when i first open firefox homepage (opens with google as set by firefox) after about 3 seconds the page freezes and cannot be closed or minimised. i have to open second homepage to shut pc down or continue to use pc. this has only happened since i installed firefox 4. what do i do to fix this
I have had a similar problem with my system. I just recently (within a week of this post) built a brand new desktop. I installed Windows 7 64-bit Home and had a clean install, no problems. Using IE downloaded an anti-virus program, and then, because it was the latest version, downloaded and installed Firefox 4.0. As I began to search the internet for other programs to install after about maybe 10-15 minutes my computer crashes. Blank screen (yet monitor was still receiving a signal from computer) and completely frozen (couldn't even change the caps and num lock on keyboard). I thought I perhaps forgot to reboot after an update so I did a manual reboot and it started up fine.
When ever I got on the internet (still using firefox) it would crash after anywhere between 5-15 minutes. Since I've had good experience with FF in the past I thought it must be either the drivers or a hardware problem. So in-between crashes I updated all the drivers. Still had the same problem. Took the computer to a friend who knows more about computers than I do, made sure all the drivers were updated, same problem. We thought that it might be a hardware problem (bad video card, chipset, overheating issues, etc.), but after my friend played around with my computer for a day he found that when he didn't start FF at all it worked fine, even after watching a movie, or going through a playlist on Youtube.
At the time of this posting I'm going to try to uninstall FF 4.0 and download and install FF 3.6.16 which is currently on my laptop and works like a dream. Hopefully that will do the trick, because I love using FF and would hate to have to switch to another browser. Hopefully Mozilla will work out the kinks with FF 4 so I can continue to use it.
I apologize for the lengthy post. Any feedback would be appreciated, but is not necessary. I will try and post back after I try FF 3.16.6. -

Since the last IOS update, I still can't drag distribution lists from my contacts to my email. Apple has been absolutely no help, in spite of contacting them 5 times on this subject. Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated.

I have 8 mbs of broadband but it does not seem to be adequate for using Facetime or Viber. I lose the connection via Facetime every few minutes and Viber doesn't work at all. It always says that the network connection is poor yet it's showing a full signal on the phone. It was a lot better before the last software update. has anybody else had this problem.

KevinCS2 is very old and reached its "end of life" a while back. So probably won't run on modern operating systems. If you can still run it, you'll need to uninstall what you have and re-install with the download link below to activate it.

This happens every time I click on a button or text that does something like, after entering some information then clicking on say, a button to "Continue". The screen freezes and the little symbol on the left hand side of the tab stops rotating, but starts as soon as I move the mouse. If I stop moving the mouse the screen freezes again. I also have installed on my computer the application, '''SafeCentral''', which I know uses Firefox. This problem has only been encountered since I updated to version 6 and also when SafeCentral update the Firefox version they use.

I think you have identified the problem straight away, well done!
I first encountered the problem a couple of months ago with an update on Safe Central, (protected environment) software. SC uses the Firefox browser. I won't insult you by explaining what the program does, I'm sure know better that I. I didn't have this problem with Version 5 of Firefox, so I conclude the easiest way to solve this issue would be for me to uninstall v. 6 and reinstall V. 5. As I only use SC for online shopping I can live with this miner irritation. I also notice the Trend Micro Toolbar, though it appears on the Firefox screen, does not monitor the web sites or check email addresses.
So the TM boffins also have a problem with V.6, but I wager they aren't aware of it yet. Just in closing, I also use Chrome and Internet Explorer that work perfectly well. The problem defiantly lies with Mozilla.

Even when I start firefox I have to sit here and wait for it to tell me a script on this page is not responding or has quit working. Once that happens which takes a while, I can say stop script and it moves on. I've always liked using firefox and have never had a problem in the past, however if I can't get this particular problem fixed, and I've tried many ways to do this, I may have to change to another browser. I would hope that you could find out why this is happening to me before I make that decision. One other thing, I am using the dreaded Vista OS.

If it is good in the Firefox SafeMode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to figure out which one. <br />

I go to settings and switch "Automatic time" off and then back on. It works for a while, but then just goes back to being off. I've tried manually setting the time, but it just goes back to what it was before. If I send a text, it sends and then disapears. I can't see what I wrote! I went in to Apple to try and get it fixed, but they just restored my phone. It's still not working. Please help!
It's not hacker or a virus. You are experiencing what a number of users of iOS 5 are experiencing now - sluggish or less than perfect iPad performance. It seems that for some of us - memory management has gotten a little out of whack with this most recent update. Some of the basic troubleshooting steps that you can try are ....
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
Close apps in the recents tray. Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Quit/close open apps by double tapping the home button and the task bar will appear with all of you recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner to close the apps. Restart the iPad. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
If you have Safari crashing issues - Go to Settings>Safari>Clear History, Cookies and Data. Restart the iPad. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
None of these steps should be necessary as part of your daily routine - the iOS is supposed to handle all of this without any user input. Once again - for some of us - the iOS is letting us down.
Until Apple releases another update that resolves this issue for the "few" that suffer, keep these steps in mind and use them as needed. -
Filling in forms and clicking continue no longer works since the last Firefox update. Please help!
Since downloading the latest update for firefox, I can no longer complete forms or orders online. I click continue and it keeps me where I am only the form is once again blank. Is there A filter setting I can change or what can be done so I can operate on this firefox as I did before the update? I changed the default value to 2, and that at least made a download appear in the download window. However, if I close the window and reopen it, it's blank again. And it won't show more than one download going at once. AND I can't pause or cancel downloads.
I really don't want to reset Firefox, but I suppose I will if I have to. -

my laptop recenty went kaput and needed a new hardrive which was installed. When I got it back I downloaded itunes again and then bought some music. I connected my iphone and it would not allow me to transfer the music over to the iphone at all. It allowed me to pull all the music on my phone over to the itunes list which I realised at that point did have my usual music list on it. I can't seem to transfer any music purchased over to my iphone for love or money. This is happening to my brother on his itunes account also and he said it's happened since the last update on his. Any suggestions - I'm quite desperate as this is driving me nuts.

Yes, but they are different firms and O2 Ireland sell locked phones as far as I know so the german sim is not meant to work.
From Apples site O2 Eire can unlock but not sure how well that would work if you are back in Germany now, as it usually needs to be active in the carriers country on their network. -

Check the headphone jack with a flashlight and clean it if necessary. The jack on a new Nano is very tight, be sure you push the headset jack all the way in, the plastic on the headset jack should be flush with the body of the Nano.
