Iphone 4s couldn't find carrier 3G; restore failed. Help??
I only received the iPhone 4S a week ago. Yesterday, it stopped being able to find service and the ever so intelligent AT&T Support guy suggested I backup and restore my phone because no one else was experiencing this problem. Enter my problem:
I backed it up -- no problem.
I've tried to restore it multiple times and it fails in the middle which means my phone is stuck in recovery mode. Error codes are 1 and -1. The Apple Support guy said that they both mean that I need to disable my firewall. Sure, on my PC, yeah. But, I just bought a MacBook and the firewall isn't on and I'm getting the same errors.
It's frustrating because I literally have no means of communication outside of work.

It is a very widespread function in web browsers, and it is very ''very'' helpful in many situations, including remembering the location of pages you want to see later, providing easy access to pages you use frequently and other stuff too.
If you want to know about session restore, there's an helpful support article [http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Session+Restore here] which I believe also has information on version 3.0. However, I do urge you, once again, to update, because older versions (including 3.0) are no longer maintained and have known security vulnerabilities. Besides, you will not loose any functionality at all (unless you are using add-ons that are no longer usable by newer versions, in which case you need to contact the add-ons' authors for support and ask them to update their software), it's free, and very easy to do.

My Iphone 5 is frozen with a screen message restore failed ...I can't even turn it off ?
A reset may help. Tap and hold the Home button and the On/Off buttons for approximately 10-15 seconds, until the Apple logo reappears. When the logo appears, release both buttons.
No content is affected by this procedure. -

Try cleaning out your headphone jack with compressed air and/or a tissue/cotton swab.
Try plugging your headphones in/out about 20 times. -
Failed to Update iPhone 4 to 4.2.1 - Subsequent Restore Fails with Error 10
Wanted to update an unbreaked iPhone 4 with the formerly current software version on a MacBook Pro with MacOS 10.6.5 and iTunes 10.1 (54) to iOS 4.2.1.
The first Software Update failed as well as multiple tries to restore the iPhone with error 10. Last lines in the iPhoneUpdater.log are always the same:

What I did so far:
- Repaired access rights multiple times
- Rebooted the Mac multiple times
- Tried another user on the Mac
- Deleted the "iPhone3,14.2.1_8C148Restore.ipsw" and downloaded it again.
What else can I do in order to get the device working? Or shall I better go and take it to a Apple Service Partner?

ccll1FIRST disable your antivirus and firewall, that's a common cause of error 13. This is from Apple's troubleshooting tip:
Error 13 and 14: These errors are typically resolved by performing one of more of the steps listed below:

FaceTime is not available on devices sold in Dubai, their country doesn't allow it. Even though you may now be in a different country you won't be able to install it, including via iOS updates - it's blocked by the serial number.
To sync photos, connect and select your phone on the left-hand sidebar of your computer's iTunes (if the sidebar isn't showing then control-S should get it to show), and on the right-hand side there should be a series of tabs, one of which should be Photos - if you select that tab you can then select which photo folders to sync to the phone. There is a bit more info on this page. You will need to sync all the photos that you want on the phone together in one go as only the most recent photo sync remains on the iPad - synced photos can't be deleted directly on the phone, instead they are deleted by not including them in the next photo sync. -

I did a restore on my iphone 4 earlier. This is the first time I have ever done a restore-I have only had this phone for about 2 weeks. However, I was having battery problems so I chose to restore.
It went through the entire process and even came up the "activating, this may take some time" or whatever screen. It said that it had synced and it was okay to disconnect. Now, however, I have no service at all, it says that the network is unavailable, and it keeps popping up and saying that it is not activated and if it continues to call some 1800 number. It is connected to my wifi, however.
Do I have to call the *228 number or something, like I did when I first got it? Or what? I'm really confused and frustrated...I just want my phone to work.

That "00000000" number thing could be the issue, I have never activated my iPhone over iTunes (mine was preactivated when I got it), but it sounds to me that when/if iTunes goes to "activate" the phone, iTunes could be telling your iPhone that 00000000 is your actual phone number, so the iPhone self activates it thinking that is your actual number, so when that number doesn't match up with any number on Verizon's servers, it fails activation (while many may say that iTunes "activates" the phone, I am pretty sure that iTunes just forwards that information to the iPhone and automatically does the "*228" activation on it's own based on the information entered into iTunes)
I would say yes, go ahead and try *228 opt 1 and see if that works, or see if you can change the number to your real number in iTunes -
