IPhone 4 won't recognize music in Honda Insight w/usb

I have been connecting my iPhone 4 through a usb cable in the car and able to listen to Pandora or music from my music library on the phone. Now (without my having changed anything, no upgrades), it will recognize and play Pandora and recognizes the music from my phone; on the car screen it says ( i.e. 12/12 songs), but won't play anything. The iphone screen under music simply says "Accessory connected". Using iOS6.0.1. Frustrating! Any suggestions?

I'll try that next. The puzzling part is that it always worked before, I could play all my music through the USB in the car with the stereo speakers. Why it would still play Pandora yet now not play my iPhone music is odd. Any ideas on that? Thanks for your help.

Hi Guys
Could someone help me. My iphone connects to my car through a USB connector and works fine. When I also connect to my car Bluetooth the sound dissapears after a minute or so. My display still shows the song playing but no sound. I can still go through play lists change track etc but no noise. If I unplug the cable and plug back in again it will work again and after another minute or so the sound cuts out again. Sometimes it won't play at all.
It seems to work fine if the bluetooth isn't connected although I have not tested this extensively.
I have tried in 2 other cars to make sure it isn't a fault with the car and I get the same result.
It isn't linked to any software upgrade.
Has anybody else heard of this or know a solution????

Just to update for the last time. I have realised that if the bluetooth is paired to the car the music sound either does not play or plays for around a minute then cuts out. This still happens even if I disconnect the bluetooth connection. However if I delete the phone completely out at the car and cancel the pairing, the music plays fine no issues.
I guess somehow it is therefore based around the bluetooth. I have checked all menus I can find on the car and the phone to make sure there is no setting wrong somewhere. I cannot understand why it plays for a short time and then stops, seems like an intermittant fault ???

If it now says "invalid" or "unsupported" SIM, your iPhone was almost certainly hacked to unlock it from the original cell carrier and updating has now removed that hack and the iPhone has relocked back to that original carrier. You will have to contact that carrier and ask if it would be possible to get your iPhone officially unlocked.

iPhone 5 won't recognize (or be recognized by) my iPad with bluetooth. There was no issues in the past when I used my iPhone 4...but the iP5 won't recognize the iPad. Ironically, it will recognize bluetooth headphones. Am I missing something?

My iPhone 4S was working perfectly fine, but now my laptop suddenly won't recognize it! This all started after I bought a new charger for my laptop. My other one quit working, so I bought a replacement, and now I'm having this problem. I'm not sure if that has anything to do with it, but I figured I would mention it.
Anyways, when I plug it in, it will charge, but it won't show up in My Computer or in iTunes. I know it's not the cable or the phone itself, because other computers will recognize it. Thank you for the details of the issue you are experiencing with Wi-Fi on your iPhone. I recommend the following article and specifically steps 4 and 6 for the situation you described. Step 4 says to restart your phone, but if you click on the link in step 4, you will get the steps to reset your iPhone as well.

ITunes Suddenly Won't Recognize Music Files

I have synced my iPod with my Toshiba laptop more times than I can count. When I opened iTunes this morning, iTunes did not show any of my music/podcasts, etc. After a moment of panic, I realized that everything was still on my computer and in my iPod, but it is as if this was a brand new version of iTunes. iTunes also "sses" my iPod, but will not let me change anything. I seem to recall accepting an automatic upgrade of iTunes recently (is this what I get for not using Safari?) but I think I have used iTunes since then. What gives? Do I need to reconstruct my library in iTunes? If so, will I lose my Playlists? Did the upgrade cause this problem?

yes i can play them with other players. i've tried 6.0.1 still the same problem. i had cleared my library, files kept of course, and just added my music folder to the library. they were all there before. i think it won't recognize cds that i've imported using musicmatch and itunes in the past. does anyone know why? thanks

Hello. I've been having this problem for over a month now. My iphone 4 won't sync any of my music from my itunes library. I have tried a HUGE number of things. It does not seem to be related to itunes match issues.
I am trying to sync with my phone connected via USB. I cannot seem to get the wifi connection between my computer and device.
I am at a loss, and extremely angered that I cannot listen to my music. What should I try next? Am I missing something? What do I try next?

I've been thinking and playing a bit too. It turns out I sync all my music (successfully), but if I were to only sync a part, here's what my music sync page would look like:
The big difference I see is I don't have collections - and never did. Anyway, I'm wondering if the issue is somewhere in your computer's music library having gotten confused somewhere along the line. I suspect you've had your iTunes setup for a long time (many years). It would be drastic, but I'm wondering if you would consider some iTunes library reorganization processes. Of course, I understand if you don't want to go this way.
One option is to delete the iTunes database file, but that would delete all your playlists, song ratings, etc. It would then be rebuilt from scratch. That's very drastic, but here's a writeup about it: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1660
Another option is to do something like go to iTunes' Preferences > Advanced and check "Keep iTunes Media FIle Organized." Or from iTunes' Files menu item, you could choose Library > Organize Library and then one of the two following choices (probaby "Reorganize Files ...).
Finally one thing you do that I've never seen before is in your summary options area, you are converting higher bit rates to 256K AAC. I've never seen that, and hope converting MP3 to AAC doesn't cause you problems. This little snip from iTunes' help just aroused my suspicion a bit about this action:

I have this problem too, start with verifing your email. go through the google help/support page, there you will get a link to verify your account on your iPhone.

I have a iPhone 4 and it's a few months old. Yesterday morning I plugged it in and it charged.. everything was fine. I went to plug it in when it was around 9% and it wouldn't recognize that it was plugged in. So I tried different chargers, different sockets, wall vs USB... Nothing did it. I tired to hard reset, but the only thing that happens when I hold down the sleep and home button is the icon that says I need to plug it in to something. An Apple won't appear and I it won't reset.
I left it plugged into the wall outlet over night; still got no where and tried everything listed above. Perhaps it is the charge port? I am not sure..Any ideas on what to do next?

My Macbook did the same thing. The adapter quit charging one morning. I bought a new magsafe from Apple, and after some "discussion" A new battery was also sent=Gratis.
Unfortunately, even after hours on the phone with tech support my laptop will not charge despite a new battery and a new adapter. I have of course followed to the letter all of the recommended software updates including power/management/memory/reset programming with the assistance of tech support. I reinstalled the operating system numerous times as well. My laptop won't charge since the day six months ago it suddenly failed. It was perfect until that moment. There MUST be an explanation, yes, the adapter sending grounded power perhaps, causing a .25 cent diode to fail. Sad that the circuit board was not gated for better protection from a short circuit.

I recently updated my iOS on my Iphone 3Gs and it won't sync any of my music or photo's. I'm extremely frustrated and annoyed that I can't put any of my music or photo's onto my Iphone as the new iOS (5.1) won't sync.
I've done everything I can think of. I've done everything people have said that would work for them from the internet and nothing has worked. I need help!

I changed my Apple ID and now the iPhone iCloud won't recognize it.

I changed my Apple ID after changing email adresses. My iPhone 5 recognizes the new ID for iTunes etc. but when I try to access iCloud from it, the phone won't let me access my account. It tries to get mwoe to sign on with my old ID and I can't figure out how to change it!

I have the same problem, Apple told me to change the apple id back to the old email address and then I would be able to log into icloud on my phone. Once you remove it from your phone through the settings menu you should be able to activate a new one once you have changed your apple id back to your new one.
Mine didn't work as I had "special characters" included in my old ID and apple still haven't told me how to rectify.

I have an iPhone 5s that is less than a year old. For the past month now I have not been able to sync music from my computer onto the phone. I can transfer music and playlists and apps etc from my phone to iTunes on my computer but not vice versa. I have managed to sync the music to my iPad 1st Gen with no issues which is funny considering it's a much older device.
I can still download songs on my phone from the iTunes app perfectly fine it's just getting music from my computer to the iPhone which I'm having trouble with.
I decided to update both my itunes and iphone to the latest versions/iOS but neither has made a difference.

I had to delete all my playlists on the phone. Then I synced it with my iTunes/music and it finally placed my new music back on my phone.

IPhone 6 won't play music

I just got my new iPhone 6 and restored my 4s to it. All the apps loaded up, but only Kenny Loggins songs will play. When I push the play button from the quick menu that pops up from the bottom of the screen, there is no response for about 17 seconds (it shows the name of the song, but no music plays). Then the screen goes black with a white apple. Then 11 seconds later my welcome screen appears.
If I try to play a song from the Music app, the music does not play and the phone get's hot pretty quickly.
The iPhone started life as a mp3 player. Now it does everything but play mp3's.

IPhone 4S won't play music from internal speaker

My iPhone 4S is having an issue with the internal speaker. Originally, I was able to play music from iTunes, Pandora, videos, etc. w/out having headphones or an external speaker system connected to the audio input. Now, the phone isn't playing back sound from the internal speaker, unless I have headphones/speaker connected. Keyboard clicks and text message alerts are also not coming through, even though that option is turned on. The Ring/Silent button is on, the volume is on high, and I've also restarted the phone a few times. The only way I've got the internal speaker to play w/out having an external speaker system connected to the audio input is if I test different ringers; then it will playback, but not for any other audio format (videos, songs, keyboard clicks, etc.)
Any ideas on how to fix this issue? I'm out of ideas...Thank you!!
