Iphone 4s deleted all my contacts after connecting to wifi.

I was playing a game on my iphone 4s and I decided to connect my phone to our wifi like I always do to save data. However, this time, it deleted all my contacts. I would really appreciate help with this problem. My phone has not been backed up yet, it is only a few weeks old. Is there any way to retrieve them?

Are you syncing contacts over the air with an Apple iCloud account or with another email account that supports the same?

In preferences turn on iTunes sharing in iTunes preferences and keep iTunes turned on in both accounts. Or better yet put the iTunes library on the main HD rather than in an account and set the location of the library to that location in iTunes preferences.

Deleting an email account on iPhone without deleting all the contacts?

I currently have an email on my phone that is no longer a functioning email that I have access to. I have a problem..... ALL my contacts are synced to the email..... If I delete the email all of my contacts delete. I have tried multiple programs to move them but none of them work. Also they will not backup to iCloud I have tried multiple times.... Help!

The phone has the latest version of ios7. Unfortunately tge mail accounts which are from the carriers have no delet button in the settings.

Restore from itunes backup and turn on airplane mode before they gone. Turn off contacts under settings - icloud.
turn off airplane mode. Delete icloud account. Sign back in and merge contacts.

On the way to work this morning my iPhone just deleted all my contacts.

I can't just back it up because it's an old phone im using until i can afford to get my iphone4 fixed as the thing just stopped working one day aswell and wanted restoring which would be great had it been backed up in 6 months, which it had not...This was due to my main computer being in storage from a house move.
Quite fed up of 'just restore it' they shouldnt really just fail sporadically and frequently in the first place...

All contacts on your iPhone should be available in an address book app on your computer - an address book app that is supported for syncing contacts with your iPhone. Not a good idea to depend on an iPhone or any cell phone alone for your contscts, which can be lost or stolen or have a software problem with all contacts randomly being deleted. First I've heard of this.

I just figured out how to restore contacts from icloud....
Try this if you already have the contacts tab turned on in iclouds on ur phone settings:
Go to icloud.com - contacts
bottom left hand corner is the gear icon which is settings - then select all
This selects all your contacts then go to export as tv card or something like that
A window pops up asking u to save - save onto ur computer where u can access easily
go to ur email, compose new email & attach the saved contact list that u just saved onto ur computer
on ur phone open mail, then open ur email with the attached contacts
open the attached contacts - at the top it will say ' add all contacts' select that
then it will pop up 'create as new contacts' or 'merge contacts'
i selected create as new contacts as iphone 4 deleted all my contacts from my phone
after a while it downloaded all my contacts back onto my phone which I double checked by entering the contacts app from my iphone
so happy i got all my contacts back yay! i had over 400!!!

Syncing Iphone and Iphone has deleted ALL contacts from Outlook - Help!

I have on many occassions synced my Iphone without issue.
This time syncing the IPhone has deleted ALL the contacts on the hone and WITHIN Outlook.
Can I regain the lost contacts safely from the back up?
I have over 300 contacts and don't want to have to copy them all in manually.
Any advice will be appreciated.

Restore the missing contacts file on your PC from your PC backup.
Or, it you've backed up your iphone to icloud or itunes, you can try performing a restore of the iphone.

iCloud isn't a backup where Contacts etc. are concerned, it's a syncing service. Any changes you make on any device connected to it are transmitted to iCloud and then to other devices. If your son signed into your iCloud account and deleted contacts then that's the same as if you had deleted contacts on your own device. I'm afraid that as far as iCloud is concerned, deleted is deleted. If you don't have an independent backup such as Time Machine, or a backup of your iOS device on iCloud or iTunes, then you can't retrieve your data. If you had made a backup of your iOS device you can restore that - it will restore the entire backup so any changes made subsequent to the backup will be lost.

Initial Activation Remark = I used my gmail email account to add contacts initially. But phone always failed to sync (back) with gmail after the initial setup. As in if I make any changes in the iPhone’s Contact List, it won’t automatically be saved to my gmail account. But I thought to keep a full phone back up on my MacBook Pro will be safer option as well.

I am in the great trouble because my 1100+ contact list just zeroed by this new update.
[Also, my iCloud all got screwed up. I had earlier used my wife's credit card to register for iTunes, and now my account got her name all over it. There is no option to change the name on icloud.com. I will start a new discussion for this problem.] Though I am trying not to lash out on Apple (for now), but I think that it is seriously getting into my nerves.
Could anyone please help me to get my contacts back? I will be eternally grateful.
I still got the Full iPhone Backup on my MacBook Pro that I did just before the update.

You might if you select to sync contacts on the Info tab of your iTunes sync settings and sync to an empty contact application on your computer (e.g., Outlook or Windows Contacts). As a safety precaution download the free app My Contacts Backup. This will back up your contacts as an attachment to an email which you send to yourself. If necessary, you can later open this email on your phone and tap the attachment to re-import your contacts to your phone. If you deleted the account by going to Settings>icloud, scrolled to bottom of page and tapped Delete Account, then all you have to do is go to the same page an sign in using the same ID; be sure Contacts is turned on.

All sorted! dont suppose you know how to fix another problem I have??? for weeks now, since updating to ios5 I think, for some reason every time I have tried to log onto app store it says CANNOT CONNECT TO ITUNES STORE. It's nothing to do with my computer, and I've been to the Geniius bar but they couldnt help and nothing I seem to do lets me update my Apps and even worse, I cant even buy any more. Any suggestions?
