Iphone 4s doesn't fully charge under ios 7.0.3

After updating to ios7.0.3, my 4s no longer charges to 100% using an Apple charger.  It will charge to anywhere from 95% to 99%.  However, when I plug it into my computer, or my car, it does chage to 100%.  It worked fine under the previous version of ios7, and there has been no change in battery life.  Any ideas as to what is going on here?

  • Iphone fully charged on ios 8

How to know if the iphone is fully charged on ios 8?

    Hi
The battery sign would be totally Green and secondly if you have enabled battery percentage then there would be 100% which means your battery is fully Charged

No.  It will stop charging when fully charged.  You can leave it plugged in as long as you like.

So I would like you to find out.
You do realise you are not talking to Apple here? We are just volunteer users. For the last time, it does not matter what charge the battery has when you buy an iPhone. If you want to believe that iPhones arrive with a 100% charge, you find out if it's true.

  • IPhone 4 displays the fully charged icon at 96%?

Last night I accidentally unplugged my iPhone charger and when I plugged it back in again my iPhone was showing the fully charged plug icon in the corner despite the fact it was only on about 93%.
I disconnected it and connected it again and it still showed the same. When I restarted my phone, it went immediately from 93% to 96%.
Tonight, I unplugged it at 96% to see what happened and when I plugged it back in again it showed the fully charged icon.
    Any ideas?

I also depleted my battery completely, reset my phone, and let it fully charge without touching it.  That helped for me with the exact same problem.

  • IPhone battery notification when fully charged

    Hello,
I am using iPhone for more than a year now and I enjoy every bit of it.
My question is - Why iOS doesn't notify when iPhone is fully charged? Also, I believe nobody likes to rely on third party app(s) for such notification(s).
It is a serious bug and Apple really needs to look into it. Hope it gets fixed in next update(s).
    Best Regards,

On buying MBP with retina display, one of the Apple genius in the store advised never overcharge it and till date I am acting upon his advice.
Also, he stated don't put your MBP for continuous charging. Charge it in the same way same as you do for your mobile phone.
Anyways, I'll keep on looking charged status (100% charge) like what I and other iPhone users do.
Actually, I take well care of my belongings and iPhone being a premium product, I raised this concern.
Anyways, Thank you very much for your kind support.
The genius was misinformed. There is no way to over charge an Apple battery powered device. The charging circuits in the device itself will never allow that to happen. Once the battery is fully charged, charging stops no matter what you do or don't do to the device.
BTW, this is not an Apple thing. The over charge protection is actually part of the international engineering standards for smart lithium battery technology.

  • How do I check my iPhone 4S battery is fully charged in ios7

I agree 100% but you wont get heard here.

Write them, I did. Hopefully they will turn back like Coke did with Coke II.

  • How do I know battery is fully charged using IOS 7

I dont see any batery fully charged " plug " symbol using my Ios 7 .Is this normal ? When it reaches 100 % the "bolt" symbol is there but no indication is fully charged .This is giving me a doubt whether my phone is fully charged . I tried charging it for extra 2 hours after its 100% charged but still it remain same .

Yes I noticed this myself last night after the update had completed, I'd plugged my phone in to be on the safe side and while ever there is power going to the phone it appears that the lighting symbol will always appear to the right of the battery.
Regarding the charging I came across two methods to do this, but it only works if you're charging/connected to power at the same time. Firstly, check the battery icon itself in the top right, also if you have percentage turned on this should show 100% if not see below.  But the best way is to put phone to sleep then press the home key you'll see the current charge listed directly under the time for a short period, but only if you are currently charging/connected to ac power.
If you want to see the percentage then select Settings>General>Usage and scroll down until you come to Battery Percentage flick switch to green to turn on.
    Regards,
    Steve

  • 4s doesn't stop charging since Ios 7 installed?

    Does anyone have this issue?
Previously to installing Ios 7, when my Iphone 4s (and other devices) was fully charged the icon would change from a lightning-bolt-on-the-battery "charging" icon to an electrical-plug-on-the-battery icon to signify both that it was done and that it had stopped charging, preserving the battery life.
Since installing Ios 7, the charge hits 100% but there's no icon change and, 20 minutes after it hit 100%, the phone is still hot indicating that it's still charging.
Is this the case for anyone else?  Does this mean that I can't safely plug the phone in to charge overnight or I'll burn out the battery?

If you're phone is getting hot, as opposed to warm, while charging. you may have a hardware problem. You might want to have Apple take a look at it.
    Best of luck.

  • My Iphone 4S doesn't turn on after IOS 7 updates

    Hei guys,
I have an iphone 4S. Few days before the release of IOS7 I managed to download the beta version to my iphone. Everything was going fine until the first update of IOS7. It shuted up completelly. I manage to make it alive again, but today, it got ran out of battery and now I can't turn it on any more. I tried quite a few things. My Itunes recognizes the iphone when I plug it onto my computer, however, everytime I press the hold buttom, it doens't turn on. I've tried holding home and hold buttom as well, but everything I have is a weird screen with a big sort of finger print white in the middle of a black screen.
Do you guys know what I can do in order to solve the problem? I've restored and resetted the iphone as well, but it insists in not turning on.
Thank you guys for your attention
    Leandro

    Hi Enriquedelgado35,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.  This article has steps you can take if your iPhone won't turn on without being connected to power:
    iPhone: Hardware troubleshooting
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts2802
Will not turn on, will not turn on unless connected to power, or unexpected power off
Verify that the Sleep/Wake button functions. If it does not function, inspect it for signs of damage. If the button is damaged or is not functioning when pressed, seek service.
Check if a Liquid Contact Indicator (LCI) is activated or there are signs of corrosion. Learn about LCIsand corrosion.
Connect the iPhone to the iPhone's USB power adapter and let it charge for at least ten minutes.
After at least 30 minutes, if:
The home screen appears: The iPhone should be working. Update to the latest version of iOS if necessary. Continue charging it until it is completely charged and you see this battery icon in the upper-right corner of the screen . Then unplug the phone from power. If it immediately turns off, seek service.
The low-battery image appears, even after the phone has charged for at least 20 minutes: See "iPhone displays the low-battery image and is unresponsive" symptom in this article.
Something other than the Home screen or Low Battery image appears, continue with this article for further troubleshooting steps.
If the iPhone did not turn on, reset it while connected to the iPhone USB power adapter.
If the display turns on, go to step 4.
If the display remains black, go to next step.
Connect the iPhone to a computer and open iTunes. If iTunes recognizes the iPhone and indicates that it is in recovery mode, attempt to restore the iPhone. If the iPhone doesn't appear in iTunes or if you have difficulties in restoring the iPhone, see this article for further assistance.
If restoring the iPhone resolved the issue, go to step 4. If restoring the iPhone did not solve the issue, seek service.
    Cheers,

  • Iphone 4s doesn't vibrate after installing IOS 8.1

My Iphone 4s, 32GB lately doesn't seem to vibrate and i suppose it is after the recent update of IOS 8.1 . It does vibrate when i do certain tasks like keying in a wrong password or when i go into Settings>Sound to ensure that vibrate is on for both 'ring' and and on silent. I have restarted(power off and on) it twice and it hasn't helped. i have also just toggled the On/off on the vibrate option, none of which worked. Iam unsure whether this problem had crept while installing IOS 8 itself, since wasn't discernible until lately as i have been getting more calls than normal due to a frenetic time at office. Kindly help with any suggestions or let me know if it is a problem specific to my phone or a software problem which will get rectified in eventual update releases. Other details : It has approx 5GB of space left. All other functions work as desired.

Did you also try to reset the phone by holding the sleep and home button for about 10sec, until the Apple logo comes back again? You will not lose data by resetting.
If this does not work, and to rule out a software issue, set it up as new device, explained here:
How to erase your iOS device and then set it up as a new device or restore it from backups
You may try without using the latest backup first, in case it contained damaged data, causing this problem. If it works after that, use the backup to restore from.
