Iphone 4s Backup - Restore issue

Hi,
I am using iPhone 4s with iOS 6.1.3.
I took backup in in Aug'13 and yesterday.
Issue:
Yesterday I upgaded to iOS7 and it was successful.
But due to some usage issue I try to revertback but haflfway it faled due to storage issue in my pc (C drive was not having enough storage) and all the data gone from iPhone.
So I freeup space and try to continue the restoration and I couldn't restore the backup ( i tried both and not working). In the mean time I lost all my data including the contacts.
Since yesterday I am having the iOS7 with no previous data.
Please help me to guide me to restore the iOS 6.1.3 backup which I took earlier prior to the upgrade.
Thank you for all to help me to resolve  this issue.
Cheers
Senthilkumar

If you are trying to revert to iOS 6 from iOS 7, that is not possible.
If you are trying to restore your phone from a previous backup, and the data you are missing is not in that backup, then it can't be restored to your phone.
In any event your phone will be restored with iOS 7.

I was able to see it earlier. When the noticed the warning messgae to disable find my iphone while attempting a restore, i removed it from my account in web. Still i am not able to restore to a back up as iCloud is disabled. It is always popping up a message to accept iCloud terms and conditions. Upon clicking View Terms it opens the settings page.
I think it might be related to the ongoing issue

  • IPhone 4s backup restoring on iPad 2?

I have a iPhone 4s,  I just purchased an iPad 2. Can I restore my iPhone backup to my iPad so I can play my games without losing any progress and have the sync between both devices?

I successfully restored the iPhone backup to the iPad but I did have a number of issues. But I was able to solve them
    1.  The iOS on the iPhone was 5.1. The iPad was stil 5.01 so I had to upgrade that before I could do anything
    2.  The iPhone was 64gb iPad 16gb. So the first few times it didn't take but it did on the third try. After the program data was transferred over. I had 8gb of "other data" before I even had any apps, music, or video on the iPad.  I figured out what apps were the ones that had all of their data on the iPad already without the app. I installed those apps and deleted the "other" data. Which gave me the use of the rest of the memory.
    3.  The photo albums would not delete off of the iPad but after switching the photo directory to sync and then deleting them. Everything was fine.
    4.  I had to disassociate the iPad with my computer for the app Documents to go. The computer got confused because the iPhone and iPad were the same device and it wouldn't work.
A few bumps but all of my application data and game setting and progress is right.

  • IPhone 4s: Backup, Restore, and updating questions??

So, over the course of the last couple weeks, my iPhone 4s has been lagging, freezing and some apps are crashing. I'm assuming I should do a restore on the phone. I've never done one before, so I'm a little nervous about it. So I have some questions before I get started.
    1) If I restore my iPhone to factory settings and then restore my latest backup will the problems that I'm having still persist? I still have 6GB of empty space on my phone (I have the 32GB) so I don't think the lagging is caused by the phone being too full. I'm just wondering if I load from the backup will the issue that's causing the phone to lag/freeze/crash just be put back on the phone when I do the restore?
    2) I haven't yet updated to iOS 8 because a few people I know did it with their phones and it essentially rendered their phones unusable. I was wondering if I HAVE to update to the new iOS when I do a restore? I've heard mixed reviews on the performance of iOS 8 on the 4s, and I don't want to make any problems worse.
    3) If I do the reset to factory setting and then restore from my backup, will everything that's on my phone at the time of the backup be put right back on the phone? Will all of my photos, contacts, game data etc be transferred? Essentially, I just want to make sure that nothing at all is lost in the restore process.
Also, if anyone has any suggestions on how to make this as painless a process as possible I would appreciate any and all input.
    Thank you in advance!

What can happen after doing an update is something doesn't go quite right - the phone will work fine, but you'll notice odd stuff, like it being slower than usual, locking up, etc. A restore usually resolves that.
If the phone seems to lock up in general (ie: not just in a certain app), then doing a restore is worth doing. If a particular app tends to lock up, the issue is likely with that app.
Wiping the phone and restoring re-installs the iOS from scratch, which will get rid of any issues that may have during an update.
You do have to install iOS 8 at this point - Apple will, for a very short time, continue to sign older versions of iOS after a new one is released, but that usually only lasts a few days, if that.
From what I've read, the 4S runs iOS 8 just fine. Initially, you may notice it running more slowly, but you shouldn't notice that after using it for a while.
As for what gets transferred back - I know from an iTunes backup, you get everything - essentially a mirror image of what your phone looks like when you do the backup. Not sure if the same is true for an iCloud backup.
    Hope that helps

  • New Camera Roll backup/restore issue...

    Hello,
I have a massive problem and cannot find an answer to this anywhere....so, i'm hoping someone here can help. (I'm not great with computers!)
I upgraded from iphone4 to 4S in February. I set-up with icloud, but turned off both the Camera Roll and a secret folder app to save icloud memory as they were enormous. I have regularly synced my iphone with my computer (windows, not Mac). I assumed that this saved all photos into itunes and onto my computer.
Today i got a replacement handset due to a faulty one. I made sure to backup to icloud and sync my iphone before going to the Apple store. I restored the new one from icloud in the store and plugged the handset into my itunes when i got home to retrieve my photos... Then the problems began...
I have lost all photos from the camera roll and secret photo app. I am desperate to retrieve them. The only backup my computer shows in itunes is February, when I first recieved and registered the iphone 4s... The last one i did this morning is gone, as are all the others
Have I been wrong to assume that if the photos are not stored to icloud, they are stored automatically to itunes? Are the photos lost completely or are they hiding somewhere? Any help would be much appreciated!!
I really dont want to have lost them!
    Thank you

I went to iTunes, edit, preferences, device, and it showed my recent backups, and the back up i made is listed. Are you saying that even though this backup is on my computer, there is no way to access the picture files and transfer them to the phone?
    You can try it.
Hopefully it will work, but thisd is not how you should keep your pics.

  • Fusion drive and backup/restore issues

    Hi,
since I installed a fusion drive on my early 2008 iMac, consisting of an internal 256GB SSD and an (external FW800) 320GB hard disk, I occassionally run into trouble when system updates are pending. In the past, at worst the time machine backup couldn't be restored and I had to reformat and reinstall the system from scratch - which is not really comfortable!
Currently, running Mountain Lion, when I try to select the startup disk, it complains that Boot-Caches on the Boot-Helper-Partition cannot be created. Nevertheless the system starts fine (and runs fast ;-).
Before upgrading to Mavericks, I would like to know
         - if someone else ran into similar problems with fusion drives, when updating/upgrading system software.
         - Is it normal that a Time Machine backup cannot be (completely) restore a Fusion drive?
Yes, I know that having the harddisk part of a fusion drive externally is not recommended/supported by Apple - and my Mac is nearly 6 years old, but that would not explain why system updates/restores nearly always fail and sometimes the Time Machine backup drive has a broken file system (needed reformatting)! And I always checked the disks with Disk Utility prior to updating...
    Any comments are appreciated.

You can file feedback here. The more who file the more the faster the issues may be fixed.

  • IPod Touch ios 5.0.1 update music backup restore issue

i recently updated my ipod touch to ios 5.0.1 and after the update itunes restored my ipod and all of my apps but my music was not restored. I resynced to itunes and it says that all of my music is on my ipod but it isn't showing up. Thanks in advance

Me too. The OTA update was going along and then when I checked back later, I had the connect to iTunes screen. iTunes said I had to restore, (which took two attempts to finally work) and then had to sync back all my apps, etc. At least my last backup was only 2 weeks ago. Three words in IT, backup, backup, backup. Seems the phone is working ok now.
Hopefully, Apple can duplicate and address. It really makes updating a pain when it takes an hour or two just to update the iOS with a patch. The next time I'll probably wait for a more important update, make sure I have a current backup and plently of time to watch the grey bar march.
I have an iPhone 4. The update to 5 went smooth so I wonder if the OTA had anything to do with it.
My iPad 2 update to 5 and even 5.0.1 OTA went smooth, whew.

  • Backup/Restore Issues - Please Help

I decided to update my software last night and it bricked my iPhone. After several attempts I was finally able to get it back to the factory default installation.
Because of the multiple unsuccessful attempts, my restore list has been over-written by bad backups. Now I can't find a way to recover my good backup. The available restore list only shows backups from these bad backups and one from over a year ago. Did itunes delete all of my backups between now and then? Is it possible to recover them? I'm using a PC and I checked the backup folder in my profile. It is only showing 8 folders (there are also only 8 in the itunes restore list). Is there anything else I can do? What happened to all of my good backups?
    Please help. Thanks

Is there any activity which is physically opening this file or some process that is reading this file in edit mode?

  • HT201210 iPhone 4: Power & Restoration issue!

My iPhone 4 died, I placed it on charge, but it still didn't switch on or even charge past 3 bars, so I tried to restore & update the handset via itunes, it fails & gives me a notification that an error occurred *(11)/(21)...
What should I do now & what does that mean?

Ya ok so you have no software in you iPhone so up you have to restore but when restore it doesn't work right? I think either redownload the file or rather go to a apple store ask then ask the tech bench to restore it take it home and restore the backup. Are you sure it maybe not your internet connection? Either way you have to restore it

  • IPhone app backup/restore

I have 2 iTunes backups of my iPhone. Long story short, i want to copy the iphone application data (ie: Game profiles, save games, etc) from the old backup and add/merge the application data with my new backup. Then i want to restore my iPhone with new backup.
I have looked for 3rd party software and have not found anything that exports the iPhone app data that the app create on the phone. any recommendations will be most helpful. unless there is another way. Thanks

My situation is similar. I have an ip4. I also have an iphone 3G which I am now using as an ipod touch. I have different apps in each device. I am using my iphone 3G for non wireless function like documents, excel, databases, finances, etc. I do backup each device regularly. Since my iphone 3G is older and might die sooner, I am afraid that all my data will be lost.
Is there a way that I could merge the two backups together so if my 3G die, I could move all of the apps data from my iphone 3G to my ip4 without erasing all my ip4 data? Is there a program that will do this? I tried to google to find any solution but came up empty. Thanks.....

  • Major backup/restore issue: please help

A friend of mine is a couple of states away from home and her iPhone broke. The Apple Store is replacing it where she is, but of course her backup is here in this state. She will be on a trip for two weeks, and would really love her phone (which is also her iPod) to actually work.
I know she can log into iTunes, create her account and do a backup of the old phone, but if my memory is right, it will NOT backup her music, right? How then can she get the music to also backup so she can get the phone back to normal before continuing on her trip?
I'm sure someone has done this.

Maybe the backup file is corrupt. If so I don't think you will be able to restore it.
I think that Sprite backup can manage the SBF format, check with the developer of Sprite backup on Play Store before purchasing the application.

  • Pre-Mavericks to Post-Mavericks iPhoto backup Restoring Issues

A few months ago, I wiped my hard drive on my 2009 Macbook and installed Mavericks.  Now I cannot restore my iPhoto library from the pre-mavericks time machine backup.  Is there a workaround or have i just lost several years of photos?

Why can't you restore the old backup? (remember we only know what you tell us - we can not see you or your computer)
Basically you need to install iPhoto '11 version 9.5.x and restore the iPhoto library and then convert it to the new iPhoto format - if the old library is from iPhoto '08 (version 7.x.x) or earlier you must first download and run the iPhoto library upgraded and then launch iPhoto to finish the conversion - if the old library is from iPhoto '09 or '11 simply put it in the pictures folder an launch iphoto

  • Problem restoring Iphone 4 backup onto my new Iphone 5 with Itunes!

I just purchased a new Iphone 5, started it and in the configuration chose restore from itunes backup. The Iphone was connected to Itunes and the Iphone 4 backup restored onto my new phone, however only very few apps made it to the new Iphone 5! Any idea? Diskspace is the same on both phones and not full at all.

iTunes 10.7 and the iPhone 5 require Mac OS X 10.6.8 or newer. Mac OS X 10.6.8 requires an Intel Mac with at least 1GB of RAM; to get it, click here, buy and install the DVD, and run Software Update.

  • My work issued iphone won't restore the backup. New password twist!

My work issued iphone won't restore the backup. I get an error that my password is wrong. I tried variations of all recent passwords. Checked various threads and saw one that suggesting to use the "Change Password" feature under "Encrypt iPhone Backup" as a faster way to find your password. After a few wrong attempts I then successfully changed my backup password and wrote it down!!
Now when I tried to restore my backup with my shiny new password I get the same error that "iTunes could not restore the iPhone "my iphone" because the password was incorrect"  The "Encrypt iPhone backup" option is checked and grayed out. I assume the fact its grayed out means its a policy set by my company. I cannot uncheck the "Encrypt iPhone Backup" option. My company IT helpdesk can't help me as they say they don't set a password or force its encryption. The phone has Mobile Iron 5.7.4 app installed as a corporate requirement.
Any ideas? I am using iOS 6.1.3 and I will not update it to iOS 7 since I cannot restore my backup. Learned this the hard way when it wouldn't restore after the iOS 5 to iOS 6 update. I have an iPhone 4s.
    Thank you,

This is a problem.  We also set a policy which requires users create a backup password.  That way if they salvage their computer, someone that buys it at the Thrift store won't be able to access what might be company data.  The problem is that the password is only required one time, when the initial backup is made, and it might be a year or more before you need to use it to do a restore.  Here is an article which may help out...at least with some ideas on password ideas...http://support.apple.com/kb/TS5162
If you can't remember it, you can always transfer your content to your computer, music, apps, photo's etc, then setup the device as new and transfer the content back.  This won't allow you to get various settings, and points on games, etc, but at least you will have the really really important stuff.  If you are connected to an enterprise mail server, that will restore all of your mail, contacts and calendar.
