IPhone 4S completely dead - will not reboot with holding down sleep
We were using the phone, left it for a while, when I went to use it again it was completely dead. I then could not start it, charge it or reboot it using the sleep & home buttons.
Umm, thanks. I am on holiday at the moment. Do you think there is any chance of saving it?

My 4s is locked on the icloud back up screen and will not reset by holding down power button.
My 4s is locked on the iCloud back up screen. It will not reset by holding down the power button. Please help!
Restart iPhone: Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the home button together until the apple logo appears (ignore the ON/OFF slider) then let both buttons go and wait for phone to restart (no data will be lost).

Enter the correct passcode and the device will unlock every single time.
If the passcode has been forgotten, restore the device via iTunes on the computer. -
How do I reset my iPad when it will not respond to holding down the on/off button
How do I reset my iPad when it does not respond to holding down on the on/off button. It went to the Apple icon and is frozen there.
Hello charlenefromnew sharon,
Thanks for the question. After reviewing your post, it sounds like the iOS device is not responding. I would recommend that you read this article, it may be able to help you isolate or resolve the issue.

Hi I have taken my daughters iphone and wiped it and resetted it but it will now not let me activate it via itunes and will not even go onto the home screen of the phone so i can go to settings etc and i do not know what to do to enable the phone to be activated
"We're Sorry, Activation Server Temporarily Unavailable, contact Customer Care?"
99.9% of the time, the cause of this issue is the fact the phone was jailbroken/hacked to unlock it for use on networks other than the network the phone was originally locked to. Apple maintains a database of officially unlocked iPhones, and when Apple's servers detect phones such as yours, activation stops & you get the message you got.
So, you need to get a sim card from the carrier the phone was originally locked to, or get it officially unlocked, if you want to activate it. Because it appears that it was not officially unlocked. -
What do you fix your iphone 4S when it will not sync with itunes?
i have had my iphone 4S for 1 year and recently i have had problems syncing it with my itunes when i plug it in it will come up with iTunes cannot read the contents of the iPhone. Go to the Summary tab in iPhone preferences and click Restore to restore this iPhone to factory settings. and i dont want to restore it because i havent backup. it is on a mac and it also wont connect to wifi.
Once the Device is asking to be Restored with iTunes... it is too late to save anything...
To minimise loss... Connect to iTunes on the computer you Usually Sync with and Restore from the most recent Backup...

If necessary Place the Device into Recovery mode...

my I phone 5 went completely dead after receiving an incoming call that went to voicemail and alerted, i cannot power back up, what can I do?
Try a reset. Hold the sleep/wake and home buttons together until you see the Apple logo and then release. If you are sure the battery still had a charge, this should work. If you think the battery was low, then plug it in and let it charge for at least 20 minutes and then try the reset.

My CD will not eject, tried holding down the trackpad and restarting still won't eject.
My cd will not eject. I tried restarting my Mac while holding down the trackpad, still it will not eject. I hear it try to open but nothing happens.
If you have a Retina model then you don't have a built in Superdrive, it would be external. As far as I know the holding down of the trackpad to Force Eject a CD/DVD disc from the drive only works on models that have built in CD/DVD drives. So you'll need to take ther drive apart to get the disc out.
More than likely your external Superdrive has failed in some way, like the moter that is used to take in and eject the disc has failed.
In the future buy a new DVD drive that is a tray load design. Any brand will work with your Mac. It does not have to have the Apple name on it to work properly on any Mac computer. -

If I add an event on the calendar on my mac - it does go to my iphone. If I change an event that HAD synced previously (not sure when this problem started, but i had never had a problem syncing before) that change goes thru. But I have several events on my iphone that just won't transfer to the Mac
My Iphone 4 crashed yesterday after a restart and upload of OS 5.0, it will only partially sync. It's not transferring any of my music or ringtones. They still appear when I click open the sync screens on ITunes, but I don't seem to have an Ipod function and only one of my personalized ringtones transfers on the actual phone.

IPhone, PS3, and HP6180 will not connect with E3000
I have had my E3000 for about four months now, but here recently I've had a problem with my two iPhones (4 and 3G), PS3, and wireless printer connecting to the network.
My desktop, laptop, and WET610N wireless device for my Bluray will connect just fine. But my iPhones state that they are "Unable to join the network "myname". My PS3 fails the connection process, and I haven't even tried my wireless printer lately.
I'm getting extremely frustrated. This has to be a router issue. I've reset the router and have the most recent copy of the firmware installed. I don't know what else to do.
Help please.
Thanksyour phone should be able to connect to WEP just as it can connect to a network with NO encryption. the apple sheep are humans and make mistakes.. perhaps they meant WPA is the stronger of WEP and they RECOMMEND it vs WEP.. im only asking you to try WEP just to confirm the phone can connect... you may also try no security encryption. you can unplug your ethernet cable to your modem if you are nervous about having your network open. your phone can still connect to a router even though it has no internet connection....
let me know if you need more help. -

My iPhone 4s touch screen will not work with an active SIM card in it.
A few months ago my touch screen stopped working suddenly on my iPhone 4s. After I removed my active SIM card from the 4s, the touch screen started working again. As soon as I put my SIM card in again, it stopped working. I finally broke down and took it into a store where they replaced the screen. It started working again for about 5 days. Then this morning it just quit working again. I have restarted it and reset it. All of the software was up to date when it stopped working, so I haven't done anything with that. Could someone please help me with this? It's getting a little frustrating.
Hi ironmaiden316,
If the touch screen on your iPhone isn't responding, you may find the troubleshooting steps outlined in the following article helpful:

Power mac g5 will not reboot with Startup discs. Has had hard drives replaced with PC ones
I have an old G5 power mac tower. The hard dives were removed and replaced with PCs ones before I was given it. I do not know if they were formatted. I have the original boot up disc and I want to start again with this tower. The tower turns on but does not recognise the keyboard (which I know works) so I am unable to boot from the CD to have a fresh tower.
Any ideasIf the drive(s) is bad, it can prevent boot.
Try removing the drives and then try and boot to the install disc (hold C).
Of course, install isn't possible without a hard drive, but this is a test.

Can I optimize the iTunes library on my external drive?
I have my iTunes library on my external drive, which by the way, is very full (only 40 of the 500 gb free). It takes ages for ITunes to start up, and I believe it's because of the very full harddrive. Is this really the case, though? And is there a w
