Iphone 4s camera color lacking red

has anybody noticed that the iphone4S camera relatively lacks red hue when compared to iphone4?
In my cases, I was shooting some red cars under sun light, the cars looked more like orange in the photos as well when shown on larger screen of iMac or TV. I've tried a few different iphone4S'es and results were the same.
I understand that the automatic white balance is much improved and color looked much proper in low light condition, but that shouldn't make red into orange. The same goes to red in general, and very pronounced when looking at bricked roofs, where they appeared brown-orange ish.
Am I on the only seeing this effect? I searched and am not seeing any reference to the matter...

Well about the camera i'm not so worried cause i have never droped my iphone I take care of it with my life so i don't think the camera should be failing i am more worried about the music haha...
I don't know what sync is... i have been always so confused about sync about iCloud and that stuff. I'm only did it cause we were in Aruba and he needed to tell to contact his family to tell them about the iPhone he got stolen.. but then i prefered to don't do anything.. so i logged out.

  • IPhone 4 Camera Excessive Color Fringe / Distortion

    Hello everybody,
the following is a topic that I move with me since quite some time, but maybe someone can help solving it.
My iPhone (4) camera has extreme color fringing problems. As you can see in the following pictures, it occurs mainly on gradients.
I don't expect that camera type to have a similar behaviour as good DSLRs, but is this here normal?
The following image was taken in normal daylight.
How can I remove it? My software is always on the newest level, and the lens itself hasn't any scratches etc.
Is this a case for Apple tech support?
    Best regards,
    S.

You can't attach photos here, only link to them elsewhere.
Regarding the camera, I have to ask because others have made the mistake...have you removed the protective film from the back of the phone yet?
With the white hazy shots, it's extremely important to make sure the lens is grease free so wipe it with a soft cloth and try again. You'll be surprised how much difference it can make.
Especially important when a light source such as the Sun or a window is just out of shot (flare)
As far as the yellowing goes, all digital cameras (even several thousand pound DSLRs have trouble using auto white balance in tungsten lighting. I bought an app called "Almost DSLR and it clearly shows the WB being adjusted right down, to a point where it can't be adjusted any more. At this point the photo appears yellow (too high a colour temperature)
With a bit of luck it will be fixed in a firmware update, but in daylight and halogen etc, the colours SHOULD be excellent, along with sharpness and contrast.
Like I say, give it a little clean and try again.

  • Colors fading on iPhone 5 camera after 2 yrs

I've had my iPhone 5 for two years. The camera worked fine until a few weeks ago. Now greens are coming out gray. I haven't seen this problem reported anywhere, but is it possible the camera sensors are failing? I take a lot of landscape and garden photos, so losing green is a big problem for me. Has anyone else seen this? Can it be fixed?

    Hello Leslie Turek,
The troubleshooting detailed below can help resolve image quality issues with your iPhone's camera.
Camera isn't functioning or has undesired image quality
If the screen shows a closed lens or black image, force quit the Camera app.
If you do not see the Camera app on the Home screen, try searching for it in Spotlight. If the camera does not show up in the search, check to make sure that Restrictions are not turned on by tappingSettings > General > Restrictions.
Ensure the camera lens is clean and free from any obstructions. Use a microfiber polishing cloth to clean the lens.
Cases can interfere with the camera and the flash. Try gently cleaning the lens with a clean dry cloth or removing the case if you see image or color-quality issues with photos.
Try turning iPhone off and then back on.
Tap to focus the camera on the subject. The image may pulse or briefly go in and out of focus as it adjusts.
Try to remain steady while focusing:
Still images: Remain steady while taking the picture. If you move too far in any direction, the camera automatically refocuses to the center.
Note: If you take a picture with iPhone turned sideways, it is automatically saved in landscape orientation.
Video: Adjust focus before you begin recording. You can also tap to readjust focus while recording. Exiting the Camera application while recording will stop recording and will save the video to the Camera Roll.
Note: Video-recording features are not available on original iPhone or iPhone 3G.
If your iPhone has a front and rear camera, try switching between them to verify if the issue persists on both.
My issue is still not resolved. What do I do next?

  • I have restored my iphone but camera shutter still will not open/work, i have restored my iphone but camera shutter still will not open/work

I have restored my iphone but camera shutter still will not open/work

Try closing the Camera app completely and see if then works when you re-open it : from the home screen (i.e. not with Camera 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Camera app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
If that doesn't work then you could try a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the equivalent of a reboot.

  • Iphone V1 taking picture in red

The camera of my iphone is taking pictures in red/purple.
Even before shooting picture just when I run the camera the camera is showing everything as if a there's an effect over it (same thing for token picture.)
all other applications are working vey well.
My Iphone is V1(US), upgraded to firmware 2.0 recently.
Does any one knows how to resolve this?

I don't know that there are any good solutions but this has been asked before. You can do a forum search and see if you find anything helpful. Here is one thread on the matter:

Also, the newest software is 2.0.2. It may be a good idea to update.

  • Camera calibration tab and camera color space

Hi, I need a confirmation about the hue and saturation sliders on the camera calibration tab. They are there for fine tuning the camera color space primaries in a DNG profile? Thanks a lot.

    Hello, here I'm again.
I'm probably in the wrong forum, because I can't tell you anything about the DNG secrets
    (though I have the specs).
About your second question (more an issue for a color science forum), I've found something:
Estimation of the primaries for a digital camera:
    Please refer to these docs:

    http://docs-hoffmann.de/leastsqu16112006.pdf
    Given is an equation
    (*) X = C R
    We have two applications:
    (1)  Original question
    X = Matrix  X1 X2 ... Xm
                    Y1 Y2 ... Ym
                     Z1 Z2 ... Zm
m=41 values in each row for CIE CMFs (color matching functions) 380nm...780nm
    R = Matrix  R1 R2 ... Rm
                     G1 G2 ... Gm
                     B1 B2 ... Bm
41 values in each row for the sensor sensitivities for red, green and blue CCD array elements
Matrix C is found by solving equation (*), using the pseudoinverse.
Matrix C contains the XYZ-coordinates of the primaries red, green, blue as columns 1, 2 and 3.
    (2) About the mathematics
    X = Matrix  X1 X2  ...  Xm
                     Y1 Y2 ... Ym
                     Z1 Z2 ... Zm
m=24 values for the GretagMacbeth ColorChecker
    R = Matrix  R1 R2 ... Rm
                      G1 G2 ... Gm
                      B1 B2 ... Bm
24 values in each row for the RGB results als delivered by the camera, for instance in sRGB.
Matrix C contains the XYZ-coordinates of the effective primaries(including sRGB)  red, green, blue as columns.
    (2) explains the principle of the pseudoinverse for overdetermined systems of linear equations.
    (1) explains the application for the identification of camera primaries for given sensor sensitivities.
Unfortunately, the whole concept will fail, if the camera sensor sensitivities (CMFs) are not
linear combinations of the CIE CMFs x-bar, y-bar, z-bar. In this case, a camera does not have
primaries, but the computational result can be used as an approximation.
CMF = color matching function (CIE)
I regret –it cannot be explained 'for the layman'.

  • IPhone 5 camera issue.... NEED HELP please

I just got this iPhone 5 camera issue. I was taking pictures (around 20 pictures), suddenly the camera only focused downward (to the ground). Even I raised the iphone higher and focused to the head of person that stood in front of me, but the camera still took the pictures of that person's hip and legs. Every pictures that I took were focusing downward.
I tried it today the second time. After I continously took 40 pictures, this problem started again.
Should I get a replacement? IS it a ios6 or phone problem?
Actually, after I restarted the phone, this problem was gone. But I just want to make sure that this problem will not come again after 1year warrantee.

when your r on your camera app, press and hold the sleep/wake button and after 4 secs you'll see the red slide of power off option. without sliding that, just press and hold the home button until the camera app quits. This will reset the app.
If this doesnt work, go to your comp and delete the softwareupdate.ipsw file from itunes media folder (if you've previoulsy updated or restored) and do a restore. this will download a new update file from apple server that will be error free.

  • Iphone 3g camera sutter stucks

iphone 3g camera sutter stucks. i have tried reset all setting, open camera for 1 hrs, hard slide option but nothing worked. may someone get me out of this problem?

    Hi,
If you have a protective case or film on the iPhone, try testing without it.
Also try restarting the iPhone by holding the Sleep/Wake button until the red slider appears> then slide to turn off> and turn the iPhone back on by pressing the Sleep/Wake again, as described on page 34 of the iPhone User Guide.
    http://manuals.info.apple.com/en/iPhoneUserGuide.pdf
You can also try restoring the iPhone, to rule out issues with the software on the iPhone. This article: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1414 will walk you through restoring the iPhone.
If the issue persists after removing the case and restarting or restoring, the iPhone may need hardware repair. Make a reservation to have a Genius take a look at it or call AppleCare.

  • IPhone 4 Camera Issues

My iPhone 4 camera has a weird color all of a sudden. I've had my iPhone 4 for a little over 1 year and haven't had a problem like this before. When I flip the camera around (so that the camera is facing me) it works fine! But when I flip it back around the colors change and it's very distorted.
Does anyone know how to fix this? I've tried turning my iPhone off, waiting awhile, then turning it back on. I've also tried syncing it with my computer and making sure that everything was updated and backed up. I've even deleted some photo apps (such as PhotoWizard and SnapChat) to see if there were too many apps overloading my camera, but nothing has worked so far. I'm considering just restoring my iPhone, but I want to use that as a last resort.

I had this happen when using a certain iPhone case. The color of the case was reflecting off the lens. Try using your phone without a case and see if it still does it. :-)

  • My iphone 4s camera go off every time it try to take a picture

My iPhone 4S camera goes off every time I try to take a picture.

    Hi, Abdel_mounia
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
Here are some steps I would recommend going through to troubleshoot this issue.  If the issue still persists, see the last section labeled issue not resolved in the article below.
