Iphone 4S country lock

I've got a Iphone 4S. Well, I bought it in Hungary.
The thing I'm curious about is that is all Iphone 4S produced and installed as a unlocked?
I mean I go to Korea for a holiday and I would like to know it's possible to insert korean sim card
and use my iphone in Korea.
Is there anyone who can give a clear answer to me??

  • Dear sir.   I am using my iPhone 5 in UAE now . I want to use my iPhone 5 in my country Bangladesh during December 2013 . Please be inform that it is possible to use ? Any country lock have in iPhone 5 ? If any country lock available how can I use ?

Please give me advice , if I want to use my iPhone 5 in different countries any country lock available or not

Talked to Vodafone. They said that if my phone is indeed unlocked that theoretically I should be able to stop into one of their stores and pick up a prepaid (PAYGO) sim and it will work. The only problem is, they don't have any prepaid sims yet. Hopefully they will when I arrive there in 2 weeks. I may pick up a nano sim cutter just in case they don't.

Only the carrier your phone was locked to in France can authorize the official unlocking of your phone. So contact them as to cost/procedure.

  • How can i unlock(country lock) iphone?

i used to belong in United States and also used iphone4 at at&t. i did not know the country lock before i flighted to foreign country. One of my friend asked me about the country lock i had to have country unlock if i using this iphone from U.S to other country. So my question is how to do country unlock ?

You can't. Only the carrier it's locked to can authorize unlocking it. AT&T will NOT do so under any circumstances.
Sell it and buy one you can use.

There is no country lock, only carrier lock. However, repair service is only available in the country of purchase (except for the EU, which counts as a "country" for warranty purposes).

  • Is iphone 4 locked by country lock? (I mean full paid iphone 4)

I want to buy full paid iphone 4 from the apple store directly without any agreement or contract.
What I want to know is that whether it is locked by country lock or not.
Because I will go back to my country soon and I want to use it in my country. (south korea)

Apple online store will only send you a factory unlocked phone if you live in a country in which phones can be sold unlocked.  If not, you cannot get one through the Apple online store
If you are physically in a country that sells factory unlocked phones, then you can buy one there.  In the US, you cannot purchase a factory unlocked phone through any carrier, nor can one be ordered online.

  • Regarding the carrier/country lock for iPhone 6

Hello, I'm planning to purchase iPhone 6 with two year contract.
The situation is that I'm currently outside U.S..
I'm willing to keep the Verizon account active for next two years (paying the voices and data every months), but I wish I can use the new iPhone 6 device in the country outside U.S by popping in non-Verizon network's SIM card.
The question is is the two-year contract iPhone 6 country or carrier unlocked?
Should I have to activate it on Verizon's network in the first place?
Does activation on Verizon's network imply that I'm permanently locked into Verizon's network?
Is it possible to activate the device on Verizon's network and then unlock the phone right after?
Would it be best to not to activate the device on Verizon, but just mail it here (outside U.S.) and activate the phone with the local network here?
    I'm really confused...
Can somebody give me a good advice?

The Verizon iPhone 5, 5S, 5C, 6, and 6 Plus are all completely unlocked and ready for travel. No unlocking is needed. They will work with Tmobile, AT&T SIMS domestically and International SIMS. No call to Verizon is needed. It does not matter if you put the Verizon SIM in first, so no problem activating on Verizon and then putting in the international SIM.

  • After 04 months of purchase of iphone 5 the lock button is too hard. At times its not working at all. The phone has been purchased in USA now I'm not getting service in India. After all whats the point in spending so much amount without any service.

The warranty says that Apple may restrict service of an iPhone to the country of sale, and any reliable salesperson will tell you that if you tell them that you plan to use the iPhone in another country. Such service restrictions are common with cellphones and are by no means limited to Apple's phones.
Sorry, but if your iPhone requires service, you will need to send it to someone you know in the US who can get it serviced and then send it back to you.
    Regards.

Try a different sim than the one that is in it. If you get service, it is unlocked.
Where - in what country from what seller - did you get this iPhone?
Why do you not trust what the seller told you about the locked/unlocked status?

Sorry - mistyped the URL. It is of course http://appleid.apple.com . They will want your name and your current email address. You must know what your email address is. In any case you are signed in here with an Apple ID - is that the same one? You would have to know the ID and password to post here.

  • My factory unlocked Iphone 4 got locked after 4.3.2 update, How do I unlock it?

"factory unlocked Iphone 4 got locked after 4.3.2 update, How do I unlock it?"
Do I have to use the apple's fast lane to resolve the issue or is it something that can be resolved quickly using the ITunes or combination of power and home key please advice...

From where did you purchase the iPhone? Are you certain it really was factory unlocked? I can't say that an iOS update couldn't inadvertently lock an iPhone, but more commonly it would happen with a jailbroken iPhone. If by "from Irvine" you mean Irvine, California, then you don't have a factory-unlocked iPhone unless you purchased it from another country, as there are no unlocked iPhones sold through any authorized reseller in the US.
    Regards.

  • How do I unlock country lock?

I just moved to South Korea and I have an iPhone 4S. My contract with Verizon has expired and I believe cancelled. Am I able to use my iphone? How do I unlock the country lock on the phone?
    Thanks!

The sim card slot/GSM portion of your phone should not be locked.  From iPhone 4s upwards on the Verizon phone, the gsm portion of the phone should be unlocked out of the box so you should be able to use your phone with a local South Korean gsm carrier, just not cdma any longer.
If it is not, then you'll need to contact Verizon directly to get them to unlock it.
