IPhone 4s memory
My wife has an iPhone 4s 8G. She wants to download iOS 8.0.2 but is told that she needs 4+G of memory and doesn't have enough. Is dumping apps the only way to clear memory?
How much memory does the OS take once installed?
If she dumps apps will she be able to redownload them?

From what I understand, it sounds like you are running low on your iPhone hard drive storage and you purchased iCloud storage hoping that would alleviate the situation. iCloud storage will not increase your iPhone’s hard drive storage.
iCloud: iCloud storage plan overview
When you sign up for iCloud, you automatically get 5 GB of free storage. Your iCloud storage is used for iCloud Backup, app data and documents stored in iCloud, and iCloud Mail (your @icloud.com email account). If you need more storage space, you can upgrade to a larger storage plan. For more information, see the Apple Support article Storage upgrade pricing.
What I would recommend in this situation would be to check what is using your storage space on your iPhone and free up some spaced based on what you no longer need on your device. Please let me know if I can be further assistance.

You do the opposite of how you got them on your phone, you unsync the pics using iTunes.

Most of my iPhone 4 memory is taken up with "other" there is no reason for this. I have tried to clear as much history as possible but cannot reduce the size of this.
Try
Do a reset (Hold Sleep/Wake and Home buttons about 10 secs or more till Apple logo appears) -

Firstly you DO NOT have to do a factory reset / wipe device, it is simply not required to get the space back!!
Mine had 3GB and I just got rid of it all, here is how:
Make a backup in iTunes
open iBackupBot (Google it)
Go to the relevant backup
Click on Multimedia File Manager and click on the other Multimedia files tab
Sort by filename by clicking the Filename tab
Find MediaDomain/Library/SMS/Attachments and highlight all of them, then press delete. You can also click to export to a folder of your choice, if you want to save them that is.
Then go to System Files>MediaDomain>Library>SMS>Attachments
They will be all listed here, highlight them all and press delete
Then just restore that backup using iTunes!
Tadaa! Space recovered, your messages are still there but without the attachments!
P.S You may want to make two backups in case you get any of the above steps wrong, but it is simple to follow the above and not do anything wrong! -
I recently upgraded to iphoto 11 v. 9.2 and now iphoto crashes every time I try to upload photos. I have tried to upload from my camera via usb, from my iphone, and from the memory card directly and it crashes every time. What can I do to fix this problem?
It was the folder that I trashed.

I have an Iphone 5 16gb and it is continuously running out of memory. It have 18 apps, 30 songs, 500 pics and 150 videos and I have to delete them constantly to make room for new ones. I previously had an Iphone 4 with the same memory which held twice as much data as this one. My partner also has an Iphone 5 with the same storage with 2 or 3 times as much data on it and it still says that he has 2gb of storage left. Is there a problem with my Iphone or is there anything I can do to free up more storage. Thanks!!

Try disconnecting and reconnecting your device, then syncing again to solve this issue.
Orphaned files may remain on your iOS device if it is physically disconnected while syncing music, podcasts, videos, or photos. This can prevent iTunes from syncing the iOS device on subsequent sync sessions. When this happens, the Capacity indicator in iTunes may report a large amount of "Other" disk usage for the iOS device. To resolve this issue:
Turn off the music or photo sync option in iTunes for the device.
Click Apply to sync the changes to the device.
Turn the music and photo sync options for the device on again.
Click Apply again to try to sync the device to iTunes.
If the 'Not enough free space' alert appears, continue to step 5.
Turn off the automatic syncing functions for the iOS device. To do this:
Select the iOS device from the iTunes window and click the Summary tab.
Deselect "Automatically sync when this device is connected" and select the "Sync only checked songs and videos" checkbox.
Click Apply to sync the changes to the device.
Reduce the amount of data that is being synced to the device and resync the device. For example, if syncing your Music library exceeds the memory capacity of the device, choose "Selected playlists" to transfer rather than "All songs and playlists" under the Music tab in iTunes.
If the 'Not enough free space' alert appears, continue to step 6.
Restore using iTunes.

I installed Snow Leopard and now I can't import pictures from iphone or memory chip.
I installed Snow Leopard to my Mac Book Pro and when I went to import pictures from my Iphone 4 to the Mac I received a message that it could not read the files. I also tried importing pictures from my camera's memory card and got the same error. This hadn't happened before the installation of Snow Leopard, what could it be?
update SnowLeopard to its latest version, v 10.6.8, and alongside that also your iTunes to v10.5
Use disk utility to repair the OS permissions after all updates are in place. -
Iphone 6 memory keeps fluctuating
I have an iPhone 6 with 16GB with the latest updates. Every once in a while it says I have no memory at all so I delete an app or two and it does nothing. Then a little while later it says I have 5 GB available of memory. The apps I delete do not take anywhere near that much amount of space. It just recently started doing this. And then later after downloading a different app or taking a short video the memory goes back to 0 GB. Not too sure what is causing this.
Did you check for any photos still in the "recently deleted" album in the camera roll? Pictures you delete stay there for a while before they will be finally removed from the phone.

What is size of your Media Card ?
If this happening within Media Card then first do a Backup of your Media Card then format your Memory Card from within your Device Or using a PC. To format your Memory Card from within your device Go to Options > Device > Storage > On that Screen Press the Menu Key > Hit on Format .
In addition be sure that you have enabled Media Card Support , Homescreen > Options > Device > Storage > Be sure that Media Card Support is Marked or Ticked .
Try it and see if that help.

Using iphone as memory device for documents (like memory stick)
I am a new iphone customer. Is it possible to store a few important documents on the iphone as you would use a memory stick? With all the iphone memory, it would be nice to be able to store those documents. I apologize if this is too basic a question, but I have so much to learn!
As already mentioned the iPhone can't do this, although an iPod can. However, I don't much see the point, as you can now get an 8 GB thumb drive for under $30 and save all of that valuable (and expensive) real estate on the iPhone for music and video.

If you have to ship your phone back to the US, then you will need to ship is to a friend or a relative who actually lives out there. You CANNOT ship it directly to Apple as they will not accept it. Send it to a relative or friend that you have there and if you don't have any, then you are out of luck as there is nothing that you can do.
That is why is was not really a good idea to purchase an iPhone is the US when you are ultimately going to use it in China. With no international warranty on the iPhone you are stuffed really. You should have bought it in China and then you would not be facing this problem.
Nothing you can do except get on a plane and fly to the US or send the phone to a friend or relative. -
[iPhone] UIWebView memory optimization
As we know the iPhone will keep Safari running in the background which usually consumes about 17-24 MB of the ram at any given time.
If I have an application that opens a view that is basically a UIWebView with a URL loaded to it, it seems to take about 15 MB of ram to do this.
Is there any way to load a UIWebView and not take up so much of the system RAM to do it? All I am doing it a:

Does anyone have experience trying to optimize memory usage with a UIWebView?

16GB iPhone 4S memory/usage problem
I have a 16GB iPhone 4S. I used to have thousands of pictures, 3 pages of apps, and around 200 songs. Now I only have 7 apps, 200 photos and 90 songs and my phone says it have no more memory. When I connect my iPhone to iTunes it says my 200 photos are taking up 9.6GB, I know this isn't right. I don't even have enough memory to update to the new iOS 6. Can anyone help tell me what is wrong with my phones memory and any ways to fix it?? Thanks.

What does this relate to and how can I pair down or eliminate this memory "usage" to gain more space for music, book, apps etcData & Documents is all the info used in the apps on the iDevice.
