Iphone 4s ios 6 crashing

I updated to iphone iOS 6 on my Iphone 4s, it worked fine for the hour i used it. When i woke up a few hours later every single app started crashing, from safari to maps, after a few seconds the app crashes and i would have to go back in.
The crashing gets quicker and quicker untill i turn the phone off and back on. Then the crashing takes like 30 seconds and quickly speeds up. I can't even message, this is a complete disaster.
My battery lost 25 % in 5 mins now as well... WHAT IS GOING ON?!?!
Is anyone else experiencing this problem? Please I need a fix.

I updated about a week ago as well, and the phone worked perfectly for the first few days.  Then I began to have the same issues as you have experienced.  My phone was warm to the touch, my battery would run down in a matter of hours, and all of my apps would crash a few moments after opening them.  I also tried the hard reboot and restoring the phone via iTunes, which did not work.  Mysteriously the issue stopped for a couple of days and then came back yesterday.  It is apparent from the various message boards that it is NOT a hardware issue, as my 4S is only 6 months old and worked perfectly before the upgrade.  It is also apparent the folks at Apple have no idea what the cause and cure is, as many commenters have tried multiple suggested solutions to no avail.  This morning I took the advice of one commenter and closed out all of my apps, and it worked.  All day my phone has been cool to the touch and the battery is still near 100%, and the two apps I briefly opened (Facebook and mail) worked fine once the phone cooled down (maybe the temp is related to the crashing).  This seems to indicate the issue is with one or more of the apps, and I can't be sure which.  While I still find this unacceptable long term, I will continue to close every app after using it.  Give this a try and see if it works for you as well, at least until we get a real fix for the issue.

  • ITunes 11.3.1(2) (on Mavericks 10.9.4) crashing on sync with iPhone 5S (iOS 7.1.2)

    Hi Apple Community
I recently excitedly upgraded my early 2011 MacBook Pro from OS X Lion to OS X Mavericks but have been experiencing troubles with iTunes since.
When I connect my iPhone 5S (iOS 7.1.2) it opens up in iTunes as normal, but when I hit 'Sync' in the music or podcasts tab, iTunes instantly crashes. Somehow, between the crashing, although iTunes has refused to do a positive or 'additive' sync (if we think of it as adding new content), it has managed to 'negatively' sync in that it has removed all the audio content that was on my iPhone.
So now I am completely music-less and podcast-less, and my commute *****!
I don't have the technical knowledge to make sense of the crash reports, but what I do know is this:
    - The Crash Thread number is variable i.e. is different each time
    - The Exception Type is always EXC_BAD_INSTRUCTION (SIGILL)
    - The Exception Codes are always: 0x0000000000000001, 0x0000000000000000
    - The Crash Threads itself is actually identical each time, as is the accompanying error code (although I don't actually know what they mean...):
    Example A)

    Steps taken so far:
    - I started by restarting iTunes and restarting my MacBook
    - When this didn't work, I backed up my iPhone, wiped it, and restored it
    - This didn't work either, so I kept searching and I read elsewhere in the Apple Forum to go into the Library and delete the iTunes preference files: I trashed com.apple.iTunes.secure.plist and com.apple.airport.opproam.plist (because I thought this might be connected to com.apple.AirTrafficHost, which appears in the crash threads)
    BUT ALAS! To no avail.
    Can anyone help?
I would have uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes too, but can't figure out how to do this as it's integral to Mavericks and I'm not advanced enough to know how to bypass the protection on it.
Am I going to have to resort to wiping my Mac and reinstalling Mavericks? I'm not vehemently opposed to doing this, but just perplexed and frustrated at having so much difficulty with the newest Mac OS, the newest version of iTunes and the newest iOS.... (or at least, the newest available to the general UK public). Besides, I just did this whole process to go from Lion to Mavericks and it's a total faff.
Out of interest, does anyone know what the above code is? If a code at all? Or is it a programming language? How can I learn to interpret and manipulate it for myself?
MASSIVE THANKS to anyone who has actually read all the way through this post!
And even bigger thanks to anyone who is willing to offer their input

  • My iPhone 4S often crash and have a GRAY wifi after iOS 6.1.1

Hello there. I knew that many people have GRAY wifi after updating to iOS 6.
but is it just the wifi that become you guys' problem? because beside gray wifi, my iphone often crash with some app...
I must restart about 1 times in a week. this problem appears after I upgrade to iOS 6.1.2..
there's no problem in 6.1.1 though in the beginning (with 6.1.2) I can turn on the wifi but the connection is REALLY BAD.
so I was trying to reset all network. but then the wifi become gray until now
I already updating to 6.1.3 and there's no change. there's still crash and gray wifi
I tried to reset network, restore without having backup and soft resetting and they didn't help at all.
is there a way to downgrade my iphone? or the only way is to change it to the new one?
because my 4S is just 6 months old, I still have my guarantee.
    please help! thankyou

Same problem here with iPhone 4S IOS 6.1.1, the wifi drops and I have to retype the password...

  • IPhone 4 constantly crashing because I updated to iOS 7!

Ever since I updated to iOS 7. My iphone 4 constantly crashes every time I do anything on it, for example starting apps! (BIG ISSUE)  and they close and I have to restart them. Unlocking my iPhone is also slow. I had to remove my pass code due to my iPhone crashing when I was entering my code. Also when I go to take a picture my camera loading is also slow! Why is this? I thought an update was to make things better not worse! I will not be purchasing an apple product again! And I also have an iPad 2. I refuse to update because I know how bad iOS 7 is!! AWFUL update and I have always been with apple as my phone manufacturer! Never again sort it out!
Any help regarding my problem would be much appreciated!
    Thank you

    reset all settings
settings- general- reset - reset all settings
    now reconnect to wifi
settings - wifi- click network name - enter password - join
if issue persists backup info and restore via itunes

  • Facebook keeps crashing on Iphone 4s (IOS 7.0.3)

I have an iPhone 4s, IOS 7.0.3 and Facebook keeps crashing. I uninstalled the app (both via iTunes and directly on the phone) and reinstalled it => it keeps crashing. I restarted the phone => it keeps crashing. I changed my settings back to factory settings => it keeps crashing. Anyone any idea?

My  4s also has this behavior. Everything was fine before ios 7.03. Now also experiencing bluetooth issues but the worst of it is being at my own home and being unable to connect to my wifi.  My kids have no problems with their iphone 5's. Unless Apple plans to pay for our data, they need to address this problem. I doubt every 4s owner with this problem is prepared to upgrade their phone because the ios update created a problem in the iphone 4s that was never there before. I have already tried all reaonable suggested fixes to no avail. I won't be freezing or blow drying the phone, though. It would be great to hear someone from Apple acknowldge that this problem is known...

  • Iphone 6 - iOS 8.0.2 crashes randomly

I've got an iphone 6 with iOS 8.0.2 installed on it. Unfortunately the iOS crashes at random times while being busy within any app like Whatsapp / Financial apps etc. Sometimes it happends a few times within an hour and sometimes just one time a day. Either way, it does happen every single day.
I've restarted the Phone, did a reset, put a back-up on the Phone but it didn't help. Any ideas?

    Hi Charrypie,
    Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
I imagine it would be frustrating to get a new iPhone 6, update it to iOS 8.0.2, and have an intermittent issue that causes it to unexpectedly appear to restart. I recommend taking a look at the article linked below, it describes a similar issue and provides possible resolutions.
iOS: Device unexpectedly restarts, displays Apple logo, or powers off
    I hope this helps.

  • IPhone 3GS Camera Crashes iOS 4.3 When Device Used In Cold Weather

I was in Chicago today where the weather was in the low 40's (high 20s with the windchill). As I was sightseeing and using my iPhone to shoot casual snapshots, the OS completely crashed when I was trying to take the picture. My iPhone has never crashed for any reason, but I shrugged it off and then restarted the device. I took two more pictures, and then the phone again crashed on the third picture. After another restart, the phone started crashing every time I took a picture without exception.
Fearing the worst that my phone was about to die on me while on a business trip, I headed back to the car and headed for the hotel. As I was driving back, I got to thinking that my phone has never been in weather this cold before (I'm from California). As soon as I got to my room, I put the camera beneath the heating vent and allowed it to warm up. Once it felt like it was room temperature, I picked it up and started shooting pictures to see if I could get it to crash again. After forty pictures, it was still working.
Are there any known issues with the camera sensor on the iPhone 3GS in cold weather? Another poster from Eastern Europe seems to be having the same problem with the same model phone:

  • New iPhone 5 keeps crashing, help?

Okay, so I've just upgraded from my very solid 3GS (a bit slow albiet) to the brand new iPhone 5 which I'm very pleased with, I love it, especially since I've just got retina, Siri and all the rest of the stuff the 4+4S owners enjoyed. There is just a single complaint, the iPhone 5 keeps crashing, every couple of hours I will be doing something, browsing reddit, in messages, it doesn't seem to matter and it will bring strange lines down the screen and restart (I'm guessing it's some kind of kernal panic?) and sometimes springboard will just restart.
Is there any way I can find out what's going on, logs of some kind? Or is that all locked away safe from inexperianced users?
When it came yesterday, it was crashing every few minutes, I plugged it into iTunes on my Windows PC and started a restore, but my ENITRE PC froze up, which it hasn't done in months, is this a coincidence or is because the iPhone is plugged in? (communication issues with the phone perhaps?) - anyway, I did the restore and it is now crashing far less frequantly, every few hours as I said, but I could do to know why? I can't see it being a hardware issue, because it seems like iOS and springboard are just crashing out every so often....
EDIT: It's just crashed twice in the last 20 minutes, once when I opened Siri from the lock screen, and once while I was on the springboard... what on earth is going on??

Springboard just crashed... not sure how much of this is just verbose output... and how much means something, it's a long one (Sorry!) - Would it be worth reinstalling iOS again?

  • HT4972 The computer that I normally sync my iphone with has crashed and all info was lost.... Im trying to sync to my new laptop... how do I do this without losing iphone purchases, apps etc???? Help??

The computer that I normally sync my iphone with has crashed and all info lost.... I'm trying to sync and update with my new laptop but I am getting an error meassage that if I continue all purchases, apps etc will be deleted..... How to I do this without losing all my stuff??? Help I have no clue about technology!!!!!

The official way to do it is to restore the iTunes library that was on your old computer to your new computer using the backup of your whole system you regularly update.  Then you are syncing the phone with the same old library.
Some of the information below is summarized by turingtest2 in the post at https://discussions.apple.com/message/18842615
Your i-device was not designed for unique storage of your media. It is not a backup device and media transfer was designed for you maintaining a master copy of your media on a computer which is itself properly backed up against loss. Syncing is one way, computer to device, updating the device content to the content on the computer, not updating or restoring content on a computer. The exception is iTunes Store purchased content.
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iOS device or iPod to a computer - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1848 - only media purchased from iTunes Store
For transferring other items from an i-device to a computer you will have to use third party commercial software. Examples (check the web for others; this is not an exhaustive listing, nor do I have any idea if they are any good):

Syncing to a "New" Computer or replacing a "crashed" Hard Drive - https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3141 - dates from 2008 and some outdated information now.
Copying Content from your iPod to your Computer - The Definitive Guide - http://www.ilounge.com/index.php/articles/comments/copying-music-from-ipod-to-co mputer/ - Information about use in disk mode pertains only to older model iPods.

  • AirDrop between iPhone 5 iOS 8.1.2 and iMac Yosemite 10.10.1 only working if both have Everyone for AirDrop discovery

AirDrop between iPhone 5 iOS 8.1.2 and iMac 5k Retina Yosemite 10.10.1 is only working if both have Everyone selected in AirDrop discovery options. If the option is set to Contacts Only in one of them then neither device can see the other.
Is there a way to limit AirDrop to contacts only and allow both devices to see each other?
Both are setup with the same iCloud Drive account. I use the iMac to sync iTunes for this phone so the phone does trust this iMac.
    Thanks,
    Vladimir.

I am still having the same issue. I have tried Apple Support AGAIN. Still no resolution.
I cannot use my calendar on my Macbook Air OR my iPhone at all.
iCal just crashes!!! I have tried contacting Google, but they have not responded AT ALL.
Not very happy. Apple have at least spent time trying to sort this. Anyone got any answers?

  • My iphone 4 is crashing every time i try to cut a picture.

From today my iphone 4 is crashing every time I try to cut a picture. It looks like I'm shutting it off (with that white circle rotating in the middle of the screen), but after 10-15 sec it goes back to my homescreen. What is this?
I've noticed that my iphone has gotten way much slower latetly (I've go about 30 % space left), although I have the latest version of iOS. My home button is not working correctly, it takes about 5-10 seconds to open messages and recent calls etc.
What can I do to fix this?

I went to an Apple Store Retail, and asked to be changed camera. The camera was replaced because it was under warranty
