IPhone 4S broken black glass replacement Singapore

I have a cracked back glass of my iPhone 4S, which i purchased in April this year. I went to service Center in Singapore for replacement and I was informed that back glass can not be repaired instead they were offering to replace the iPhone with a new one for S$350. I have read in the forums that it can be replaced in many countries for a lot less than I was asked. What should I do? Even somebody suggested that buying the back glass and replacing yourself. Is it possible to buy an original one and if yes then from where? I will truly appreciate any suggestions for this.

Take it to an Apple genius bar and see what they want to do...normally damage such as that is not covered under the warranty unless it broke on its own due to defect.
Take it in and see.

Checked out user guide, forums, specifications, parts info pages but drawn a blank throughout. If i could just get hold of the glass i could either have a pro repair it for me or have a go myself but without that part info i can't get anywhere.....

I cannot make any guantees, however, I have seen printers with broken scanner glass replaced before through HP directly while they were under warranty. You will need your product and serial number when you call, but they should be able to provided you with excelellent service.

Apple are unable to replace the front screen on iPhone 4 and i'd imagine it'd be the same with the iPhone 4S, this is because it causes internal damage to the hardware inside the iPhone. When i had my iPhone replaced, it cost me £139, for a brand new (iPhone 4, 32GB, Black) but be aware the prices may change.

Very likely yes.
Apple will exchange your iPod for a refurbished one for $199 if a 64 GB 4G, $99 for the other 4G iPods and $149 for a 5G. They do not fix yours.

This is what I did..
O. First went to the AT&T store. They made me wait 20 minutes.. It was busy to be fair, and then one of heir experts told me that nothing can be done. That it may work for 4 months or so even if I replace the glass.. The replacement would cost. She said I may want to go the Apple store and. They may give on for about $250..
O I called my sister and she said her 4 had the same problem and they fixed it for $100
O I went to the Apple store. I was told that it is going to be around $250 for a replacement. But, he gave some tips.mhe said
1. Wait for a few months because there are no fixers for the iPhone 5 who can do it for any lesser than about $200..maybe there will be soon.
2. put something like the Zagg shield. The top part of the phone - about an inch ha the maximim damage.. So it's not too bad.. But a few cracks may appear..
3. The barrier to the electronics has been compromised because the glass is broken. It is suspectible to damage by static. So, put some electric tape where you can buy a case which covers the top part.
So, that what I did.. It's usable now. I think it was really good advise... Hope it lasts for a few months at least.. It's such a beautiful, fast phone.. Well..
As a side note, i was really impressed by the Zagg shield.. It's not like the regular plastic stuff. He puts a thin film os some kind bakes it or maybe use some kind of jet stream usung a machine. The display is good as the original.. I would highly recommend it. There are 4 kinds -$20 and $30

I think I had it on the iCloud, I just changed computers and had part of my old computer backed up, where are the default iTunes info saved like the pictures and I know my contacts were backed up cuz I kept getting updated stuff that I wasn't sure about, but it was contacts where some belonged to my wife's contacts....but anyway, if the cloud backed up contacts, it should have grabbed pictures too? Like I asked before, if they were backed up to the computer, is there a default iTunes folder they are saved to? I had a crap load of pictures on there that I usually could really access if I was connected to wi-fi. I turned off my data stuff as I only have 4GB and between me and my 2 kids, we seemed to use up a lot of it. My son would play music from Pandora during work, and use up all our data til I limited him to only 3GB, my daughter and I barely used 1GB. Anyway, thanks to everybody that is answering. I thought I might have done good finding the dang sim card, but pointless I guess.

Sorry guys, I don't know a **** of a lot about cell phones, but I do know about memory cards, but not sim cards that act like memory cards or look like them anyway. What is the purpose of a sim card if I may ask a stupid question since they don't hold any data from my phone stuff. Our business buys them back from non-official iPhone repair centers but it seems Apple stores don't have the authority (for good cause) to sell to a company like ours. Regardless, I was wondering what Apple might do with them as I'm sure it's tens of thousands a week if they added up from all of their locations in just the US alone.

You don't in the condition it's in. You will either have to get the phone replaced by Apple or pay a 3rd party to repair it.

There is no glass replacement in india .

I bought my iPhone 6 one month ago , and it fall from about 1 feet height and the glass is broken , apple says that it will cost around 108$ to fix iPhone 6 glass , but in India when i contact the customer care they say that there is no glass replacement , the whole unit will be replaced and it will cost around Rs. 23500 (375$ Approx ) please help why there is no glass replacement in India . i want my iPhone 6 glass fixed and it is still in 11 months warranty .

If it is just the back glass panel that is broken they are very easily replaced at home and a lot cheaper too. The two screws at the bottom of the phone either side of the dock connector need unscrewing and then the back sliding up a little and popping off, then put a new one on and slid it back down and put the screws back in and hey presto!
Technically speaking this will void your warranty and probably not supposed to mention it on here but a replacement is at least $149 (depending on which model you have) whereas the new back on eBay is $10.45 for the iPhone 4 replacement back and screwdrivers or $11.53 for the 4S replacement with screwdrivers
