Why will my iPhone 4s not auto-connect to Bluetooth device? Must manually select connect each time. My iPhone 3GS work fine...

Update...After reviewing several other posts, I deleted all recognized devices in my phone and in my car. I then re-paired and everything now works.

I have the MB Multi Handset Interface with the latest Bluetooth "puck". Pairs fine, voice quality decent.
One nice bonus is how fast the contact directory loads now. With a V600 directly in the cradle(no BT) it could take up to five minutes to load about 30 contacts. With the iPhone usings BT it loads four times as many contacts in just seconds.
As far as reconnecting when getting back in the car, mine always reconnects and at least loads the recents, but not always the directory, unless the iPhone is fully on.
Has anyone found a good way to check voicemail within this setup? I haven't fugured out how to connect to vmail via the MB controls. Or, if I connect using the iPhone directly, I cannot get the audio to play through the MB.
Also, have you noticed what happens when you try the old speed dial function through the MB keypad?

I think the easiest way to do this is to have the EyeTV app running in one user account and sent via HDMI to the TV, and use a separate user account for Screen Sharing. Both logins can be active at the same time and with Lion you can connect via screen sharing to which ever login you need.
With regards to the Mac video resolution changing, when it is not the current input on your AV receiver. This is 'normal', if the Mac sees no signal it drops down the a lower level. What you need is to buy a HDMI Detective Plus which tricks the Mac in to always seeing a signal and hence it will not drop down the resolution. See http://www.gefen.com/kvm/dproduct.jsp?prod_id=8005
The Mac mini does have an IR receiver. This can be used with the EyeTV app, iTunes, and similar. Yes I believe EyeTV would run for prolonged periods quite happily, it is has been around for a long time and had most of the rough edges polished off. However one issue you will have to deal with is that it does not automatically update its program guide data. For this you might have to write or modify an AppleScript. Elgato support or their user forums will be a lot of help.
You can set EyeTV to convert recordings to an iTunes (Apple TV) compatible format and then delete them from EyeTV.
The HDMI Detective should solve your handshaking problems.

Strange that your dealer could not help.
When my car was in for its 6 month service in July/August I mentioned this problem to the dealer service dept (Northway Honda, Bundoora, Vic)
The person booking the car in told me an update to the software was needed and that they would do the update.
I don't know if it was free as there was no specific listing of a software update on the invoice - just a lot of item numbers.

Hands-free Issue

On my old BB Bold, when i wanted to make a call via my hands-free device in my car, and the person i was calling had multiple phone numbers, the device would ask if i wanted "mobile 1" or "work" for instance; on my new BB Classic, the device recites all the locations and phone numbers in that person's contact, and then asks me to repeat the number I want, including the area code. This is clumsy, and difficult to do while driving. Any suggestions beyond only keeping one phone number per contact, which defeats the purpose of a contact list?

Car audio not connecting via Bluetooth therefore Hands free does not work

How long before Apple fixes something they broke by new OS.
Here in the UK it is illegal to use a phone whilst driving unless your using a Hands Free device. My Panasonic 4600 worked perfectly until OS 8 upgrade and now voice command is broken. I have read many other blogs etc with different car and radio owners have the same problem. So Apple, how long before you make us legal users again?

Apple aren't going to budge, are they? You'd be more likely finding an OS update for your car! Take it into your dealer; if it's a widespread issue, they'll probably have/be working on a patch

Does my iPhone 4 work with Hands Free Profile (HFP)?

My new car is supposed to send/receive text messages via the new fandangled stereo/navigation unit. The manual says the phone must be compatible with "Hands Free Profile (HFP)" or Message Access Profile (HFP)". Does the iPhone4 use/have this? New car is a 2012 Subaru Impreza with the Nav system.

Volvo s80 2008 model works with iPhone 5 only on hands free mode. Should it not also play my music through Bluetooth connection. Even my 4 year old Tom Tom does that.

How do I get iPhone 5 to stream music by Bluetooth to my volvo s80. My built in volvo Bluetooth seems only to pair for calls and address book only but I can't get it to stream the music. Surly this should be possible my 4 year old Tom Tom even does that.

IPhone 6 bluetooth audio stutter/dropout issue

I have a 64GB iPhone 6 (Verizon) and am having an issue where when I stream music/audio through my 2013 Toyota Sequoia's audio system via Bluetooth, the music will have a stutter/dropout of about a 1-2 seconds every 20-40 seconds while the audio continues to play. If I connect the phone directly through the USB port, the audio is fine and there is no stutter/dropout. There are no pairing issues - it pairs to the Toyota Sequoia's Bluetooth system just fine.
I'm a bit suspicious that this may be something to do with the Bluetooth on my iPhone 6 as I also use the Bluetooth function frequently for phone calls and those on the other line have noted that I temporarily cut out from time to time.
Could this be a bad Bluetooth hardware issue with my iPhone 6? I tried Resetting Network Settings and still have the same issue.
I'm thinking of taking my iPhone to an Apple Genius for help but thought I'd check here first. Any thoughts or insight would be greatly appreciated.

Bluetooth car hands free problem

Can pair with both cars (Prius and Lexus), but no audio during phonecalls. Playback media through Bluetooth is no problem. Any solution?

Found a fix.
Switch off "Sync Contacts" in the car's Bluetooth profile on the iPhone. Try to make a call. If it works, switch back on "Sync Contacts" and everything should work fine now.

In -Car hands free issue

Hi everyone. Maybe i am posting this in thr wrong place, not too sure.
I have a Nokia 6300 that doesn't seem to work when i plug it into the cradle in my car. My previous boss had the same phone and it worked fine. What am i doing wrong ?

Yesterday morning the built-in bluetooth on my car was working fine, then at lunch when I tried to use it it was impossible to hear the call. I checked the phone and the volume is turned up all the way, and the bluetooth HFL is working fine with my husband's phone, so the issue has to be with my Palm Pixi. I can hear the HFL commands and prompts without issue at a normal volume level (8-10) but to hear even a whisper of a conversation or even a ringtone I have to turn the volume up to about 40.
I've tried to search on my Pixi to see if there are any settings I can adjust or update, but haven't been able to find anything.
Anyone have suggestions about how to correct/address this issue?

You have to go through the entire pairing process or can you just turn off Bluetooth and then turn it back on again, or go into the phone and select the car and they connect? If you are having to go through the pairing process again, it could be a problem with the vehicle. The iPhone uses the latest Bluetooth stack and it may be a problem with pairing with the vehicle system. Try contacting Honda/Acura and see if there are any firmware updates for the systems in the vehicle.

Bluetooth hands free

I inadvertently deleted my iPhone from my Prius hands free system. My phone will now not reconnect when I try to register it. it continues to read "not connected" with "now discoverable" beneath. This is not an issue with my hands free system as I have successfully connected another mobile phone

That entirely depends on if the manufacturer of said device has put that particular bluetooth service on the device. You know what I mean? Example: Browsing is a service, file transfer is a service. Not all bluetooth devices have ALL services. I found that out the hard way when I purchased a dell axim x51v a while back, it didn't have all the services that I wanted.
