IPhone 4S gets warm

When browsing the internet, I've noticed that my iPhone 4S gets really hot.  I can especially feel heat coming out of the sim card slot area.  Anyone having the same issue?
I've made an appointment for tomorrow with Genius Bar to have them take a look.

So I just got back from the Apple store. First off, unless they see an error on their end with the phone they won't replace it with a new one. I spoke with the advisor guy and told him how I travelled far just to come to my appointment and I know that it'll happen again with the phone heating up. He ended up exchanging it after some influencing on my part.
The phone, so far, is ok. Gets a bit warm but not as hot as my old one. I'll keep you up-to-date with the progress of it.
I'm under the Sprint network btw.

my iphone 4s gets warm and loses battery quickly

sounds like a battery defect if it's under warrenty hand it in
if not I would have a 3th party repair place to change the battery as it could begin to expand and break the glass

My iPhone 3GS gets warm and runs out of battery.
No change if I reboot the phone. The only thing that works is to reinstall the phone in iTunes, but the problem soon comes back.

    Hi,
If you Restored from Backup... Then there may be Corruption in the Backup... That being the case, the Next Step is to Restore as New...

  • Is it normal for iPhone to get warm?

Is it normal for iPhone to get hot?

To get warm yes, depending on how you are using the phone.  Playing multi graphic games? yes.

  • IPhone 5 getting warm during texting

Has your iPhone been getting really warm during or after texting?
I'm not sure if this began to occur after iOS 7 upgrade or if it was already happening prior to upgrade.
Do you think this is part of the upgrade or could it be a defective phone, as I barely bought it in August...

    trust Apple.
they say it's normal. that means it's normal.
    battery usage is normal too.

  • Sometimes accu very quick empty. If this happens, Iphone 4 gets warm.

    Hi,
Iphone 4 with newest IOS 6.1. Sometime the accu gets very quick emty (half a day from 100% to 0). If this is happens the Iphone gets warm (both sides, display and back side)
Only a switch to flight modus and back to normal modus helps.

I heared today from the exchange bug and I think that is the problem. I will wait till the patch comes out and will add a comment after install.

Thanks a lot for your reply..So you say your handset getting warmed up is not all worrysome issue..
Am experiencing this when am browsing and performing some multitasks link playing ipod and browsing
It's not worry-some if it's just generally warm. While browsing, or playing music, or doing anything, you should notice a slight temperature increase.
You have to remember that the iPhone 4 is like a computer, with similar parts, etc. When a computer processes, the CPU temperature usually increases due to increased stress. Similar thing for the iPhone.
Once again though, if it gets to the point of discomfort, or even burning, this is NOT a normal experience for the phone.

  • After updating to iOS5 my iPhone 4 gets warm and looses power very quickly. I reduced most of notifications.

I reduced most of the notations and made a hardware reset already. Still the power dropped down very quickly.
    Any ideas?

    Thank you for answering.
I resolved the problem. It is the interaction between MobilMe-Mail-account an iCloud. You have to erase the mobilme Mail-account on all devices after having transferred all data to icloud and desable all syncs (ical, bookmarks, etc.) exclude Mail in other accounts.
I did so and the iPhone battery-life acts as before having updated.
    Try it and good luck.

  • How warm does your iPhone 4 get?

Obviously expecting an iPhone to get warm during use. This is my second iPhone 4, my first one got replaced because I complained about it getting really hot.
Haven't had the same problem with this phone until today (It's nearly 3 months old now) and it's starting to get warm. It might be I'm just noticing it more so and it always happened, but when I play a game like Infinity Blade it gets very hot, which is expectable, the 3D graphics and heavy usage on the CPU. But even when I play a game like Angry Birds my phone gets warm around the SIM tray after about 15 minutes of playing. Is this normal?
    I also don't have 3G/WiFi on.

    Sorry?

i got an iphone 5c last saturday. i noticed that after merely 5minutes of using facebook, my phone got warmer than the usual. i know that phones will get warm if being used but getting a warm phone after just 5minutes of surfing with 3G seems not normal. compared it with iphone 5 and 5s and they are not getting warm like that. is it a software or hadware issue?

My eyes just glazed over...Please in the future break down each of your issues with paragraphs separated by two carriage returns. It would be much easier when trying to address your issues.
Go to Apple menu -> System Preferences -> Keyboard and Mouse -> Mouse
And edit your mouse settings to do what you want it to do.
Secondly, this is not the place to vent. If you have a complaint, there is:
    http://www.apple.com/feedback/
    or http://www.apple.com/contact/
We are just end users here helping other end users.
Third, from my understanding, it would appear you are concerned about the noise the hard drive makes when it falls asleep? Why not put your machine in screen saver mode instead? Apple menu -> System Preferences -> Energy Saver turn off all Energy Saver settings, or set them to run Never.
Fourth, if your machine was purchased just a few days ago, you may still be able to get an exchange from the store, quicker than you can get a repair done. You may want to look into that possibility.
Fifth, it does appear you found the Logic forum. I would persist in asking there how to solve your technical issue with Logic regarding the audio. It may be you don't have to do anything special to the hard drive. Remember audio can be transmitted by wire, avoiding ambient sounds.
    Good luck!

My iPhone 4s gets really warm. Can someone explain why? It gets warm when I'm browsing.

computer CPUs use very small wires that heat up when electricity is passed through them. Its actually one of the major limiting factors in miniaturization, making the wires too small and they melt.

  • My iphone 4 has a black screen and gets warm when charging.

My iphone 4 has a black screen and gets warm when charging. also, the battery runs out unusually fast.  I can still receive calls etc and can see a 'backlight' come on behind the black screen when buttons are pressed, but I can not see anything on the screen. I have tried restoring the phone from recovery mode in iTunes but this does not fix the problem. If it were the screen that needs replacing then would the phone get warm?
    thanks for your help

Look in the dock and see if you can see any scaly blue-ish stuff. Look in the headphone jack under bright light - can you see anything pink?
Take it to an Apple store. They can help you with a repair. If you take it anywhere else, Apple will not repair your phone if anything goes wrong.
