IPhone 4s keep connecting then disconnecting with new MBA

Hi,
New MBA i5/4g/128 arrived this afternoon. During few hours of setting all my stuff, everything works just fine.
But when I try to connect my iPhone 4s with a official cable, it keeps connecting then disconnecting(about 2 times per second) and won't stop.
Is there anyone met the same issue? please help. Thanks!

Thanks for the reply
I've tried 2 cables at home. 1 is a offical cable and another one is a 3rd party cable, both of them didn't work, and both of them work perfectly with other PCs.
After read your reply, I decide to try another 3rd party cable at office, it worked.
No idea why, but maybe MBA choose cable more sensitively?
Anyway thanks a lot and have a nice day!

  • IPhone 4s keeps connecting and disconnecting from my new Macbook Air 2013

Ok I've been having this problem, I recently got an 11 inch Macbook Air 2013 and after I try connecting my iPhone 4s it keeps connecting and disconnecting every 1-2 seconds. I already check the community, I know this subject has been asked many times. Nothing worked out though. My cable cord must be fine because it works perfectly on my PC. I updated the OS and iOS to their latest firmware and still nothing. Whenever I try opening iTunes I get this message saying " iTunes could not connect to this iPhone. This device is no longer connected. " Please if anyone fixed this issue I would appreciate some help. Thanks in advance.

I just solved it, I hope this helps everyone who is experiencing the same problem. Apparently the iPhone seems to charge normally and connect to iTunes if the iPhone battery is over 60%-70%. This must be a power issue the MBA has.

  • Ipod keeps connecting then disconnecting

I've tried everything possible to try to make my Ipod mini work. I can't connect it to the PC because it keeps connecting and disconnecting repeatedly. I can't restore it since I can't connect it. I've tried all the different USB ports and I've installed and uninstalled all the programs a few times. I've also reset it connected and disconnected. It has worked before but now it won't! This is driving me nuts

Similar problem here too plus when I do manage to get them to connect they will not charge.
Both my classic iPods work fine, in all my computers, and show that they are charging, but my family have 3 nanos, a 4th and two 5ths. Although they all connect to my PC and my laptop fine, none of these will connect correctly to my daughters PC no matter what USB port I put them in.
I have checked in device manager that the ports are powered (500ma) and nothing else is there to infringe on this supply. Still these items connect and disconnect constantly. Ironically every now and then, they will connect and allow me to look at the files etc in iTunes. I have at one point had two nanos and my classic connected to her computer and they all worked fine for about an hour, I thought that I had finally got rid of the problem but one by one the nanos started to play up again so this exacerbates the problem somewhat.
I also get various warnings when the Nanos are trying to connect like, software driver failure to install, it will work faster in a high speed USB port, nano needs formatted to work in windows plus a host of others. When I plug them back into my PC they connect fine, so that all adds to the confusion. If this was one nano I would suspect that it was faulty but it is three different ones.
I have done the 5 Rs, I have even gone as far as upgrading from XP to Windows 7, I have plugged the units into every USB port, I even bought a new PCI/USB card and tried that and still this problem persists.
I would like to hear from someone with any suggestions as to what is causing this and how to fix it.

  • Ipod keep connecting then disconnecting... What do I do?

I have a 4th generation Ipod nano. I tried to connect it to my computer to put new songs on it, but when I plugged it into the usb connector it went crazy. It goes from being connected to being disconnected, connected to disconnected... It continues untill I finally remove my Ipod. It never shows up on Itunes during the process either. What should I do?

Have you tried connecting it to a different USB port on your machine? Maybe attempt to restart the iPod (which will take it out of Disk Mode) by toggling the hold switch on and off a few times, then pressing and holding the Center and Menu buttons together until the Apple logo appears.
Maybe also attempt to use a seperate USB cable to sync the iPod with.
How long will it stay connected? Does it appear in "My Computer"? If it does (for a long enough period of time), maybe try reformatting it using the tools provided by windows.

If still no luck, also try plugging your iPod into a different computer if possible, to see if the problem lies with the iPod or computer. If you can get it hooked up to a second computer OK, I would recommend restoring it via iTunes.

  • IPod keeps connecting then disconnecting immediately... help?

So, I bought my iPod nano in April and it worked perfectly until about 1 month ago when my computer suddenly stopped recognizing it, and now whenever I try to connect it it disconnects after 1 second, then connects again, then disconnects etc etc....
I know this is a known issue cause as I've been trying to solve this for one month I've done some searching and seen plenty of other people having the same problem, but no one seems to have a resolution that works.
Basically my exact same problem is described in these 2 threads:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2240335&tstart=0
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1847791&start=0&tstart=2
I've done every thing suggested but no luck... I went back to the store as well and they didn't find anything wrong with it, so obviously it's my computer (I tried it at my mom's work as well and it worked there) but I don't know what's causing the problem. I don't wanna get my iPod replaced or buy a new one because it might just as well happen to that one too and then I'm stuck in the same boat again. Getting a new computer isn't really an option either. :/
So, any kind of help that hasn't been suggested already would be highly appreciated...
    thanks in advance

  • Iphone 4 repeatedly connecting then disconnecting at random times.

    Hi,
Well that is just it. I have tried all the normal solutions seen when Googling the problem, uninstalling this and reinstalling that... none of it works. I didnt drop it, I didnt spill liquid on it. No physical damage occured to the Iphone, or my computer or USB ports, I didnt update anything, and it was working fine a couple weeks ago (last time I synced). I plug it is via USB (yes, it is USB 2.0) and, sometimes after a few seconds, sometimes just long enough to ALMOST finish a sync, it disconnects. Then it reconnects, and it does this repeatedly. Sometimes it will stay connected until I click sync, then 'poof' it disconnects.
It did make it through a sync once but it didn't try to back up the Iphone, and it didnt add any songs.

    Thanks for the suggestions.
I must point out that there is no other device I own that has ever shown connectivity problems on said computer and even now, even when charged to 100% I still cannot stay connected through a sync. I havent had any trouble with the phone since purchase about 3 months ago other than this connectivity issue (very recent) I have uninstalled and reinstalled all versions of Itunes compatible with the phone to see if there was a problem with an update. I have done this methodically and according to Apples instructions on how to uninstall / reinstall.
Now, for the restore suggestion. This may have worked, had it stayed connected long enough to make it through a back up / restore cycle. It didnt. Now, on the data breakdown that I see when the device is connected to Itunes, I get a nice red area of unknown data allocation. The connectivity is just like I was plugging it in and unplugging it repeatedly. Sometimes it will connect and disconnect 3-4 times in the space of 2 minutes. Sometimes it will make it through all steps of the sync, until the "finshing sync" part, and then at about 90%, it stops as it has suddenly disconnected itself.
Money well spent I'd say. As a first foray into the Apple world. I am truly impressed.

  • Why does my iPod Classic keep connecting THEN disconnecting immediately?

Here's the deal, I bought my iPod Classic used, and is the 160GB version in "space gray".
I connect my iPod Classic, and immediately it disconnects itself right away(!!). I would have searched a question, but let's face it, all the other info is now out-dated. So please, help!

  • When charging phone it connects then disconnects over and over

for some reason tonight when i am charging my phone it keeps disconnecting. i haven't done anything to the phone today other than using it. itunes says to restore but the phone keeps connecting then disconnecting. what should i do? take it in to at&t? no apple store around me.

AT&T doesn't do repairs. Either need to take to Apple store or call 1-800-MY-IPHONE and choose for the "ship it in" option where they will send you a pre-paid return box to ship it in and send it back to you after.
However, issue could be your cable, or your computer just having issues as well. If you have access to another cable, I would try that, also with a reboot. I would also see if you can charge with the wall adaptor with your current cable, if you can, it may just be your computer is having an issue with it.

  • Why does my iPad keeps connecting and disconnecting from the new late 2013 iMac

    Hi there,
I've recently bought a new late 2013 iMac and ever since then I'm not able to connect my iPad 2 to it. When I do connect it keeps connecting and disconnecting  again and again for some reason. The cable is fine and I've tried it with other devices. Just wondered why this is and whether you guys can help me out.
    Thanks a lot!
    CitizenJohnny

    Hi,
I had the same problem and just found a solution. I tryed restoring all content and settings on the iPad (Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings). It took lots of time, however it didn´t work because when I connected the iPad and iMac the problem persisted.
Then I thought it wasn´t an iPad problem but iMac OSX problem. So I searched the web for "Reinstall Mavericks" and found this http://support.apple.com/kb/PH13871?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US.
It also takes like 6 hours with my internet speed. Next day I connected the iPad and everything is just fine.
I described both processes because I don´t know if in the end the iPad reset helped in the solution.
    Hope that helps! good luck

  • When booting up, the bluetooth connects and then disconnects with my trackpad 3 or 4 times then i get a gray cover over the desktop that drops from top to bottom then a window that tells me to use the power button to do a forced shutdown.

when booting up, the bluetooth connects and disconnects with my trackpad 3 to 4 times and then i get a gray sheet that drops down from the top to bottom of the desktop then a box in the center that tells me to use the power button to do a forced shutdown. wireless keyboard connects with no problem. went to the apple store and they replaced the bluetooth card. still have the same problem. removed the batteries from the trackpad, strted up and no problem connecting with wireless mouse and keyboard. anyone else experience this?

This could be a software/state problem or a hardware problem.  Here are steps to resolve the former.

  • When i plug the USB for my iPad into my computer it will connect then disconnect over and over again untill i wiggle the usb around alot. This is happening to all my ports. But not on the other computer.

Hi. Whenever i plug my iPad (Happens with ipod and iphone too) to my computer usb for itunes is will connect, then disconnect over and over again. It has happened for a long time but doesnt happen on my other computer. how do i fix this?

If you have a spare cable, try using that.  But the fact that this doesn't happen on your other computer (I assume using the same old cable) leads me to conclude that something else is at work.  Maybe even the "bad" computer.
