IPhone 4 won't transfer wma audiobook after ios 5 upgrade

I have always "checked out" audiobooks from my library website. I like the .wma audiobooks best because they actually transfer into my "audiobooks" where mp3 books go into my music. I use Overdrive Media Console to transfer from the library website to my phone. Since I've upgraded to ios5 itunes won't transfer. It keeps giving me an error message "iTunes can't sinc because the file cannot be located." Has anyone else had this problem or know how to fix it??

After upgrading to the latest iOS, neither of my iPhones will sync music from iTunes. When I synced, I lost all of my music on my iPhone. I still see everything in iTunes, but it does not sync any music to the iPhone and what was there was delete.

This is almost embarassing. For some totally unexplainable reason all the songs in iTunes were unchecked. I was considering syncing the whole iTunes library to my iPnone, tut even with the 32 Gb version it would not hold it all. I restarted my MBP, and the message about the unchecked songs came up. It obviously is not enough to have songs checked for the iPhone. Thanks anyway.

Today is the 1st time I've tried to sync & backup my iphone since updating to the recent os4 software. My phone keeps rebooting in the middle of backing up! I've run a diagnostic and all is well. I've tried restarting my pc but no fix. Everything seems fine up until the backup part then I notice the phone with that circle thingy then it makes that chime sound when u plug it up to charge. So it starts to sync & backup then reboots itself over & over. Has anyone else experienced this problem? Can somebody plz help me? Thanks for any assistance.

Try resetting the sync history by going into iSync.
You can get there from your applications folder.
Once you open iSync, go into the preferences of iSync and reset the sync history.

Try this - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.) No data/files will be erased.

2: If the device appears in iTunes, select and click Restore on the Summary pane.

This did not help the problem. History of problems that started 3 days ago before 6.1 update:
Problems started with the phone dropping a call I was on. Then the screen had lines across it, then screen turned solid green.
Powered off the iphone.
Happened again 4 hours later. Dropped call then garbed screen. Powered off then back on all seemed okay.
Applyed 6.1 yesterday in the morning. Phoned died completely last night. Plugged in over night and it came back up this morning.
Phone is still within 1 year warranty. Should I just have Apple replace the phone (Warranty runs out in 2 weeks)

Can you try to connect to another computer?
DFU mode would be the last thing to try before contacting Apple Support or visiting an Authorized Apple Service Provider or Apple Store.

Deleted the SMTP setting
Recreated the SMTP using the same settings
Able to send emails now
No logic - as usual - just a bug!

I bought a Sandisk Connect Media Drive, downloaded the app from iTunes. Before iOS 8, movies played fine. After iOS upgrade I can no longer play movies downloaded from iTunes to the media drive. Anyone else have a similar issue?

I checked with SanDisk's own online support and they indicate that they have notified Apple of the issue.
According to SanDisk, the problem lies with Apple not having the iOS 8 version of the Safari browser having DRM decoding enabled that the Media Drive relies upon to decode and play iTunes DRM titles. Non DRM encoded videos will play in the browser.
DRM audio is not effected as this is handled by the native iOS music app.
As of the date of this post SanDisk have not been given a timeframe by Apple for this issue to be resolved.
I hope that Apple resolves this issue quickly as I have a large collection of DRM video titles on a 128Mb memory card installed in the Media Drive that I am unable to view.

Just get an Apple Logo then a flashing blue screen as if it is caught booting up. This has happened twice before and iTunes restore fixed it. But this time device not appearing in iTunes.
Running iTunes for PC. But as stated restore has worked before! Any help greatly appreciated!!

Place the device in DFU mode and let iTunes restore the device to factory condition.

I know exactly what you mean. I got that as well. On a few of them, when I opened the websites using the generic test screen icons and then closed them, they changed back to the way that they should look. For the ones that did not change, I recreated the home screen shortcuts and deleted the generic looking ones - the test screen icons.
And don't get me started on iBooks.
For the very limited use that I make of the iBooks app, i haven't noticed any problems, but I rarely use the app. I don't read books on the iPad other than a few user guides and if they are pdf guides, they reside in more reliable and feature rich pdf apps on my iOS device.
I wish that I had the fix for the spinning activity icon, but everything that I try, is temporary at best. IMO, this is the buggiest iOS update that I have seen, and I have been using iOS devices since iOS 3 on my first iPad. I realize that there are plenty of people that are not experiencing issues, but I have seen a number of weird things that I wish I could fix. None of my problems are major, but they are annoying.

Two switches below are working fine as a stack with IOS c3750e-universalk9-mz.122-55.SE5.bin & ipbase license.
Switch#1 (Master, WS-C3750X-24P-S)
Switch#2 (Member, WS-C3750X-24P-S)
After IOS Upgrade to c3750e-universalk9-mz.150-2.SE7.bin, The stack was broken. Switch#2 didn’t recognise valid ipbase license with new IOS and came up with lanbase license instead. Therefore stack cannot be composed due to license mismatch between Switch#1 (ipbase) and switch#2(lanbase).
I’m wondering why Switch#2 didn’t recognise ipbase license with new IOS even though IPASE is running well with previous IOS.
Here is excerpt from “show version” with 15.x image on Switch#2.

I have fixed the issue by configuring 'license boot level ipbase' on the member switch#2. The switch recognised IPBASE license well and joined the stack successfully.

Installing an iOS update does not add a physical button.
As for the "No SIM" message, try removing and reinserting the SIM or replacing the SIM.

I forgot to mention earlier: if you find that on-screen typing is very slow to register then you might try logging out of iCloud and iTunes and the App Store in Settings/iCloud/[Delete Account] and Settings/iTunes and App Store/Apple ID [Sign Out]. Then reset the phone (press sleep/wake and home buttons together and hold until Apple logo appears), and then log back into iCloud and iTunes and the App Store in Settings again.

Workaround for Overdrive WMA Audiobooks on iOS 5

Hello - I stumbled across a workaround to the problem of Overdrive WMA library audiobooks appearing on the device as playlists rather than audiobooks in iOS 5. There are so many threads about this problem that I could not decide where to post this where it would do the most good, so I started a new thread. I hope that is not a problem, but if it is I'm sure someone will tell me. lol.
My specs:
iPhone 4s
iOS 5.0.1
Overdrive Media Console 3.2.1.0
iTunes 10.5.3.3
Windows 7
Download a freeware product called iPhone Folders (PC only, unfortunately). This lets you search the contents of your device in windows explorer.Note: There is another freeware product called iExplorer that runs on Mac and PC. It shows more information about files than iPhone Folders -- timestamp, for example -- but doesn't seem to have a search function, which is needed for Step 5 below. Could be I just didn't look hard enough though. Also does not let you open the file directly from its interface, which you'll need to do in Step 6 below.
Download your Overdrive WMA audiobook.
With Overdrive and iTunes open and your device connected, transfer the audiobook from Overdrive to your device. In the Device section of iTunes, you should see the book files under "Books", and there should be a playlist for each book.
From "Computer" in Windows Explorer, view the contents of your device. The music files, including your library audiobooks, are located in subfolders under "iTunes-Control".
Do a search for *.m4b. You should get the same number of results as the number of audiobook parts you downloaded/transferred.
Double-click each m4b file so that it plays for a few seconds in iTunes. For whatever reason, this causes the library book to appear in the "Library" section of iTunes, under "Audiobooks".
When you've played each part as in Step 6, check your library audiobooks section to be sure that all the parts for each book are listed.
Go to the "Device" section and delete the playlist under "Books" AND all of the book files.
Drag the book that appeared in your library during Step 6 to your device.
The audiobook should now appear under audiobooks on your device.
Some notes:
iPhone Folders will let you search for the .m4b files, but of course they are all named with four random letters and no properties are displayed (album, artist, etc. Not even modification date.). This means that if you have a lot of books, don't lose track of what you've clicked on and miss one, or you'll have to start all over at Step 5.
I have no idea why this works. It is tedious and a bit time-consuming, depending on how many parts you have, however as serious audiobook listeners know, audiobooks REALLY need to be in the audiobook section. Playlists just don't cut it.
It's not clear to me whether it is Apple, Overdrive or both who need to fix their software to make this sort of kludgy workaround unnecessary, but I hope they get it straightned out soon. Like before I run through my current batch of library audiobooks.

Also, I figured out how it works: playing the m4b causes iTunes to create a temporary copy of the file. If you go back later & try to open a book file from the library, it will not be found. So basically once you've copied the books from the library back to the device you can delete the library copy.
