Iphone 4s can't connect wifi after iOS 7.1.1

From this morning my phone could not connect wifi anymore. tired to rest the network setting also helpless. during open the wifi setting, it seem lack from software. Sometime not respond. After update ios 7.1.1 there are many issue, like hang, slow, need to reset many time to get phone work. anyone has idea how to solve the problem?

Settings, general , reset, reset network settings. If still an issue, then restore your phone from your backup in itunes., Last would be to get a newer iphone, good excuse to have to get a new one.

It sounds like your phone touchscreen is not consistently working for you after updating to iOS 8. I can see how that would be pretty frustrating. It sounds to me like this could be a software issue or an issue with the screen itself. I would start with the troubleshooting in the following article to help troubleshoot the screen itself:
iPhone, iPad, iPod touch: Troubleshooting touchscreen response
Restart your device
Hold the On/Off button until "slide to power off" appears. Slide to power off your device. When it is off, press the On/Off button to turn it back on.
If you can't restart your device, reset it by pressing and holding the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for a least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
Clean the screen with a soft, slightly damp, lint-free cloth.
Avoid using the device while wearing gloves, with wet hands, or immediately after applying hand lotion.
If you have a protective case, or if you are using a plastic sheet or film on the display, try removing them and testing the device without it.
If that does not resolve the issue, I would next quit all the running apps on the device:
iOS: Force an app to close
Double-click the Home button.
Swipe left or right until you have located the app you wish to close.
Swipe the app up to close it.
When you have done that restart the device and test the issue again:
iOS: Turning off and on (restarting) and resetting

I can't connect wifi after updating Windows.

I installed Windows Embedded 8.1 Industry Pro. And I have 49 important updates. But after updating, I can't connect my wifi. Then I restore system, I can connect again. I have did this some times
Before, I had installed Windows 8.1 Pro, it was the same problem.
Please tell me solution. My laptop is Acer Aspire m3 481 which is installed Qualcomm Atheros AR5BWB222 wireless driver

Download the latest drivers for the Wireless network card that are applicable to Windows 8.1.
You can check with Acer on this.

I have iPhone 4s running 6.1.2 Everything worked great before the lovely update. My wifi did the same thing that everyone else's seems to be doing. It would not recognize my home router.
Evidently, in the update, Apple changed how the "Ask to Join Networks" button operates. Previously, I didn't have to have the button toggled to on, my phone would just automatically lock onto my router. I have fought and fought with this update. I have done several "network settings resets". I have even restored my phone twice. I have tried every crackpot, and not so crackpot, suggestion on these forums and NOTHING has worked. I could go to settings and connect to the router each time I used the phone, but it would only stay connected for a few minutes.
Today, I toggled the "Ask to Join Networks" button to "on", then opened Safari. My phone then asked if I wanted to join the network, I responded with "join". My phone has been on wifi all day! I left home and came back several hours later, and FINALLY... my phone locks on automatically.
Go to settings>, Wi-Fi>, toggle "Ask to Join Networks" button to "on". Then click on your router/network in the list.
I realize that everyone's problems are not the exact problems I had, but maybe this will help some of you having problems.

Can't connect wifi after change channel and mode in router

I have a problem with wifi connection. I've been using arch linux for awhile now and my wireless connection is worked well until I setting my router via browser. I change my router channel from 6 to 1 and wireless mode to 802.11n. Usually in windows it will disconnected for awhile then it will connected again, but with arch linux its just disconnected and can't connect anymore. My AP's name before is "olympian hermes", but now it change to "olympian+hermes". in my router setting the name doesn't change (still: olympian hermes).
I've using windows to test if there is problem with my router but it's worked fine in windows. After that i'm using my android phone to make a wifi, but it still didn't work with another network.
I hope someone could help me, thanks in advance.

I went to the Apple Store today and explained what is wrong with my phone, they didn't even bother checking it, they said I need a replacement for £150, as it's in Apple T&C's that they are not liable if a phone breaks because of an update. My phone was working perfectly fine before I updated with iOS 7.0.4, how can Apple now not take the responsibilty of fixing their mistakes. When will we receive a fix, I have tried every suggestion possible and still no wifi!! HELP..

I bought a "very good" used unlocked 4s on eBay back on Oct 2 ... it arrived with iOS 8 installed ... AT&T folks told me not to load that SW when I went in to move my SIM from an Android phone to the iPhone ... when the saw it was already loaded they were amazed that it would even start up ... but it seemed fine until I got home and tried to set-up my WiFi ... all kinds of problems ... which led to upgrade to 8.01 and then to 8.02 ... all the while hoping to see some fixes ... but things went from not so good to terribly bad ... Bluetooth was off .. and the option to start it was greyed out ( but the little rotating gear continues to run constantly - can't stop that ) ... similarly the WiFi option was off and and was likewise greyed out and inaccessible ... then messaging was no longer accessible ... and to top it all off the phone now discharges in 2-3 hours ... even when powered off ... kind of scary ... but on Mon the 20th I was able to download iOS 8.1 to my Windows XP iTunes (took almost 6 GB to do that - downloads a huge file and then has to extract it, before installing it -- and instead of getting rid of the mess it makes, it puts the no longer needed files in the recycle bin taking up more space -- took me 6 hours to get thru all of that .... and all for naught ... still nothing works ... tried resetting networking ... resetting everything ... useless ... even drove 10 miles to a Starbucks to get a different WiFi ... but nothing works.

You should try these steps:

You need to go through the steps of configuring your Mac to share its internet connection with other devices again.
1. In Sys Prefs/Sharing highlight Internet Sharing (do not check the box)
2. Share your connection from: Ethernet (from the dropdown menu)
3. To computers using: AirPort (check the little box)
4. Press the button AirPort Options...
5. Name your Network
6. Use Automatic or select the channel
7. Select the level of encryption.
a. For a non-Apple device you must use only a 5 alphanumeric character, 40-bit WEP password
b. Or a 13 alphanumeric character 128-bit WEP password
8. Press OK
9. Check the box for Internet Sharing
10. Answer any dialog boxes that pop up

iphone 4s keeps dropping wifi after ios 6.1.1 update.....tried hard reset,reset networks,restored to new....... nothing is working....... apples update screwed up my phone and there support people told me no warranty nothing they can do.... just told how much it would cost..... really disappointed.

Same problem here with iPhone 4S IOS 6.1.1, the wifi drops and I have to retype the password...

That's odd. I assume this is the 5 GHz band, right?
Have you tried changing the router to do auto 20/40?
Have you tried deleting and reconnecting to the wifi network?

Obviously the password to write error-free. I can not figure out what depends on this factor, however, another iphone connects fine. Help me please.

I have a similar,but slightly different problem. My iphone 4 recgonizes my home wifi and shows it under Settings, but will not access it, no signal shown, just 3G. It will access other wifi signals. My wife's iphone works fine, as does an ipad and macbook. This is new for my iphone, about 2-3 days.
