IPhone 4S in London apple stores

Greetings,
I've been trying for some time now to reserve an iPhone 4S in London for my friend to pick it up because I am in Greece but it doesn't work. No matter what time I enter (21:00, 20:55, 22:00 etc) I only see iPhone as unavailable. Yesterday it wasn't unavailable in a certain shop (I think Regent street) but for some reason i was clicking it but nothing happened. Does anyone have an explanation for that? My friend will come in Greece around 20 November, will the stores be normally stocked until then? :/

Nobody here( all Users like you ) will have any idea of potential stock levels but it "seems" that the 64Gb version might be easier to obtain in UK certainly via carrier's stores on contract so possibly with Apple stores too
So if your friend can purchase what ever is in stock on the day you might be lucky

Can I also switch to my own contract? I am on my parents plan as of right now, and need to go to my own contract. If I get an iPhone 5 at an Apple Store, can I switch my contract to my own at the Apple Store? Would they be able to do that for me? Or is that something that only Verizon can do? I think it wouldn't work this way, but I just want the iPhone 5 already, and cannot wait!
Or could I go to a Radioshack or Walmart or Target to buy an iPhone 5 and have them switch to my contract? Again, high hopes, but just asking.

I bought my iPhone 4 from an Apple store a couple of years ago and understood it to be unlocked. Now I am changing provider and it appears to be locked. I have tried the new SIM card with other phones and it is okay. Originally I was with Vodafone and have recently moved to GiffGaff as I reached the end of my contract. The iPhone won't start up instead it says "Only compatible SIM cards from a supported carrier may be used to activate iPhone. Please insert the SIM card that came with your iPhone or visit a supported carrier's store to receive a replacement SIM card."Although my number has been ported across I place the old SIM back in the iPhone and it starts up. Can anyone offer any advice?

If you are in UK
Apple sell unlocked but they will also sell an iPhone with a contract
especially back in iPhone 4 days
If you purchased fron an Apple Retail store ( Apple owned) and paid
full price it should be unlocked as your Apple receipt should show
If not , it is locked but (if in UK ) Vodafone do offer unlocking .
Do a deep search of their site and you will find guidance not easy to find

As Ethmoid says, it is still a CDMA phone as I told you earlier, and it will not work with t-mobile. Even if Sprint unlocked the phone, it would only unlock the GSM side for international use. They will not unlock the GSM side for domestic use in the US.

No Appointments Available in Any London Apple Store - ***?

I am trying to get an appointment to get my MacBook internally cleaned, having used it in Afghanistan for the last 6 months. There are no appointments at all available in any of the London Apple Stores. This is pretty poor to say the least - I understand that it may be necessary to wait a few days, but not being able to book anything is dreadful customer service.

I have had the same problem and it's been going on for quite a while now. You could try Amsys, an Apple certified repairs service. They are very prompt and will pick your computer up and return it as well without you having to bother about taking it anywhere. The only thing is that they will obviously charge you for it. Google them to find out about their fees. Hope it helps.

Take it to an authorized service center or Apple Store in the country where the phone originated. Apple does not sell iPhones in Pakistan, nor will they ship them to Pakistan.

No, they won't. If the phone won't turn on at all, the only way to even attempt to get information off the flash drive would be to turn the whole thing over to one of those data recovery firms like DriveSaver. You're looking at a couple of thousand dollars, at least.

You CANNOT legitmately unlock the AT&T iphone at all.
AT&T does NOT unlocl any iphones at all.
They clearly state this on their website.
