IPhone 4S Back Panel Loose (Need Advise)

Hello, everyone.
I would really appreciate if you will read whole message.
I’m Max. I live in Ukraine and as Apple doesn’t officially sell it’s phones here people frequently buy expansive imported iPhones (European, US or UK ones usually). And so I did. Obviously those are not covered by any of Apple’s policies or official warranty, if covered by anything at all. I mean here. So I ended up with new iPhone 4S from Italy with three (3) month of it-is-not-an-issue-pay-or-get-lost warranty.
Now, the problem is that phone’s back panel making sounds after a month of really intensive use (gaming, etc.): it clicks when pressed sometimes and it kinda knocks if tapped quite a bit. All the issues are within the area where battery resides. I don’t know what to think. It might be glue lost adhesive or something. I don’t want it to get worse.
At service point we tried tightening screws and resealing back, but accomplished nothing. Guy there told me that he can’t replace the panel because there are no visual defects or a single flaw he can consider as warranty case. Even part itself looked perfect to him. Of course device replacement simply isn’t an option too. I don’t feel like spending money myself either for now.
And what is interesting is that he shown me four or five iPhones (4s and 4Ss) currently in his service due to completely different reasons and all of them had gaps and loosen backs of different sorts, including really horrific ones. He said it’s quite a normal («normal» means most iPhones, in his opinion, have that flaw). I understand that all of them were used by different people under different circumstances.
So the question is how many iPhones (if any) experience such an issues? Maybe yours? How old phone was when it started? How many of your friends phones doing it? Please, do not answer if you’re not sure.
Note: it’s a real iPhone that I own, not a copy of any sort. Also, I’m acknowledged about camera lens rattling. It’s definitely not the case.

    unfortunately, if you get a replacement, they won't replace your zagg product as you will have to buy new ones. However, if you have installed the powersupport products, or any "static" type products, they can try and take those off from your original ones and move it to your replacements.
    It's possibie for the "static" type shields, as I have seen a genius remove the one from someone elses defects and put it on their new one. You can probably also ask. but for the zagg/bodyguardz/any "wet" applications you will have to order a new one.

    hey guys my iphone 4s's back panel is loose in top it moves side ways (left to right )  so any suggestions what can  be done

    i had taken it to them and they told me that the loose back panel prob was normal but still they said that they will check it and get back to us... On the Service report sheet he wrote that the back panel was loose and collected the phone frm me. Then Later in d evening ( the same day) they called me up n said that d prob was not a big issue to worry about and asked me to come n collect the phone. When i collected the phone the back panel was still the same. But later in the nite i noticed that the prob was increased( the movement of the loose panel increase than earlier) n soooo nw i dont kno wat to do!

  • So I backed up my iPhone on iTunes and I need to erase everything and restart my phone to factory defaults. If i erase everything then click restore will that work?

    Sorry for your loss but, If you didn't setup Find My iPhone BEFORE you lost your iDevice then there is no way to track it.
    Change all the passwords for the accounts you were accessing on it and report the loss to your local police.

    If you Google "iPhone 3gs parts" you will be able to find vendors that sell front and back panels.  So, I would say it is possible to replace the front and back panels.  I wouldn't recommend doing it yourself unless you are experienced in this type of work.

    Close your iTunes,
    Go to command Prompt -
    (Win 7/Vista) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES, right mouse click "Command Prompt", choose "Run as Administrator".
    (Win XP SP2 & above) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES/Command Prompt
    In the "Command Prompt" screen, type in
    netsh winsock reset
    Hit "ENTER" key
    Restart your computer.
    If you do get a prompt after restart windows to remap LSP, just click NO.
    Now launch your iTunes and see if it is working now.
    If you are still having these type of problems after trying the winsock reset, refer to this article to identify which software in your system is inserting LSP:

Serial number is recognized by apple systems though like App Store, Coverage Check etc. Should i be worried about the authenticity of this product? I got it at a Mall shop that sells apple products but I am not so comfortable about the difference of the icons at the back. I told them about my issue and they said if it were bootleg I wouldnt be able to register the product and the serial number which I was able to do. Help please.

    Oops sorry. My bad. I'm in the Philippines. I'm quite concerned because i know a lot of bootlegged stuff go around the market here. Yes, they told me it was unlocked and not tied up with a local network carrier so I can use any network sim card with it. The icons on the phone and all functions are available and working well like all iphone 4Ss that i have tried. Its just the icons printed at the back panel of the phone that are different, the ones that look like FC X C E etc printed at the back of a common iphone. Mine has an icon that looks like IC only.
