Iphone 4s doesn't charge and charging icon never change and i cannot open my phone now?anyone can help me?
anyone can help me...my iphone 4s is not charging and the charging icon remain 1%...and there is a time it will come on and i will try to reset the settings but the problem it doesn't turn on once it dead.And i went to the apple store today and they said the charger connector or the charging port has been bent..they want me to pay 199 plus tax for another phone.Since i have this iphone 4s for 1 year and 2 months so it is very frustrating for me...So i decided not to buy another iphone..If i want to get another one not with apple anymore.So,when i got home,my wife try to make a research on the computer try to troubleshoot on our own because i cannot believe what the Apple manager told us "THE CHARGING COONECTOR HAS BEEN DAMAGED MAYBE BECAUSE i FORCED TO CHARGE EVEN IT DOESN'T FIT" it is a big insult for me because this is not my first phone..So my wife word hard for it and she keep on pressing the power button every 15 minutes..(10-15 seconds and it come on).And again i try to reset again its dead..I cannot turn back on....any advise?looks like apple wants only money and they are not trying there best to help there customer problem.
My question is if the port is damaged,How come the charge sign come ff when i charge...but if there is a chance that the apple logo come on the icon of the battery never change still 1% but it will last for a day..doing phone calls and everything?Please help!

Make sure that it is connected to a USB 2.0 port and not a USB 1.1 as 1.1 will not provide power for connectivity.
Try it in a different USB port and see if it works -

I am also on my forth hard drive on the same model.
When I unpacked the computer, the hard drive did not include OS X either. Actually, it was completely blank. Did not even have a partition table! I have also had random problems with the machine not charging.

Then proceed to repair your QuickTime on Control Panel>Add n Remove Programs >highlight QuickTime, click CHANGE button, then REPAIR. -
I have restored and updated my ipod from recovery mode, however I still have the usb cord and itunes icon on the ipod when it is switched on. How can I get my ipod to work again? I have updated and restored 5 times! When connected to itunes it only shows the summary page saying ipod in recovery mode.
Fixed it!
1. Made sure itunes software was up to date
2. Pressed and held 'home' button and 'on-off' button at the same time for about 10 seconds till ipod reset (I hadn't done this step previously)
3. Connected to itunes
4. Pressed restore and update ipod
Update successful and ipod taken out of recovery mode -

It sounds like you've removed the iCal and Widget icons from your dock and want to get the back there for easy access. The following document goes over dock basics and there's a section (which I copied below) that goes over how to get those icons back on to the dock. Essentially you'll just find the application's icon in your applications folder and drag it back.

Adding and removing Dock items
If you want to add an application to the Dock, click the Launchpad icon in the Dock and drag the application icon to the Dock; the icons in the Dock will move aside to make room for the new one. If you want to add a file or folder to the Dock, just drag its icon from any Finder window (or the desktop) and drop it on the Dock. The resulting icon that appears in the Dock is actually an alias of the original item (it's kind of a pointer to your original item). If you drag an application or file onto the Dock, you'll be able to open it anytime by simply clicking its docked icon. If you drag a folder onto the Dock, a Finder window of the folder's contents will display when you click the folder icon in the Dock.
To remove an item from the Dock, drag its icon an inch or more off the Dock and wait a couple seconds, then release; the icon will disappear in a poof of smoke. There are some icons that you can't remove from the Dock, such as the Trash and the Finder.
Don't worry, you aren't permanently removing the item from your computer; you simply got rid of its Dock icon. If you want that item back in the Dock, locate the application, file, or folder in the Finder (or with Spotlight), and drag it back into the Dock.

In short:
1) Make sure the iPhone is not connected to USB and, if it is on, turn it off by holding the power button and the home button together(takes about 6 seconds)
2) Once it's completely off, hold down the home button
3) While holding home, connect the USB cable and keep holding home until iTunes recognises the iPhone
It will force the iPhone into recovery mode, then you can connect to iTunes and restore your backup. Bear in mind that it will likely need to be updated to 5.0.1 anyway.

Restart with the Mac OS X 10.6 DVD in the drive or with the Lion USB drive connected, hold down the Option key just after the restart, tab to the installation disk, and press Enter. If the computer has a firmware password set, it needs to be provided for this to work.
