IPhone 4g - No sound after system restore?

Hi, I've pretty much looked everywhere that i know for a solution to this problem. A few weeks ago, i dropped my phone and cracked the screen. When i had it repaired, everything on it worked fine. I was able to make calls, use gps, vibrations, ect. So, i thought if i did a restore, it would return all of my programs back to my phone (i was mistaken xD).
Anyways, after the restore, all of my audio completely stopped working. No sound from either speaker. If i tried running any programs like pandora or youtube, i get "this video cannot be played" or "Pandora has encountered a problem". I couldn't figure out what would cause that, so i pretty much freaked out and tried a bunch of things that didn't work. I know it's not stuck in headphone mode because it doesn't say headphones when i turn the volume up, and headphones dont even work. Eventually i clicked "Reset all settings" and it made the audio work again. However, the audio stopped working after about 4 hours. I tried it again, with no luck. I've tried restoring from a fresh install of itunes on a new user account, that didn't work either. I'm really stuck in a bind here, because i can't tell if this is a hardware issue or a software issue? The hardware seems to be working fine, because it's weird that both the top and bottom speakers wont work. When i make phone calls i dont even have the option for speakerphone mode.
I really don't know what to do from this point, my phone isn't under warrantee anymore. Any help would be much much appreciated.

Hi, im the user Ima_putake- this is my original account but i was locked out of it. The problem persists, and i still have not been able to find help. I brought the phone to a repair center and they were bafffled, offered me no help at all.
I'd like to add to my original post that not only do the speakers not work, but the flashlight doesnt either. The camera works when taking pictures, but freezes up if i switch to video. I can accept text messages and use my gps, and i can also accept calls but there is no audio or options. The phone also randomly reboots itself, in addition to occasional freezing. Any programs that run video will freeze up and crash when the video trys to play, including advertisments.
please help me or point me to somewhere that i can get help, i dont want to buy a new phone.

  • After system restore i reinstalled firefox, how to get back bookmarks etc with old firefox data?

After system restore the only thing i have is old firefox data on desktop if all bookmarks, passwords are recovered it will be great help.
    P.S
i reinstall firefox from drive other than c ,that was in downloaded form.
    Thanks

The "Old Firefox Data" folder on the desktop has been created as the consequence of resetting Firefox.
Doing a Session Restore may have reverted the profiles.ini file to a previous version that hasn't registered the new profile folder that a reset had created, so you may need to check for this.
    * C:\Documents and Settings\<user>\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\<profile>\
The "Application Data" folder in XP/Win2K and the "AppData" folder in Windows Vista and Windows 7 and later versions are hidden folders.
If you have a profile folder that is more recent than the "Old Firefox Data" on the desktop then you can use edit the profiles.ini file and change the path of the currently default profile to the name of the profile folder as you find in Document and Settings.
    *http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox
It is always best to be cautious with using System Restore as this can cause some file to be replaced with older copies, i.e. your Firefox installation and profile folder can get inconsistent and you may have to reinstall Firefox as well.

you may need to check the transfer structures,
right click infosource and 'change', click 'comm.structure'/expand,
click 'transfer', move the 0BASE_UOM from left to right side,
or if you wont use the comm structure anymore, you can right click infosource and 'delete comm structure'

Because GPS has nothing to do with WiFi, cellular signals, or data of any sort. GPS is implemented by signals sent by satellites that are received by GPS receivers. The receivers process the information from the GPS satellites and calculate your location. GPS never sends data anywhere; GPS functionality is receive only.
If you have WiFi or cellular data turned on this can improve the accuracy of GPS, because the GPS receiver can then use the known location of cell towers and WiFi networks to refine the GPS location. GPS by itself has an accuracy of 10 meters, or about 34 feet. Using the additional information from WiFi and cellular data this can be brought down to 3 meters (10 feet). This mode is called Augmented GPS, or A-GPS.

    Hi,
You can reinstall them from Recovery Manager by clicking on Start=> All Programs.
If you have performed a complete HP Recovery using F11 then all the software should be there. If you have performed a minimized recovery then you can install applications from recovery manager...If none of these works then you'll need USB recovery..
Here are the links that will guide you through the process:

    Note:
If you have HP Support Assistant installed on the computer(The Blue Question Mark) then open it ==> Complete all pending Updates & Tuneups==> Restart and Check. It may solve your problem

  • Sound problems after system restore

I just did a system restore to clean out my computer and bring it back to the original condition. Now, I can't get any sound from it. I have tried everything possible that I know. Time for a Geek!    All advise is welcome.  John

Sounds like you didn't also run the driver disk for your computer to get all of the hardware drivers back. You can go to the manufacturer of your computers website to re download drivers, or if you have a "drivers and applications" or something like that, disk, you can run that through to install them.

  • After system restore to back up have lost texts, photos and app data

Speakers not working on iphone all of a sudden and volume switches not working (just the volume comes up but no bars at the bottom).  So did system restore and more problems.
After I did this restore (to my backup done today) to my iphone 4s, I now have no text messages on my phone, no photos and no data on my nike running app (6months of records of runs).  Have searched through these forums and still stuck.
I think I'm going to have to take my iphone somewhere for the speaker issue, but have no idea where as optus sent it out to me directly via mai l(Adelaide, Australia).
In the meantime, I really want my texts, photos and app data back on my phone.
    any help HUGELY appreciated..

thanks for your reply.  I am trying the restore again now.
But no, I still have no sound, so it was all for naught.  Its fine if I have headphones in, and fine if its in a dock or connected to bluetooth, the phone also rings and I can hear people on the phone:  the only sound that doesnt work is music playing through the speaker, and video.  Also when I press the volume up and down buttons, nothing works.  I suspect there is something wrong with the docking connection as far as I can see from other peoples questions on here.
But the loss of texts and app data is just the icing on the cake

  • HP Pavillion: No Sound after System Recovery

Due to problems with Norton Security, I had to do a complete system restore to factory defaults.  I then removed Norton Security, Installed Trend Micro, and restored by backup making sure not to include any Norton folders/files.
While working on the computer, I noticed that the HP Advisor program would start and then I would get a message from Vista saying it was no longer working.   I checked on the internet and decided to remove the program.
Everything else seems to be working except the sound.  I know the speakers are getting power, I have checked the device and disabled and re-enabled it, checked the mute button, checked the volume in 3 places (software, keyboard, sound device) and still nothing.
I tried going to HP and downloading an updated driver - ha ha, My computer wouldn't boot and I had to back it off.
On the Control Panel -> Sound, I have two icons:
    1) Speaker, Realtek High Definition Audio, Working  (with a little green circle and checkmark)
    2) Realteck Digitial Output, Realtek High Definition Audio, Working  (no circle with arrow)
The speaker wire is "grey" which plugs into the "grey" "Side" connection on my computer.
I am assuming this means one of a few things:
    1) the current driver files are corrupted somehow
    2) the registry is hosed for the sound software  (are there any hooks in the registry for sound??)
    3) something did not get restored properly or was removed with the HP Advisor program
Can anyone shed some light on where I can get the original driver files to reinstall??
    Thanks.

WCM, normally when you have sound problems after a System Restore, it can be traced to settings in the Control Panel.  I would check all of them.  If that doesn't work, reinstall the sound device driver to see if that helps.  Also, check to see that your sound device is selected as the default.

  • Audit Issue in QA after system restore and client copy

    Hi Experts,
We have an audit issue and need your advise on that.
Our QA system was audited and auditors were looking for the approval tickets on which a user was created. I found that several users that were not created in QA and do not even exist in QA have their change logs in QA showing that user was created.
I researched it and found the steps that Basis and DBA's do when creating a new QA client.
    1. Basis export user master and authorizations using SAP_USER profile from the target QA environment.
    2. Then DBA's restore the QA Environment from the Production Backup.
    3. Basis import back the preserved User master and roles using SAP_USER profile.
But when reading about this profile, I came to understand that change documents ( USH* ) tables are not exported and imported back. So that is why we have change logs in our QA from Production system.
So my question is how to solve this issue, where Auditors look at the change documents in QA and ask for the documentation though in reality these change documents are coming from Production. Should we ask for DBA team to truncate USH tables or is there a client copy profile that saves the change logs that we can export and import back.

    Hi,
as you know the USH* tables belong to delivery class L. The tables in this class are never copied during client copy but you don't do client copy. Idea of deleting records from L tables after backup restore does not sound good because you will loose all data. As a workaround you could backup content of tables with delivery class L, export users SAP_USER, restore production backup, import users and import backup for tables with delivery class L. There is around 5000 L tables in ECC. Another approach could be to restore production on different box and do proper client copy to QA system.
    Cheers

  • Problems reinstalling after system restore.

Hey. I tried to address this with the Adobe helpdesk, but I couldn't get through the process. The system seems to be under the impression I don't own an adobe product.
Anyway, I've been having some problems recently with cs3. I bought it about one year ago, and after some initial snafus, it worked like a dream.
Recently, though, a virus got into my computer and I had to do a system restore. I set it up so that all of my programs and preferences would be left alone. After all of this was over, I tried to start cs3, and it wouldn't start. I just got the generic '(insert program name here) had encountered a problem and needs to close.'. I wasn't able to deactivate it as a result, and removed it from my computer. I put the disc back in, and it refused to install properly. The shared components were all that made it.
Is the problem that it wasn't deactivated? If so, how can I do that without the program itself?
    Help?

    >Sarah Modisette:Is the problem that it wasn't deactivated? If so, how can I do that without the program itself?
It doesn't sound like a decativation problem--more likely some module or the registry has been corrupted. Did you try the Photoshop CS3 clean script? You can get the script from Adobe. It can remove all traces of PS CS3 from your machine which should allow a re-install to complete successfully.
If you get it installed you may still need to go through Adobe Customer Support to get it activated. You are allowed two activated installations. If this is your only installation then the activation may proceed without problem. If it isn't the first then you will likely have to call ACS and let them know of the difficulties--Adobe Support is the only group that can help with activation issues.
    A valid serial number
should be all you need to get help with activation/installation issues from Adobe.

  • Missing Apps after System restore

Yesterday I did a System Restore on my iPhone 3Gs and now all of my Apps are missing. After this I tried to do a Restore from backup again but I still have the same problem.
I don't have Sync Apps ticked in iTunes as if I do it will sync all apps and there is a mix of iPad and iPhone apps there. For some Apps there are separate iPad and iPhone versions and I'm not sure if this will cause any problems.
Is there a way to have the apps restored to the same folders they were in before? I know I can sync selected apps from iTunes but I spent a lot of time organising all of my apps into folders and I'm hoping to avoid having to do that again. When I tick "Sync Apps" but before actually going ahead iTunes shows 10 screens of Apps and none are in folders as they were before.
I thought that doing a restore from a backup that I did just before the restore would have restored the phone exactly as I had it before.
Thanks for any advice you can offer.

No iTunes content including 3rd party apps are included with your iPhone's backup. If you don't have Sync Apps selected under the Apps tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes along with the apps selected below that you want available on your iPhone - which can be placed in folders with iTunes followed by a sync, iTunes does not know which apps you had installed on your iPhone. With Sync Apps selected along with the apps in your chosen folders, when restoring your iPhone with iTunes from your iPhone's backup, your iPhone will be restored in this regard. After restoring as a new iPhone or from the backup, this must be followed by a sync to re-transfer your selected iTunes content including 3rd party apps to your iPhone. What is selected under the Apps tab for your iPhone sync preferences will be pre-selected prior to the initial sync with iTunes after the restore, and the apps will be transferred back to the same folders as before. Your mistake in this process was not having Sync Apps selected under the Apps tab. With this selected, after downloading an app direct with your iPhone the app will be copied to your iTunes library automatically the first time you sync your iPhone with iTunes after doing so.
If there is an iPad only app that you select to be transferred to your iPhone, a warning message will be provided with the following sync indicating the app cannot be installed on your iPhone. You can create your app folders with iTunes followed by a sync.

  • Restore ichat history after system restore

Haven't found a usable solution to this problem yet, so help is greatly appreciated.
How do you restore all of your iMessage (iChat) conversations after retiring your Mac to an earlier point in time.  Specifically, I used Time Machine to return my iMac  to OS X 10.10.1.  Was at 10.10.3 (beta 2).  When I launch Messages, conversations are present as they were during the TM backup of 10.10.1.  So from this point I wish to return all the documents, photos, music, messages, etc. to the point prior to the system restore (10.10.3 b2).  Everything can be restored by use of TM for the folders, Documents, Movies, Music, Pictures.  But I can not get messages to restore.
Used various methods seen on various forums,  i.e. use TM and restore ~/Library/Messages; /com.apple.iChat,  but to no avail..  Tried various combinations of logging out/in of massages; iCloud, restarting the computer,  again with no avail.  I usually end up with all of the list of those that I sent a message to but no messages.
I believe there is some magical, specific order in which to do this successfully.  I haven't found it yet.
    HELP!
    & Thx

    Hi,
I have not delved deep enough to say which item actually holds the list of active Chats or Conversations in the side bar.
The chat.db item itself is the one that hold the "history" that shows up when your start a chat with someone you have chatted to before in iMessages.
You need to have Saved Chats  in the Archive folder for this to work with AIM, Jabber, Yahoo and Bonjour Buddies.
Apple's own documentation tends to refer to iMessages as Conversations and any other account as Chats.
The exception now being SMS/text which the app Links to iMessages.
If you just Restore the whole computer to the last day you ran OS X 10.10.1 then it should have all the Chats/Conversations you were having that day.
However changing them by effectively Importing the newer ones (those up to the last time you used OS X 10.10.3beta) will upset things.

  • Checking for updates after System Restore

After installing updates in September I had several problems, but system restore got things working again.  However, when I check for updates now the system appears to see the updates that were removed by system restore as if they are still installed or, as if they are available on the machine and therefore not needed.  I thought system update checked for updates based on current machine status.
Would system restore typically leave updates on the machine such that an update check may see them as not needed?
Is there a way to change settings or reset the update catalog to check for updates NOT currently installed?
