IPhone 4S keeps resetting when i try to edit photos

Not sure why but everytime I try to edit/crop a picture my computer automatically resets, is this a common fault with the latest software upgrade?

Hi, my iPhone 4 is functioning normally apart from when I got to edit a photo. When I press edit on a photo the phone turns off and restarts. What do I do to stop this from happening?

    Stop doing that.
Seriously though... does this happen when attempting to edit one specific photo or all photos?

my iphoto 9.1 keeps crashing when I try to edit/rotate photos, any ideas?
It will let me do 1 or 2 and then will show 2 photos at once overlayed and then crash...I look for updates and it says I have the most current version...
    any help will be appreciated!
    thank you, angela

First make a temporary, backup copy (if you don't already have a backup copy) of the library and try the following:
1 - delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your
         User/Home()/Library/ Preferences folder.
2 - delete iPhoto's cache file, Cache.db, that is located in your
         User/Home()/Library/Caches/com.apple.iPhoto folder.
3 - launch iPhoto and try again.
NOTE: If you're moved your library from its default location in your Home/Pictures folder you will have to point iPhoto to its new location when you next open iPhoto by holding down the Option key when launching iPhoto.  You'll also have to reset the iPhoto's various preferences.

  • Why does my 3G 5.1.1 reboot when I try to edit photos?

    Hey guys,
So I recently (yesterday, May 17, 2012) did the software update iOS 5.1.1 on my iPhone 3G. Since then I have been experiences a pretty frustrating issue...
When I try to edit my photos, cropping a photo for instance, my phone reboots itself. Every. Time. >__<
I don't want to lose all my data on my phone so putting it into Recovery mode and then "Restoring" it won't work because that supposedly erases all your media, etc.
Does anyone know the solution to this problem?? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new).  Try those steps in order.
As for putting it in DFU mode and restoring, why in the world would you jump to something so drastic to begin with?  Furthermore, if the device is synced to and backed up to a computer regularly, nothing will be lost.

  • HT201412 My iPod Touch 4th Gen keeps shutting off (like it's dying) and turns white and looks frozen...then an apple logo appears and takes a while to come back on. This only happens when I try to edit photos (cropping, especially)? Help me pleaseee!

When this happened the first time, I seriously thought it wouldn't come back on. I was trying to crop something out of the of a photo and it shut off like it was dying (it was fully charged) and then froze, turned white, then an apple logo appeared. Once it turned on i went back to do what i was doing and it did it again. The next time it turned on, I went to play Design this Home, and it didnt shut off..so my only reasoning is that this happens when i edit a photo...i haven't done anything abnormal with my iPod and don't understand why this is happening...please please help!

That is a known bug in iOS 5.1.1. The iPod "crashes" when editing photos. Just do not edit photos and wait for the next update. Most users have said it crashes when editing screen shots.

  • IPhoto '08 - No image comes up when I try to edit photos.

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Try the two fixes below in order as needed:
    Fix #1
Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys depressed and follow the instructions to rebuild the library. Select last three options.
    Fix #2
Rebuild the library using iPhoto Library Manager as follows:
Using iPhoto Library Manager to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
1 -Download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
2 -Click on the Add Library button, navigate to your User/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
3 - Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File->Rebuild Library menu option
4 - In the next window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
5 - Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments but not books, calendars or slideshows. The original library will be untouched for further attempts at fixing or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.
    OT
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier versions) database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger or later), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. There are versions that are compatible with iPhoto 5, 6, 7 and 8 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. Just put the application in the Dock and click on it whenever you want to backup the dB file. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.
NOTE: The new rebuild option in iPhoto 09 (v. 8.0.2), Rebuild the iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup" makes this tip obsolete.

  • My iPhone 3GS keeps freezing when I try opening a text.

I have an iPhone 3GS which I updated to iOS 5 a few days ago.
The update has been fine up until now.
When I receive a text or email notification, I "slide to read" and as soon as I slide the button across to the right the iPhone freezes and I have to hold down the home button and lock button for it to restart.
It has done this 5 times now.
Any ideas as to why this is happening?

Try restoring the phone. Do a backup of your data on iTunes by syncing it to iTunes (or right click your iPhone and click backup) and then do a restore by clicking "restore". Do not disconnect the iPhone until it is done. After it is done, iTunes will prompt you if you want to restore from backup. Click your backup and let it run through it's process again. See how that works. It just could be a software issue.

  • My iPhone keeps restarting when i try and edit my pictures

i can open my pictures and view them but when i hit edit then crop it restarts i have tried restoring it and it didn't work?

Do you receive any error messages?  Without a more specific error messages I would recommend completing the steps listed in Troubleshoot system errors, freezes | Windows | Adobe software - http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/troubleshoot-system-errors-freezes-windows.html.  Please feel free to respond to this thread if you have any questions about the steps listed within the document.

  • Iphoto keeps crashing when I try to export photos to Facebook

...then it has to restore my library, what is going on and how do I fix it?

First go to the iPhoto/Accounts preference pane and delete your Facebook account.  Then add it back and try again.
If that doesn't work you'll have to use the workaround of exporting to the Desktop and uploading to FB with your browser.

  • Help! iPhoto keeps crashing when I try to export photos

I'm working on a MacBook Pro (about 3 years old), and recently updated to Mountain Lion and iPhoto 9.  Aside from opening iPhoto9 to confirm that my photo library was there, I didn't "use" the software until this morning.
I uploaded photos from my camera (via USB cable), edited them, dropped them into an album, then clicked "Export" with the intent of exporting them to my Shutterfly account.  However, iPhoto abruptly closed and I got the following error message:
"iPhoto quit unexpectedly while using the HPPhotoExport plug-in."
I re-opened iPhoto to find that the photos I had uploaded did not show up in the album I had created, or my library, or under "events", and I'm not sure where else they could be.  I reconnected my camera to re-upload the photos, and iPhoto recognized the photos I had previously uploaded as having been uploaded already.  I selected them to upload them again.  Edited them again.  Dropped them back into the same album.  Tried to export again and got the same result.
Any ideas on what the issue might be???  Thanks!!
