had a similar problem where the screen was blank and didn't appear to be charging, and wouldn't turn on.
Somewhere I found a suggestion to reset the phone, by holding the power button (top of iPhone on right hand side) and and home button (circle button at middle bottom of iPhone until the Apple symbol shows.  (In my case it's white Apple logo)
Made me very happy, phone works and don't need to buy a new battery.  Just yet.
Hope this works for you.

  • My Iphone 4 won't charge at all

My Iphone 4 has stopped charging. It started when it had about 60% bettery, I plugged it in to the wall charger and the only thing it did was change the battery icon into a plug instead of a lightning bolt. After that it just kept losing battery until it died. Even when it's dead it'll respond to the charger and the red battery icon with the lightning bolt under it will appear to say it's charging but it won't charge at all nor turn on. I have tried different chords, outlets, even plugging it into my laptop. Before it died I tried the hard reset several times by pressing the home button and lock button at the same time, but nothing happened. Itunes recognized my phone when i plugged it in but it still wouldn't charge. I'd appreciate it if anyone could help me with this problem.

    Get it serviced.

  • I just got a new ipod 5 and when I plugged in the charging cord that came with it, it says it is not supported, and may not charge. It worked the first few times, but now it won't charge at all.

    - Try another cable. Some 5G iPods were shipped with Lightning cable that were either initially defective or failed after short use.
    - Try another charging source
    - Inspect the dock connector on the iPod for bent or missing contacts, foreign material, corroded contacts, broken, missing or cracked plastic.
    - Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store. The cable as well as the iPod, is covered by the warranty.

  • I think my battery is fried.  It gets really hot sometimes when I charge it now it won't charge at all.  It froze up after the last update and I can't use it at all.

My phone froze up after last update and I can't use it at all.  I think the battery is fried as well.  It gets really hot sometimes when I charge it and now it won't charge at all.

Reset, hold both home and power buttons until the iPhone begins to start, usually takes about 10 seconds of holding both buttons. If still nothing try Reset while on Wall Charger, this can take about 20 seconds of holding both buttons while on Charger. If still nothing and you decide to Restore you iPhone with iTunes on computer, you may need to use DFU Mode Restore. Here are steps: Open iTunes on computer. Connect iPhone to computer with USB cable. Hold both Home and Power button, after exactly 10 seconds release the Power Button, keep holding the Home button until iTunes recognizes iPhone in Recovery Mode, usually about 20 seconds time. If the iPhone screen is black, blank this is DFU Mode. Click the Restore button of iTunes. DFU Mode can be difficult to enter sometimes, just keep trying. DFU Mode is a black, blank screen with iTunes saying Recovery Mode.

  • My iPad mini won't charge at all. I got it for Chrisrmas and it is still in brand new condition and it was fine but now it won't charge at all! It used to charge in an exact position but now it has stopped altogether...Help!!

My iPad mini won't charge at all. I got it for Christmas off my dad and it is still in brand new condition. Until the other day it has been working fine but until yesterday or the day before my charger went all funny. In order to charge my iPad mini you had to put the charger in an exact place and if someone so much as touched it it would stop charging because it wasn't in its exact position. But today I tried to charge it again and I tried getting it in the same spot as yesterday but it is not working at all. I have only ever charged my iPad mini in the wall but I have seen posts about people charging it in the USB in an computer. So I thought I would also try that but that hasn't worked either and now my iPad mini won't charge in a plug or USB and I live really far away from an apple store and I can't get a new charger also because I live far away from the store. So what shall I do?

When and where was the iPad/charger purchased? It's covered by a 1-year warranty.
The problem may be the USB cable.

  • My iphone won't start at all and slowly started to fade out

my iphone won't charge from Dec 31 midnight. well first it was freezing, and i lock it then i plug the charger. but it doesn't turn on until morning - right now actually. i already restore it and it was working but it freeze again! i reboot it over and over but black dots started to show up and the screen started to fade out. according to my experience, the screen were burned. is it means that i should go to the store for fixing it or i should get a new phone? HELP!

Did you try booting into your Recovery partition? Hold down the command and R keys whilst booting and if you can get to your Recovery partition use Disk Utility to verify your disk and, if needed, repair the disk.
If it can't be repaired, then it's likely dying.

  • My ipad won't charge.  All I get is picture of white USB cable and iTunes Logo.

My ipad won't charge.  I must admit, I did use it until there was only 2% power left and then went and plugged directly into power and not through PC... but it won't charge.  All I get is picture of white USB cable, an arrow and the iTunes Logo.  I have turned off and on again as previous posts but all I get is the picture of the USB cable, arrow and iTunes logo.  Please help...

I have been relatively patient - 3 hours on charge but all it does is show picture of USB cable and itunes logo. It it were charging you would think that a picture of the charge would come up to indicate status of charge - wouldn't you think?

  • My original Ipad is dead and won't charge at all. I've tried numerous chargers. How do I know if the iPad is "broke"?

My original Ipad is dead and won't charge at all. I've tried numerous chargers. How do I know if the iPad is "broke"?

Aside from taking it in to a certified Apple Repair shop, this may be a sign that it is dead.  Or there could some kind of damage to the connectors on the charge port.  I am guessing on that part because I am assuming that the other chargers you have used work for other devices.  It may be time to look into buying a new one if it is dead.

  • My iPhone 3GS won't charge at all what do I do?

my iPhone wont charge please help!

    Regarding iPhone 3GS won't charge:
I have the same iPhone, and also sync with  iTunes on my Mac Book Pro computer.  After just a few months after purchasing my NEW iPhone 3GS, the charger stopped working and would not show up on the computer.  After trouble shooting my equipment, I discovered that the USB CORD was no longer working, NOT the AC Jack Component. My phone was still under warranty for 1year with Apple Care and extended purchased insurance  with VerizonWireless.  I contacted VerizonWireless as per my contract agreement, and was transferred to Apple Care Support.  Apple Care informed me: A new [Apple Manufactured Original Equipment parts] would be replaced free of charge, BUT, I would first need to secure the return of the defective equipment with a deposit of the purchase price on my credit card. After the receipt of my returned defective equipment, my credit card would be credited back for the full deposit amount.  This was NOT acceptable to me.  I called Verizon and they mailed me a new [VerizonWireless Manufactured part] USB Cord. After a time, I had to replace that USB cord also. Apparently the USB Cord burns out after a time of use.  SOLUTION; I keep about 4 new USB Cords in stock at home!!  You may also need to check if your iPhone software is up to date, this could effect it's performance also.
    Hope this helps

  • Iphone won't charge after overheat warning

Ok so every night I go to sleep I plug in my phone to charge, play some youtube videos or listen to music or podcasts( on the official apple app) until i fall asleep and every morning I have woken up to a fully charged phone, I have been doing this for about 1Year and 5Months no issues, however about a week ago I fell asleep listen to a podcast, whilst my phone was charging, when I woke up  the next morning I went to grab my phone and found that there was an overheating warning, i mean It was so hot I couldn't hold the phone for more than five seconds, so I placed it on my window sill(outside) for five minutes and it cooled down and worked perfectly, next few nights I listened to music and the issue didn't occur, however, two nights ago I listens to a podcast again and when I woke up the next morning my phone was 100% charged but boiling again with the heat warning, this time I hung it in front of my fan until it cooled down, after a full days use of my phone( no performance issues) I went to charge it up, this night I did not listen to anything, when I woke up the next morning 10hours later my phone had gone from 10% battery to only 18%, it had been like it ever since and just won't charge, is there an issues withy charging dock on my phone or my battery? Many thanks
(i have already cleaned charging dock with toothbrush and tried different sockets and leads)

    (SOLVED)
After 10+ hours, Since it works in the BIOS screens, I decided to wipe the drivers.
Plugged my phone into a driverless windows and it works fine.
The reinstalled drivers did not work for me because I didn't manually wipe the driver files
Plugged my plugged my iPhone in and everything suddenly works
Next I have to go to war with my malfunctioning windows update
Thanks zelous for the suggestion, though it didn't work because my iPhone wouldn't connect at all. it did point me in the right direction. Thanks!

  • IMAC, iMovie, iPhoto will not recognize iPhone, won't charge either

    Hello All:
I just took some video with my iPhoto 3GS, and connected my iPhone to my iMac only to find that:
iPhone is not recognized by either iTunes, iPhoto or iMovie and what's more it won't charge. That is, my iMAC can't detect iPhone as a connected device. I went to the Apple support page and ran through all of the troubleshooting steps (except clean uninstall and reinstall of iTunes.)
As a control, I connected iPhone to my MacBook and all fine: it charges, iTunes recognizes it as a connected device, as do iPhoto and iMovie.
This is a new thing, as when I got the iPhone a month or so ago, I used my iMac to initialize it.
All software up to date, all USB ports on iMAC work, cable is fine.
The ONLY new software I have loaded since I last used iPhone and iMAC together is Snapz Pro X (trial), so I did a thorough (and I mean thorough) uninstall of that...no change.
I live in Spain, so my closest Genius Bar is London, and I'm not flying up with a 24"iMAC under my arm!
    Any help?
    Steve

Isn't it always the last place you look for something is where you'll find it?
Last night when I made the post I was just too tired to delete iTunes and go through the Libraries to scrub out the files.
This morning, with a Cappuccino I did it.
Reloaded a fresh copy of iTunes...all better now.
Perhaps Apple support on this topic should change "on rare occasions you will need to reinstall iTunes" to "you will need to reinstall".
    Anyway, better now.
BTW: the reason all this happened is because I wanted to transfer iPhone videos to my Mac to work on them in iMovie. iMovie won't recognise the iPhone, but, Image Capture does!! Just offloaded the 10 vids from iPhone in .mov format. I'm good to go.
Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night!

  • IPhone won't charge, won't sync, won't do anything...

My (1 month old) iPhone 3GS won't charge. Not via USB, or mains adapter. It just flashes up the "battery almost empty please charge me" icon even when plugged in. When plugged into the computer a message comes up "USB Over Current Notice. A USB device is currently drawing too much power. The hub to which it is attached to will be deactivated". The USB drive(s) are fine, all other things plugged in work absolutely fine so it's definitely the iPhone.
I have spoken to Apple via my Service Provider (Orange). The woman said she was sending me a list of things to try, though since I can't even turn the phone on or plug it in to the computer I can't really do anything. However her email hasn't even arrived. Can anyone help me with a list of things that I should try (which is presumably what she is supposed to have sent me) so I can get back to them and get a new iPhone? I need to be contactable for work and this is a real problem.

I don't have any other USB devices connected - I've just tried others to check that its the phone not hte computer. All others devices work fine when connected. Surely it's the phone not the computer - as I said it won't even charge when plugged directly into the main using the iPhone mains charger?
The OS on this laptop is actually 10.5.8. Will try restarting it again now but I think my other half tried that last night

  • My iPhone won't charge! Help! Please see my situation!

I usually leave my iPhone on charge either connected to an outlet or connected to my Macbook overnight. One morning I had it wake me up because it kept vibrating. I thought it was a call or txt messages. When I checked, it was constantly going on and off charge. So I disconnected it and went back to bed. The next day, my phone's battery was reaching 0% so I wanted to charge it. I connected it to my laptop but it wasn't detected by iTunes and it wasn't charging at all. My phone ended up dying and I started searching up for a solution on Google. I've tried hard resetting, different cords, power outlets and usb outlets. I've tried on my Macbook AND my PC. My iPhone stays dead. I'd like to see if there's another option to fix it at home. If **** hits the fan, I'll go to an Apple store. Thanks ahead of time and goodluck to all that are trying to get their product fixed!

    Hi sbaredo,
Sounds like you have done all of the troubleshooting that you can do at home. Think it it time to take a trip to the Apple Store!
