IPhone 4S isn't telling me when I get a text message
Ill get a text message or iMessage and it won't have a banner or anything on the lock screen so ill unlock my phone and the message will just be there this started happening right after I updated to 6.1.3 how can I fix this?
Check if there's a moon icon on the top right of the screen by the battery icon. If you see that icon your "Do not disturb" is on; turn it off and it should fix the problem. I don't recall turning that function on in the first place, but when I checked it was enabled.

When you see the old number come up in the suggested choices look for a blue arrow to the right of the Contact. Tap the blue arrow and then tap Remove from Recents.

My iphone 5 does not notify me when I get a text or incoming call anymore. It will appear on the screen, but the screen does not light up and it does not give me a tone. If the phone is open (home page or any other screen) it will give me a tone.
Turn off Do Not Disturb.

My Iphone 5 will not notify me when I have a text message. There is not banner notification, not sound, or vibration. I have to click on the message icon to even see if I have a text message.
Settings app > Notification Center > Messages (you will need to check both the INCLUDE and DO NOT INCLUDE sections). Set the alerts you wish to see.

i just got an iphone 5c and there is no notifications on my home screen when i get a text message. i have to phsyically open up my messages to see if i have a message. how do i change this so i can see on my home screen when i have a text message?

when I get a text message from my brother or sister who have IPhones there is no text but there is a "download" button. If I tap the download button it beeps but there is no download. My galaxy note 4 uses verizon messages app. how do I get these text messages?
Picture messages without a texting plan are 25 cents each. Better than the $1.99 or $2.99 from the online store....
Attaching to an email would not work as mobile email does "do" attachments.
Sending to your online album will use text messages, I believe. Better to use a micro SD card, save to the card, and transfer them to your computer that way. -

My iphone4 is not ringing, or notifying me when I get a text message or email. It does however vibrate, the alarm works, and I am able to play music. The button to swith vibrate on and off, seems to not be working. Also, the sound buttons. The up button does not work, but the down button does. I have restarted, restored, and changed the ring. Nothing seems to be working. Has anyone had this problem? If so, how did you go about getting it fixed?
Did you accidentally move the slider button above the volume control to the "off" position (orange dot visible)? My husband used to do that all the time.

Hi my parents iphone(4s) and my iphone(5c) were activated with the same email now when I get a text message(imessage) from a friend they also receive the message my friend sent, so how would I turn this off on their phone; because I dont want them to read what my friend is sending me?

Based on your description that both phones are receiving each other's messages, you may need to make sure that the phone numbers aren't both linked to the same Apple ID, and/or adjust which addresses the phones are set to send and receive messages from. I have the iPhone 4. and when I updated the software to iOS6 My notifications don't make a sound anymore, the only sound that I get are text messages, or Email. I checked to see if the other apps were muted and they weren't. How do I fix this
You cannot update iPhone 4 to IOS 8.1.2, the highest you can update is IOS 7.1.2.

HI, I recently upgraded my operating system IOS 5.0.1 on an iphone 3gs. My question is, how do I get the text messaging preview to just pop up so that I can see the name only when the lock screen is on? The conventional ways of doing this, such as using turning off the SMS preview under the "passcode lock", well that option no longer exists, or if it does, I'm somehow missing it.
When I go to the "messages" setting under settings on my phone, I still don't see an option of turning it off.
If I can just get the name of the person sending the message, as I had it before, I'd be happy.

When I send a text message from my iPhone response only comes back to my iPhone . If I send from iPad, response only comes back to iPad. Whichever I used last is where response comes. Responses are not coming to both anymore!
On both devices when you go to settings>messages>send and recieve how are poeple contacting you on each device?. e.g. email or mobile number.
