Iphone 4s battery problem with ios 8.1

I actualized my iphone 4s with ios 8.1 and the battery dures 8-10 hours, meanwhile with ios 8.0 dured more than a day with the same use. I turn on the phone at 8:00am with full battery and at 6:00pm the battery has less than %10 charge. Could ios 8.1.1 fix this problem?

Thanks for the help. I've tried to do what the instructions of the blog says, but I can't see the battery ussage and standby information. I don't know why, before the instalation of ios 8.1. I saw this information... What can I do to see it again?

  • Iphone 5 battery problem with iOS 7

I am experiencing horrible battery time since I upgraded to iOS 7. I feel like I'm down to almost 60% of battery power. Anyone else experiencing battery power issues with their iPhone 5 and the new iOS?

Strangely enough, the phone seem to have stabilized by itself, as if it had to learn my ways before getting back to normal. I did turn off some notifications, as well as some localizations, but that did not have any effect on my battery. After 2-3 recharges though it's now back to normal.
    @razmee209, Thanks for your help.

  • Iphone 4S battery drain with iOS 5.0.1

I am experiencing just about the same battery drain with the iOS update as I did before.
I was wondering how many of you had the battery drain problem, updates to iOS 5.0.1 and had that actually solve your battery problem.

I have IPhone 4 and I updated the IOS to version 5. After the update the battery lasts about a day. After the update to 5.0.1 the battery lasts a day and a half. It is an improvement, but not as I expected.
The next step is to disable configuration options like:
    - downgrade from 3G network to 2G
    - disable Data services
    - disable automatic clock
    - disable location services
    - use the phone only as a phone and nothing else.
I will come back to tell how much the battery lasts.
PS: the IPhone 4 is new so there is no problem with the battery itself.

  • Battery problem with ios 6.1.1

I updated my iphone 4s to 6.1.1. The battery life decreased and the phone heats up.
With ios 6.0, I could get ~7-8 hour usage time and ~24 hour standby time.
With 6.1.1, I can actually see battery going down ~3% every minute.
I can't use my phone. Tell me please what to do.

I just updated to 6.1.1 also. It fixed it for me personally. There is supposed to be a 6.1.2 released within a week. If it is urgent I would recommend taking your phone to the apple store. In the meanwhile I would advise turning it off and back on and taking all of the apps out from the multitasking bar.

  • Iphone 5 battery problems since ios 6.1 update

Hi, Just sent my iphone 5 back to apple after poor battery life since did ios 6.1 update, has anybody else had this problem?
Also Apple say they are sending me a replacement unit, is this new or refurb?
    Many thanks.

It will not matter, because it will be a perfect replacement iPhone 5. It will still have the remainder of your Warranty and if you purchased it, AppleCare coverage. If there are any problems they will be solved for you.

  • Iphone 3gs battery problems with os 4

I am facing unusual battery drain issues with iphone 3gs with os 4. The phone is getting off suddenly @ 30% battery power. Sometimes the battery drops from 100 to 85% suddenly etc. I read in some posts that even 5.01 is having the same issue with iphone 3gs. So I am afraid of upgrading to os5. Everything was fine at OS 4.2. Any suggestions ?

i'm sick of everyone popping into these threads and saying "check your settings, or disable push/wifi/other features".
These features all worked fine on 3.1.3 for me. I have restored my iphone 3GS as a new phone, reapplied my settings manually (not from a backup) and I still get this issue.
30 mins ago I put my phone in my pocket with 50% battery. Pulled it out just now, its toasty warm, and has 19% (wait no just dropped to 18% as I unlocked it) battery left.
Obviously, something is going wrong in the software, and is using cpu resources constantly, draining the battery life. CPU usage explains the phone being exceptionally warm. Having push enabled on an exchange email account (Google Hosted Apps here) shouldn't tax the cpu like that.
I'm taking mine into an apple store tomorrow and asking for a replacement. My warranty runs out on the 19th July, and i'm not going to wait around for a possible 'fix' and then be told "sorry its not under warranty anymore".

  • Reception / Battery problems with iPhone 3GS after upgrading to iOS 4.2.1

There are major reception and battery problems with iPhone 3GS after upgrading to iOS 4.2.1.
I can not believe that Apple did not test this for major bugs like this one is.
I am a business user and can not effort to have bad reception. Apple wants to gain in the business clients... I never had this with my former BlackBerrys!
I need a reliable phone not a play thing like this is right now, it just needs it to work propely. And if a major bug like this comes along, fix it immediately. After the iPhone4 story, now this...incredible! Going back to my reliable BlackBerry! It just ain't reliable and takes forever to fix a problem.

I have the same issue after iOS 4.2.1 update. I am using iPhone 3GS officially unlocked by Apple. I tried using different SIM cards and both carriers show same problem when using phone in 3G mode. Phone falls back to EDGE mode showing 'E' from '3G' at start. I have reset the phone and rebooted several times and moved to different cell areas in the city just to verify the problem.
I had no such issues earlier. I also have Nokia E71 which shows full signal and has no such issues.
I have posted the bug on apple iphone feedback page. I hope they Apple will fix the problem and test the release properly on all models before releasing to public.

  • How do I fix the compatibility issue between my iPhone 4S with iOS 7 and my Pioneer car stereo? There was no problem with iOS 6, but now I get a message saying "this device is not compatible" and so I can't use Netflix for example. How do I fix it?

This is a typical response from the manufacturer. Did you try the fix that Lawrence mentioned. When Apple or any other phone manufacturer update phone software, they have the latest Bluetooth installed. It is usually the problem with the radio manufacturer that they devices are using the older Bluetooth protocols. You can try this support document http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3581 and see if anything there helps, but generally it requires the radio manufacturer to update their firmware.

Actually, battery size has a definite impact on battery life, and larger batteries tend to weigh more.
I had made the point that the Handset size (not the "battery size") does not affect battery life.
Furthermore, I wen't on to explain that the batteries are comparable in size regardless.
On this point Sholton, if you want a physically larger battery (which yes, I agree, naturally will yield better battery life) then perhaps the Samsung Galaxy SIII or Galaxy Note would be a better solution for you.
But then, because of a poorly optimised operating system on those systems, your battery will be working inefficiently anyway.

can't replace the battery once that limit has been reached -  at that point you either buy a new phone and discard the "old" (not very green of you...), or ship the old one off to the factory for an expensive replacement, and no phone for the duration of the shipping and replacement).
Apple offers a battery replacement program where they will either replace a consumed battery or replace the handset if need be for a reasonable price of around $89.
The aforementioned service can be carried out at your nearest Apple Retail Store or Apple Authorised Service Provider in a matter of 10 minutes - rendering your point about being without a phone moot.
Once again, I appreciate your frustration, but perhaps the iPhone just isnt for you.

  • IPod touch Battery Problems Since iOS 7 was installed last year.

Hello, I've had recurring battery problems with my iPod touch since the iOS 7 update was installed, and I find myself having to charge my iPod touch (5th Generation) a lot more frequently since I installed this update.
On iOS 6, I had never experienced any problems with the iPod touch's battery, as I was able to let the battery drain down completely, and let it charge for 4 hours (recommended). After the iPod touch was fully charged for 4 whole hours, I was able to unplug the lightning cable, and the iPod touch on its own would last a few days to at least a week or two weeks.
On iOS 7, since it saw its general release on the 18th September last year, I have found that the iPod's battery has drained so bad, that it dies too quickly, and when I put the iPod touch on charge, in almost an hour, the iPod touch tells me that it is 100% charged. However, when I take the iPod touch off its charge after it fully charges for that hour, it quickly drains down again.
I have gone through the standard procedure of restoring my iPod touch to its factory settings, and I have seen absolutely no improvement on the battery life whatsoever. I mainly back up whatever is on my iPod touch (I back up pictures, videos and also transfer updates that I have installed for certain apps onto iTunes), though I have seen how some people have backed up the data on their iPod's or iPhones, only they find their iDevice draining so quickly.
Even turning off certain features in the Settings app to improve the battery life doesn't help, as there is almost no difference that solves the problems I'm currently having with the iPod touch's battery.
I recently heard about the free iPhone battery replacement program which is now available, so I'm starting to worry whether I have to pay for a new replacement battery for my iPod touch.
Your help in this matter would be gratefully appreciated.
    Many kind regards,
    Alex Smithson

I mainly charge the iPod touch itself for four hours and it still doesn't make a difference. I've had my iPod touch for almost 2 years and since I installed iOS 7, it still doesn't make a difference.
I was wondering, if the article you have provided doesn't sort the problems with the battery out, is there another alternative??
Your help and advice is most appreciated.
    Many kind regards,

  • IPhone 4 stop working with ios 6.1

iPhone 4 stopped working with ios 6.1, visited apple first time, restored phone and worked, less than 24 hours later stopped working again, back to the store, I told iPhone is out of warranty and they'll replace for $150. iPhone worked fine with previous version, no problem at all. Asked to restore to the previous software version, told can't be done. Why should I pay for a damage caused by a software update. Tec claims that ios 6.1 will not work with my phone because it discovered some hardware malfunction, possible the home button. They can't repair. suggested to go to a third party. I'm a satisfied Apple product user for many years. What happened? Any welp out there?

Hey.. I have had this issue since yesterday afternoon.. Some people are saying to keep restoring again and again until it finally goes through.. I have done so like 10 times on my MAC and then I used my husband's PC and tried it 4 times.. No success.. I called apple support, but no help came from there at the end, and the only thing they were able to suggest to me is to sell me a new phone just like mine for a discounted price.. **** NO
Anyways after about 18h of search and stress I came across this link:
    http://techglobex.blogspot.com/2012/06/downgrade-from-ios-6-beta-firmware-to.htm l
That will only make it possibe to go backward.. You will end up back with the IOS 5, but at least you will have a working phone and it will bring back all your contacts and everything else that you ever had backed up on icloud and on your computer. There might be descripencies with the Applications but again this is an issue easily solved, you can always download them back.
Two more things: One, you do not have to download the old version of the itunes, the newest version worked for me without any issues
When choosing to download the older IOS 5.1.1, you will need to figure out whether your carrier is GSM or CDMA but you can easily google this info online..
Well hope that will work for you like it did for me
