Iphone 4s Missing Odd Outlook Contacts

Hello
When I bought the iPhone I set up a new user account on the PC coz I didn't want Apple messing up my life and I only use it for this phone.  Contacts are backed up to Outlook with only one account set up and again only for this phone.
It bugs holy heck out of me that Outlook still manages to create two contacts list (contacts and contacts mobile) but I'm learning to live with that.
My problem is that I have noticed at least two contacts, there may be many more,  that don't appear in Outlook.
They do not disappear from the phone when sync'd so they must be stored somewhere but I can't find them in Outlook and I've checked every line of both contact lists.
So, can anybody tell me where I might find something that doesn't show up in the Outlook address book?
I realize that this may be more an Outlook than an Iphone question but I figured as more Iphone users might need Outlook than Outlook users needed Iphones,  I'd try here first.
Regards

This happened to me as well... I was missing 300+ contacts but not sure which ones until I went to call them or would receive phone calls/texts with no names attached.  The missing contacts were completely random.  However, it happened after I re-installed and set-up my work e-mail exchange...  To fix it, I went to settings, then to "mail, contacts, calendars" then to my e-mail account, then switched contacts from "off" to "on" and all 300+ missing contacts re-appeared.  Hope this helps...

how do i get contacts from iphone to merge with outlook contacts

If Outlook already has a munch of contacts, do I need to delete them all (all but 1 unique) to sync correctly?
I have and iPhone ith up to date contacts, and I have outlook with some of the same contacts with older info. When I sync, outlook is OK, but I get a lot of copies of the same contact on my iPhone. Now I'm not entirely sure which are the up-to-date contacts and which aren't (and there's hundred of contacts to go through).
...For future reference, is there a way to to send the iPhone contacts to Outlook without adding crap to my phone? Amidst the sync process I noticed and option for conflicting files and choose the "always use phone" but still wound up with a contact mess of mixed old and new on the phone.

  • Iphone does not sync OUTLOOK CONTACT NOR CALENDAR EVENTS (XP)

I was able to sync photos- music but no contacts-Calendar events from OUTLOOK 2003. The fact that my outlook PST file is not located in the default Outlook directory could be the problem but I am not sure. Anyone out there having the same issue??? Please let me know. thank you. Phil

Have no problems here with Vista and Outlook 2003. PST is not saved in default location, syncs without a hitch.
Seems problems are hit or miss. I have had a flawless experience while my brother who bought one at the same time is having a nightmare of a time with his install. From iTunes 7.3 crashing to activation nightmares.

  • IPhone can't sync Outlook contacts in Windows 7

    I'm using iTunes 11.2.2.3 Windows 7 Enterprise.
When syncing my iPhone 4s, syncing goes on for hours without completing.
Nothing new except iTunes 11.2.2.3 and maybe a couple of contacts.

    You can't.
It doesn't work in this context because that is how most or many employers want it - just like many employers don't allow their employees to access a company Exchange account with an email client on a personal computer at home.
You might be able to extract the contacts from your iPhone's backup for import into the Windows Contacts app. Here is one 3Rd party utility that provides for extracting select data from your iPhone's backup on your computer's hard drive.

  • After I sync my IPhone with Outlook, some contacts only appear on the IPhone and NOT in Outlook

I have been syncing my phone with Outlook for some time successfully but just noticed that there are now contacts on my Iphone which don't appear in my Outlook contacts. I also noticed that those that appear in both places have "linked cards" on their contact information on my Iphone while the ones that don't appear in Outlook are missing this "linked card" designation. I just signed up for ICloud so don't know if that has anything to do with it. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

For example, i just created a new contact on my phone, and when i plugged it into my computer and hit the sync button, the new contact that i just created on my phone did not show up in my outlook contacts.

  • New iphone 4 outlook contact updates not syncing to phone since i downloaded icloud

Just purchased my first iphone after only using Androids or Blackberry, from Verizon.  At the store they helped me set up itunes on my laptop to sync my Outlook Contacts and Calendar to the phone.
It seemed to be working fine until I was offered the opportunity to download iCloud. Now the calendar entries on my computer still transfer to the phone but the contacts are not transferring. When I went back to Verizon to ask...they suddenly have amnesia and told me to contact Apple.
In settings under iCloud I have Mail, Contacts, Calendars all set to "On". I can't see anything else that should be on.
    Any suggestions?

I'm having the same problem with one of my apps. I'm just going to wait it out and I feel fairly confident that this issue will clear itself up in time on its own. If not, I'm just going to delete the app...the app is I Say Free so no big whoop.

  • I have an iphone 3 and outlook 2010. I cleaned up all my outlook contacts and tried to sync but not all of the existing contacts on my phone show up in outlook. Is there a way to sync all numbers on iphone to oulook so I can clean them up from my desktop?

I have an Iphone 3 and use Outlook 2010. I just recently tried to sync with my desktop using Itunes and once they were synced I cleaned up alot of the contacts using outlook but when I tried to sync them not all the information from outlook made it to my iphone. Additionally, there are a lot of contacts in my iphone that are not showing up in outlook. I have tried several things but nothing seems to work. Any ideas?

  • How do I make my iPhone stop automatically syncing duplicated Outlook contacts?

My Outlook stores multiple contacts for the same person automatically (one with an email address only, one with a phone number only, etc.). When my iPhone syncs with the cloud it stores those multiple contacts and makes it frustrating to look up one person's number and email under separate entries. How do I prevent my iPhone from storing the duplicate contacts?

    Thanks Jim,
I'm looking for a way to automatically unify the contacts that are automatically synced from my Outlook. Is that a possibility?
Also, do you know how to unify Outlook contacts in the same way you would on the iphone?

  • HT4528 How do I sync my iphone 5 with microsoft outlook to load my contacts?

How do I sync my iphone 5 to enable me to link my microsoft outlook contacts and vice versa?

In iTunes, once the phone is connected, go to the Info page and where you select contacts, select Outlook as the program you want to sync with. If you have never synced them before and the contacts application on the phone is empty, you will need to put a unique contact on the phone, one that does not exist in Outlook before syncing. It will then generate a dialog box asking if you want to merge or replace. Select merge. You can always delete this contact after the sync.

  • How do I automatically sync outlook contacts to iphone contacts? My email and calendar does this but even though in settings I have the contacts ON it does not.

How do I get my outlook contacts to automatically sync to my iphone 5? In settings I have it set up to do so BUT it does not. My email and calendar updates every 1/2 hour but I can't get my contacts to auto update. Please advise.

Start with your finger at the bottom of the screen (about even with the home button) and swipe in an upward motion.  There should be a row of icons at the top of a grey field.  if the quarter-moon icon is bright white, tap it.  If it was (and still is) dark, take the iPhone in to be evaluated by a qualified technician.

  • In attempting to sync my Outlook Contacts to my iphone 5, Outlook shows in the drop down, but it does not allow click-on, then below is listed only my email information, nothing else, no calendars, contacts.  When I click on the email, it adds new acct

In attempting to sync my Outlook Contacts to my new iphone 5,in iTunes,  Outlook shows in the drop-down box, but it does not allow click-on.  Individual items are not listed to click on. The only listing is my email address and when you sync it, it really does not sync, it adds another email account with the same name, and no contacts sync with it.

also - when I use camera wizard it just tells me the phone is busy or in use  and I should retry.
If I use it through windoes explorer - it shows me the camera to computer symbols and a line moving between then but bombs out saying camera is busy.

  • IPhone no longer syncs with Outlook Contacts/Calendar

For months I was syncing with my computer at home for music and videos, then I bring my iPhone to work and sync my Outlook Contacts and Calendar.
Now, when I plug in my iPhone on my work computer, everything operates as it used to, it still says it's syncing contacts, then syncing the calendar, but after it's done, when I look at the calendar or contacts in my iPhone, nothing has changed. It's simply not syncing with Outlook anymore, even though the status bar at the top of iTunes says it is syncing.

It appears I have solved the issue myself and thought I would share the solution in case anyone runs into this problem.
In Outlook, I only have one profile. However, Outlook somehow had some settings changed where it prompted me for which profile I wanted to use each time I started Outlook (even though I only have one profile). Because it was prompting me to choose when I start Outlook, I am guessing that when iTunes tried to access Outlook, it was also prompting iTunes to choose which profile to use as well. Since iTunes didn't know which profile, it wasn't syncing properly (note, iTunes never asks you which profile you want to use).
To fix this, I went to the control panel, double clicked the mail icon, clicked the button that says "Show Profiles". I highlighted the only profile I have listed in the drop-down menu and checked the box that says "Always use this profile".
I then sync'd iTunes with my phone and the calendar and contacts finally updated!

  • All contacts gone after deleting old Outlook (exchange) mail account from iphone.  How to get contacts back?

I deleted an old company mail account and when doing so it deleted all the contacts on the iphone.  How can I get them back?  Can I do a restore where I import ONLY the contacts?  Or does Restore just overwrite everything?
When I connect my phone with itunes and go to the "Info" tab, it asks me if I want to "Sync Contacts with Outlook" where outlook is a choice from a dropdown menu.  The question I have is what contacts are stored on itunes, if any, and which way it will write them --->  phone to itunes or itunes to phone.  Since my phone contact folder is empty right now, I want to get these back from itunes.  I am hoping those outlook contacts are stored on itunes and can then be downloaded to my phone, but I do not want to do a complete restore as the last time the phone was synced was a long time ago and contacts will be lost.  If the sync writes an empty contacts folder onto itunes then the restore will not even be an option.  Just want to make sure I do not overwrite any contacts that are stored on itunes.
By the way, icloud for contacts was not on so I do not have that route of recovery.
    Help.

Exchange contacts exist only on the Exchange server, and are automatically deleted when the account is remove.  This is standard security policy of Exchange accounts.  They would not have been backed up to iCloud in any event.
