IPhone 4S doesn't pair with car

I have been searching for a couple of hours for a solution to the issue at hand but thus far have failed to resolve the problem.
I bought my iPhone 4S about two months ago and paired it with my 2012 Kia Soul (without UVO) successfully. I have had no problem establishing a Bluetooth connection between my phone and my car since, until today. My last successful connection was last night. No settings were altered between then and the issue's first occurrence a few hours ago.
When I got in my car and toggled Bluetooth on, "Searching" was displayed on the phone without changing, as though it were not paired with my car. So I went through the pairing procedure in my car's settings. My iPhone detected it (saying "Not Paired"), and prompted me for a PIN. I entered it. The car's display flashed "Pairing Complete"; however, my iPhone prompted for the PIN again. Upon reentry, the phone displayed a typical "Make sure the device is in range" alert, and the car display flashed "Pairing Failed."
I rebooted my iPhone and deleted the pair entry from my car, and I tried the process again. Everything was as I described before. Afterward, my iPhone's name was again an entry in my car's Phone Select menu, as though the pairing were successful. Since then, I restored my phone's settings to those of a five-day-old backup. Same behavior.
Many thanks in advance.

A few notes that I forgot to mention: I tried to rename my phone, which resulted in the same behavior. I have also tried just to skip entering the PIN on the second prompt, which resulted in similar behavior.
It is as though my iPhone forgot that it was paired with my car. The "KIA Motors" entry has disappeared! Is it possible that there is a trace of that old entry left that needs somehow to be cleared?

  • IPhone 4s will not pair with car bluetooth

My new iphone 4s will not pair with the bluetooth in my 07 Volvo XC70. The blue tooth is after market, looks similar to internet photos of Motorolla T605. Blue tooth says to put in scan mode and then enter code when prompted. Pairing fails and then the screen for the code shows up on the phone.
I had a iPhone 3s paired with this Bluetooth, and once when I did a reset of that phone had this issue, put through many attempts it eventually paired. Despite many attempts, I cannot get the 4S running IOS 5 to pair.
The phone does pair with a motorolla bluetooth ear piece.

I've been having this issue since I got an iPhone 4S last week.  (Upgraded from iPhone 4 on iOS 5.0.1)
I would think that this is a software issue but I went ahead and visited an AT&T store to see about a replacement phone.  I was directed to go to an Apple store which I then did.  I explained this bluetooth issue I was having as well as the other issue with no audio on outbound calls (described in a different thread) and they gave me a new phone.
Well, I've tested it several times now with the nav/handsfree systems in two different cars as well as with my headset.  All is good so far!  No drop of bluetooth connection, can switch at will between audio sources and no lack of audio on outbound calls any more.  (And these problems were happening frequently before, even after a complete restore.)

  • IPhone 4S doesn't work with car stereo

For about 2 years I've been using my iPhone 3GS connected to the USB input of my JVC car stereo.  I just upgraded to the 4S and the stereo doesn't recognize the phone at all.  Is this a bug of some kind?
    Thanks!
    Randy

To update my original post, I discovered that my 4S does work with my JVC car radio when I use the Apple USB cable that I use to sync with my PC. This happens to be the cable that came with my 3GS, but it works fine to sync the 4S. I don't know whether the short non-Apple cable I had in the car is broken, or whether something about the iPhone has changed to make it obsolete. In any case, I'm back in business!

  • IPhone 4S doesn't work with car adapter

My wife and I upgraded our 3GS phones to 4S.  We have an aftermarket iPhone adapter in our car, I don't recall the brand, but it worked fine with our Toyota Camry sound system.  We could charge our phones and play music using the factory stock CD transport controls with the adapter.  When we plugged in the 3GS phones, we would get a message "This accessory is not optimized for iPhone..." but once the message was dismissed it worked fine, even with iOS5.  Howwever, my 4S phone does not work with the adapter.  When I plug it in it charges, but I don't get the error message and the music function does not work at all.  Strangely, my wife's 4S works fine.  The only difference is that hers is 16 GB and mine is 32 GB.  I tried removing apps and hard re-starting, to no avail.  Is it possible that the hardware connector on my phone is defective and the contacts for music playback aren't functional?  Any other suggestions?

    I have to ask,
Are you making sure you are in park before attempting the sync?   The car won't allow you to do it in motion, whether or not you're the passenger.

  • Bluetooth on iMac doesn't pair with iPad and iPhone!

I bought a new iMac 27'', and I tried to pair my iPad and iPhone with it,but it wouldn't work, how was that happened and how could I do?
    Thank you, everybody!!!

I tried to pair my iPad and iPhone with it
    For what purpose?
The iPhone can only be paired with a computer for internet tethering.
The iPad cannot be paired with a computer at all, only headsets, stereo headphones and keyboards.

  • My iphone 5 doesn't sync with itunes on my pc. it says this computer has  previously been synced to another io6 device or iphone? please help what to do?

My iphone 5 doesn't sync with itunes on my pc. it says this computer has  previously been synced to another io6 device or iphone? please help what to do?

The error message you're seeing is likely the other way around -- i.e. something like "This iPhone has previously been synced with a different computer".   There's no problem syncing multiple iOS devices to the same computer.
However, the reverse is not true for the iPhone --  you cannot connect an iPhone to another computer without it being erased, even if you manually manage music and video.  So, it sounds like you've been syncing your iPhone to a different computer?
Also, 5.1 (not 5.0.1) is the latest iOS.

  • IPhone 5 doesn't work with Mac OS 10.5.8 - do I need to ugrade to 10.6 and then upgrade to Mountain Lion or can I just upgrade to Mtn Lion right away?

iPhone 5 doesn't work with Mac OS 10.5.8 - do I need to ugrade to 10.6 and then upgrade to Mountain Lion or can I just upgrade to Mtn Lion right away?

At least to 10.6.8. You must do this to upgrade to Mountain Lion.
    Upgrading to Snow Leopard
You can purchase Snow Leopard through the Apple Store: Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard - Apple Store (U.S.). The price is $19.99 plus tax. You will be sent physical media by mail after placing your order.
After you install Snow Leopard you will have to download and install the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1 to update Snow Leopard to 10.6.8 and give you access to the App Store. Access to the App Store enables you to download Mountain Lion if your computer meets the requirements.
         Snow Leopard General Requirements
           1. Mac computer with an Intel processor
           2. 1GB of memory
           3. 5GB of available disk space
           4. DVD drive for installation
           5. Some features require a compatible Internet service provider;
               fees may apply.
           6. Some features require Apple’s iCloud services; fees and
               terms apply.
    Upgrading to Mountain Lion
To upgrade to Mountain Lion you must have Snow Leopard 10.6.8 or Lion installed. Purchase and download Mountain Lion from the App Store. Sign in using your Apple ID. Mountain Lion is $19.99 plus tax. The file is quite large, over 4 GBs, so allow some time to download. It would be preferable to use Ethernet because it is nearly four times faster than wireless.
OS X Mountain Lion - System Requirements
Macs that can be upgraded to OS X Mountain Lion
             1. iMac (Mid 2007 or newer) - Model Identifier 7,1 or later
             2. MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer) - Model Identifier 5,1 or later
             3. MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer) - Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             4. MacBook Air (Late 2008 or newer) - Model Identifier 2,1 or later
             5. Mac mini (Early 2009 or newer) - Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             6. Mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer) - Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             7. Xserve (Early 2009) - Model Identifier 3,1 or later
To find the model identifier open System Profiler in the Utilities folder. It's displayed in the panel on the right.

  • IPhone original doesn't work with Belkin TuneBase FM after 2.0.1 update

iPhone original doesn't work with Belkin TuneBase FM after 2.0.1 update

    Firstly, XE 10.2.0.1 isn't the same as 10gR2 10.2.0.1
It was released a bit later and had some fixes that were in later 10.2.0.x patchsets (and also had some different security settings). Maybe they should have gone with 10.2.1.1.
Second, the embedded PL/SQL gateway was okay for XE, but isn't supported for Apex on the Standard/Enterprise Edition until 11g. It doesn't mean it never works, but it does mean that you shouldn't rely on it.
That said, there are other issues with 10.2.0.1 so I'd recommend going for the latest patchset anyway.
Thirdly, if you get the XDB login dialog box, something has gone wrong. For the embedded PL/SQL gateway, XDB is acting as a virtual webserver. Generally what should happen is you connect to the webserver (XDB) and request a page (the APEX login page) and XDB should give it to you, no questions asked.
If it asks you to login then the XDB webserver is running but is trying to get authorisation before it gives you the page. [By the way, if it does prompt for a username/password, it is expecting a database username/password, not an apex one or an O/S one] I'd suspect something is wrong with the setup.
What happens if you ask for a simple image like

  • IPhone 5 will not pair with Uconncect since 8.1.1 update

iPhone 5 will not pair with Uconnect since 8.1.1 update.  How can I fix this?

Apple would "not" replace my Iphone 5 till went to dealer and had my bluetooth on u connect system updated. Advisor acted like I just come from the planet Mars when I told him what I needed. So a tech advisor went with to my vehicle and connect his 4S then went and about a minute flat "paired" my iphone 5! I seen him go through a step that even the manufacter's manual did not even mention to "pair" an iphone using bluetooth! I then asked what he had done and so he showed me to successfully start the "pairing" process the four digit code he used for the u connect and on the iphone screen came up displaying u connect and just to the right it says "not" paired. I had been there around twenty times myself! He then pressed the "not paired" display and when he did the keypad popped up and the advisor put in the "same" four didgit code that he originally had used to start the pairing in uconnect and then press the "complete or done" button on the iphone keypad after doing this the u connect displays "pairing process has begun" and less than a minute it did! All the phones including my 4GS I "never" had to do that and I had "never" had a pairing problem before so to me it must the new IOS 6 system!

  • TS1398 My iphone 4 doesn't work with public wifi

My iPhone 4 doesn't work with any of the apps apart from weather app when I use public wifi, such as iCloud. The sign still shows that I am connected with wifi hotspot even when the signal is the strongest.
I have tried resting my iPhone 4. But doesn't work. But other wifi such as in my home or at uni which require login work well with the device.  I am not sure what seems to be the problem.

Apple doesnt like generic network names link Linksys, or Belkin - when the network is a generic name there is no way to identify your "linksys" vs my "linksys" so it has trouble connecting and remembering these networks.
You need to connect to a unique network name as described in http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4199

  • TS2756 Does the iPhone 4S supports Bluetooth pairing with iPad mini?

Does the iPhone 4S supports Bluetooth pairing with iPad mini?

Only from within peer-to-peer apps from the app store or internet tehering (if proved by the carrier)
They support bluetooth for handsfree telephone, stereo music, some keyboards, some peer-to-peer apps from the app store, and internet tethering when provided by the carrier.
Other than these it will not connect to another iphone, phone, computer, device, ipad
