Iphone 4s Charger fell into water

Hello all. As the tittle says, i had an iphone 4s charget next to my aquarium. Suddenly from a bad move, charger landed into the aquarium and pulled it out after 2 or 3 secs intantly. I left it 2 days to dry w/o use and decided to risk it by plug my iphone for charge. Seems to charge without problems. What you suggest me? Buy a new one, or stay with the old one that seems to work?

I would stick with it
maybe put it in a bowl of rice on the radiator or a heated flood to make sure it dry all the way out
not too many sensitive components in the charger maybe some of the capacitators can get water damage and maybe the transformer can rust
but even then it would not be likely to damage the phone

Certainly. But you have to pay. It's called an "out of warranty replacement".

  • How to I fix a phone that fell into water?

My phone fell into water is there any hope of saving it?? Suggestions are also welcome.

You can try placing the phone in a ziplock bag filled with rice for two to three days. The rice absorbs the water. But if the water has damaged the iPhone then Make an appointment at an Apple Store to have your device examined by a technician. Or contact Apple Support.

  • No wifi on Iphone 3GS after falling into water.

It fell into water but everything else is working. It is a 3gs. is there a specific way to turn wifi on. I tried to reset network settings but it hasnt helped.

Is Wi-Fi turned on in Settings > Wi-Fi?
If it is greyed out... there is realistically nothing that can be done as you have a hardware failure.  This can happen when dropping electronic devices into liquid.  It's not "fine".

  • IPod screen is static after it fell into water

all of my problems started after the ipod touch fell in the water. First it would let me connect to any wifi at all but i got it fixed. now the screen is all gray (turns blue after a while). the ipod works only the screen doesnt. i can unlock the ipod and play music and games(suks with out visuals), but cant see where the **** i am! plz help!

I guess the first thing you should do if your ipod fell into water is shutting it off. Otherwise water and electricity can damage the electric parts even more. So in your case it could have been a slow process with the result of a damaged screen.
If the drying does not work anymore, you'll have to get it serviced, see the pricing here: Apple - Support - iPod - Service FAQ

  • Nokia 5130 fell into water

    Heya...
My phone fell into a pool of water and stopped woring for sometime. I blow dried it n left it for a few days. It started working n continued to do so for a few days.. All of a sudden it switched off. When i removed the battery and tried to turn it on again it reaches the Date and time settings screen and becomes non responsive!!! What do i do?!?!?

Not a lot I'm afraid. Any phone with water damage is usually on borrowed time as the insides of the phone slowly corrode. Even if you somehow get it going again, it will probably just be a matter of time before something else goes again.

  • Iphone fell into water, what should I do?

after a few minutes it says - no connection-

Water damage... Dum Dum Dummmmm!  Hate to say it but since it was on when it went in and out of the water you're phone is probably fried or will be.  Not much you can do.  Once it dries completely you can try and sync it with a computer and backup your data to iTunes, but no promise this will work.
If you have AppleCare+ and you're in the US you can buy a replacement for $49.  If not then you can purchase an out of warranty replacement iPhone 5 from Apple for $229.  A lot of money but its a lot better than paying $799 for a new iPhone 5.
You might want to check with your carrier to see if you have insurance on your phone.

  • Charger fell into glass of water what should i do now it wont work :(

    Please Suggest

Seriously that is sound advice. You could save yourself a few dollars by taking it apart and drying it out but really cannot recommend that - throw it in the bin and buy yourself a new one. Its not worth risking it.

  • My Ipod touch recently fell into water, but once dried, it worked with seemingly little to no problems. Today, after working for at least an hour, the screen froze and is now not working, but the sounds are still functioning.

I accidentally dropped my Ipod into the lake, at the beach yesterday, but i caught it early and it wasn't too soaked... i wiped it off for the most part, and most of the buttons and the screen worked fine! i was shocked, and there were a few glitches with the camera and the slide button on the lock screen, but otherwise it was greatly intact! so i gave it a rest, put it in my purse, and picked it up fifteen minutes later, and it was working 100% normally again! when i got home a few hours later, i put it in rice for a few hours, taking it out every once and a while to check my notifications... it still seemed to be working perfectly, so i just set it down out of the rice, assuming the moisture was gone. this morning, again, everything was working normally, no glitches, UNTIL, i opened my instagram app, and the screen froze, and it seemed like it had two separate screens, and i held the Sleep button down until the screen went black... then i tried turning it back on, etc. and it still didn't work, and so i plugged it into the computer, holding down the sleep and home buttons, and itunes identified it as in recovery mode, and started updating. i tried again to press the sleep and home butttons, maybe pressing only the home button, because I heard the Siri noise, as well as the charging sound, but the screen was still black.... i checked my iTunes, and lo and behold, it had identified my iPod, and synced it to the computer, as if it were normally functioning. However, the screen is still not working, and Siri is not working either. The sounds may be the only thing that's functioning. Should i send it in?

If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

  • My iphone recently got dropped into water what do i have to do to get a new phone?

I was running out to my car after work today, when my iPhone fell out of my pocket and landed in a puddle. I need to know what I have to do to get a new phone. I looked up my serial number to see if I am still under warranty, and i bought the Protection Plan through apple which changed my one year warranty to a two year warranty instead. Being that I am still under warranty, will iPhone replace my phone? I was under the impression that no matter what happened to my phone, if I purchased the AppleCare Protection Plan, that Apple would take care of me. Anyone have any ideas? My phone is working fine other than the sound. When I make a phone call I can't hear anything through the ear speaker. If I turn the speaker phone on, I can hear it but it's not very loud. Or when I go to play songs, they won't play. The volume button has completely disappeared. Someone please help? I can't afford to buy a new one, and would really appreciated it if someone had an awesome clue as to what they are doing. Thank you in advance!!
    Ana

Water damage voids your warranty and AppleCare Protection Plan.  You can bring your phone into Apple for an out of warranty exchange for $149.00.

  • Iphone 5 phone fell in water.. camera will it work again?

My iphone took a tumble in to some water this morning. got it imedieately out and put it in a bag of rice. I am heading out of town today. so I was like crap!... so far its working just fine, but there is a little bit of mosture in the camera lense. Does this dry out if I leave the phone in rice for a while?
    thanks in advance

I dropped my Iphone 5 in water and the camera and home button stopped working shortly after.  After a month or so, the camera actually started working again and still works to this day.  The home button never came back so I just use the virtual home button now.

Unfortunately, it sounds like your phone has sustained some water damage. your only option is to send it to you nearest Nokia Care Centre. It looks like you will probably get charged for the repair as water damage is not covered by warranty.
But before you send it in for repairs you could try drying it out for a couple of days to see if it dries out.
I once had a phone which fell into water. I left it to dry for a week before I tried turning it on and it worked perfectly fine and is still working today. Only tell tale sign of the dunking is a water mark on the inside of the display.

my iPhone 5 fell into the water and a writing like that appeared with the apple sign. (when its turning on) but it is now a gray screen and it is not working, nor can i connect it to my laptop.

You're seriously trying to use an electronic device that's been in contact with water????
You do know that since th beginning of time water and electricity don't mix, right?
Start being smart and top trying to use it NOW, and put it in a bag of rice for a week.
