Iphone 4G and wireless keyboard ... Not connecting

I'm just adding to the thread.. I have the same situation with my iPhone 4 and the original apple wireless keyboard.
In Settings/General/Bluetooth:
The phone bluetooth goes into discovery mode.
Displays the name of the keyboard and says "Not Paired"
I click the keyboard name and I get a spinning "apple clock" and nothing happens
I have waited for it to time-out and tried again and still nothing.
If I hit the Return key on the keyboard I get a very brief message giving me a passcode followed by a box saying "could not pair with Michael's keyboard"
Every time I try it I get a different 4 digit passcode number.
Keyboard connects fine with Mini-mac and is disabled when II try to connect on iPhone.
Please only educated responses. Went to Apple store and "genius" "lol" told me "oh, keyboards have passcode of 1111. I immediately called him an idiot for making ** up. I wish they would just say they don't know.

I am having the exact same problem when trying to pair my iPhone 4 with apple bluetooth keyboard. Did you find the solution, hockeystick23?

I just got an iPhone 4s, and I can not connect it with my iTunes from my previous account. I have already tried making another account, however it says that I have the wrong security code even though this is not true. What should I do?

Contact iTunes support.  There's a link to it on the bottom of every page in the iTunes store.

I have an Iphone 5 and it will not connect to any WIFI networks - I have tried following the steps above (including reseting network settings) but it just says 'incorrect password' every time. How can I resolve this?

you have definitely tried the correct steps, all you would need to do now is a back up & restore to factory settings. If after that the issue remains then you would most likely need a replacement unit.

  • I have an iphone 4s, and i can not connect to any wirless router through wifi??

i have an iphone 4s and i can not connect to any wirless router using wifi, the only way it to put it in the freezer for a few minutes and the i only get like 5 minutes of wifi time and the the connection drops again and the phone can not even recognize the network??
    any help??!!

Seriously...and where did you get this tech tip? You do realize that all iPhone 4S's are still under warranty, although there's a very good chance your freezer trick has tripped a moisture sensor, thus voiding your warranty. Make an appointment at an Apple store, but be prepared for bad news. Good luck.

  • Apple Bluetooth Wireless Keyboard not Connecting to iPad

Hey, I try to connect my Apple Bluetooth Wireless Keyboard is not connecting to my iPad. I tap Bluetooth "On" and it searches for devices. Then I slide the switch on the back of my keyboard to the green light and the iPad picks it up and says "Not Paired." So I tap the keyboard and it just spins and spins and spins until the keyboard times out and powers off. Then it disappears and my iPad can't find any devices. I repeated the process several times and I got the same result.
    Any help would be appreciated!
    Thanks

I had a very similar problem, with a new model wireless keyboard. The set-up is not very intuitive (and the instructions for both the iPad and the keyboard are not particularly helpful). Here's how I got it to work:
    1. If the keyboard has already been paired with another object -- e.g., I was testing out my iMac keyboard -- you should be completely out of range of that other object (more than 30 feet away).
    2. Make sure Bluetooth on the iPad is disabled.
    3. The keyboard should not be "on" -- i.e., no solid green light.
    4. Press and hold the power button on the keyboard until you get a blinking green light. This should take just a few seconds.
    5. Turn on Bluetooth on the iPad.
    6. At this point, it should detect the keyboard and instruct you to enter a combination of keys to pair the two devices.
I found that you have to follow this sequence or it won't work. For example, if you have Bluetooth on on the iPad before holding the power button on the keyboard, it won't work.
    I hope that helps.

  • Why is the battery charger for the magic mouse and wireless keyboard not included in the package when I bought my iMac?

I was not given a choice or let known that I would receive wireless keyboard and mouse that requires charging. If I had known earlier I would have asked for non-wireless devices or bought the charger on spot.
The charger should've been a given and not be considered as a separate accessory that requires to be bought. This is the same as having bought an iPhone but not given the charger.
I am very disappointed with Apple regarding this matter. I hope it'll be resolved soon.

Oh, okay now I see where you're coming from. Sorry, I didn't know that they provided us with non-rechargeable batteries instead.
Well in that case, they should've provided us with rechargeable batteries instead of the alkaline ones. I mean, the sole purpose of having wireless mouse/keyboard is the purpose of convenience. Having to replace the batteries (that don't last very long from my experience) does not seem convenient to me.
What's more, by providing users with non-rechargeable batteries is not an environmentally friendly choice as this results in an increase in disposal of hazardous waste. I'm bringing this environmental issue up because they have an environmental policy in their company, and on their website they talk about their environmental resposibilities which is quite contradicting as shown in their actions, don't you think?

  • Apple Wireless Keyboard not connecting

I started up my iMac this morning to notice that the keyboard was not connected, meaning I could not enter my password. The moment I started typing a dialogue would pop up to pair a wireless keyboard. Near the bottom it said "attempting to connect to Apple Wireless Keyboar #1" but after a few seconds it just said "no devices found. It just repeats this process over and over. I've replaced the batteries and tried resetting the keyboard but neither solved the problem... Is there any way to force pair? I don't have access to another keyboard and need to use my computer. Please help!

Sadly, I think you're stuck without a USB KB at this point.

  • Wireless keyboard not connecting

My wireless keyboard has suddenly stopped working, I've changed the batteries and it continues to not be discoverable via bluetooth.  How do I reconnect it?

Open Bluetooth Setup Assistant and while that's searching for Devices turn the keyboard off and on (repeat) to re-pair it.

  • IPhone, PS3, and HP6180 will not connect with E3000

I have had my E3000 for about four months now, but here recently I've had a problem with my two iPhones (4 and 3G), PS3, and wireless printer connecting to the network.
My desktop, laptop, and WET610N wireless device for my Bluray will connect just fine.  But my iPhones state that they are "Unable to join the network "myname".  My PS3 fails the connection process, and I haven't even tried my wireless printer lately.
I'm getting extremely frustrated.  This has to be a router issue.  I've reset the router and have the most recent copy of the firmware installed.  I don't know what else to do.
    Help please.
    Thanks

your phone should be able to connect to WEP just as it can connect to a network with NO encryption. the apple sheep are humans and make mistakes.. perhaps they meant WPA is the stronger of WEP and they RECOMMEND it vs WEP.. im only asking you to try WEP just to confirm the phone can connect... you may also try no security encryption. you can unplug your ethernet cable to your modem if you are nervous about having your network open. your phone can still connect to a router even though it has no internet connection....
let me know if you need more help.

  • Officejet 6500 and wireless router not connecting

I just purchased an Officejet 6500 and trouble trying to connect it to my wireless router.  Each time I try to connect the printer by wireless it locks up.  The power button is not lit, but the screen is lit with no text.  At this stage I cannot shut it down or get it operating again.  I'm running Vista Business 64-bit and the router is a 2wire 1800HG through AT&T.  It runs fine with a usb connection.
    Thanks in advance.  John

I think you've just run into a known problem with some HP network printers with 2WIRE AT&T DSL routers.
We've identified the problem and will deploy an update sometime in the future.  Until then, the work around is to assign a static IP address to the printer. Here's one way to do this:
Unplug he telephone line from the 2WIRE router
Turn the power off on the 2WIRE router, wait 30 seconds, then turn the power back on.
Go through the normal process of connecting the printer to the 2WIRE device (Ethernet or Wi-Fi). The printer will not crash as long as the telephone line is disconnected from the 2WIRE device.
From the Officejet's front panel, access the "Advanced Setup" menu under "Network"
Select "IP Settings", acknowledge the warning and select "Manual IP Address"
Select "IP Address" and change the last IP address group (octet) to something higher or lower. Specifically for your 2WIRE router, select 192.168.0.60.
Press Ok and plug in the telephone line into the 2WIRE router.
Steps 4, 5 and 6 can be done from the printer's internal web page (under the Network tab) and it might be easier than the front panel on the 6500.  To get to the internal web page, you browse to the printer's IP address which you can find by printing the Network Configuration.

I updated an iPhone 4 on my computer with no problems. Now I put another iPhone 4 on the same computer and it wouldn't register with Windows or iTunes. Any tips on how to get my phone to sync?

If you were to plug the phone into a wall charger, would it recgonize the power source and charge?
Follow the steps in this article, http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1538, and see if that helps.
you may have to try a different usb cord or different usb port.

  • IPad and wireless keyboard do not pair any more

I always had (minor) problems, wehn vonnecting iPad and keyboard. But now iPad and wireless keyboard do not pair at all. Tried 15-20 times, fresh batteries, switched on an off, tried manually - nothing. I noticed that the green LED of the keyboard shines just for about 3 seconds when I switch on - but this has always been like that before. Latest OS of course. Who can help, please?
