  • Just bought 2 of the iPhone 5's 4 days ago mine worked just fine but my wife's will not conect to the data plan so is unable to get on net or chats unless she is home on the wifi connection what to do? Went to the carrier they sed it's apples issue

They do not have any to give her a dif one so now what

If you have tried a reboot, hold both the power and home buttons until the apple logo appears and it restarts, ignoring the red slider if it appears, and there is not a difference in bahvaior, take the iPhone to an Apple store genius bar and have the techs check it out for replacement.

  • I can't access my company's secure website- on Aventail- from my ipad 2 with Firefox Home.

Firefox home installed fine, but I can't access the secure work website. I have a secure token and the site uses Aventail.

You should be able to use the OpenVPN Connect app running on your iPad to connect your iPad to the VPN directly. It is an official OpenVPN client for iOS devices.
In what way is it "not compatible"? Have you tried it? Tunnelblick is an OpenVPN client, so your school's VPN is using the OpenVPN protocol. That means any OpenVPN client should be able to access it. (It is possible, but unlikely, that your school uses encryption that is not available on the iPad, but that would be very unusual.)
Otherwise, a remote control app on your iPad would let you control your Mac at home. "Back to My Mac", for example, would allow you to control your Mac remotely. The tricky part of this is that usually a VPN is set up to send all Internet traffic via the VPN server, and I'm not sure how that would work with "Back to My Mac".

  • My current open tabs will not synch with Firefox Home

I have Firefox 5 and am trying to sync it with my iPhone using Firefox Home app. I can see my bookmarks and all of that, but it will not sync with my current open tabs. When I first set it up earlier today it synced with the 3 tabs that were open at the time. Now, when I hit refresh, it still shows the 3 original tabs.
Any help would be appreciated. I have tried hitting to refresh button, closing and opening both Firefox and Firefox Home. I also redid the sync and generated a new key. But still my tabs will not refresh.
    Thanks for any help!

Ty for looking into it. My husband went in and figured it out. I guess he is a lil more tech savey then me haha

  • My iPhone 5 won't sync with the Nike Plus sensor

My iPhone 5 won't sync with Ike Plus sensor, new or old.

    Hello bfelix,
You may need to switch 'Nike + iPod' off in your Settings, then re-enabling it. Make sure that the sensor is not in sleep mode (which can be corrected by pressing the small button on the side opposite the Nike and Apple logos). Depending on the age of the sensor, however, the battery may be depleted.
Make sure you have the latest version of... iPhone... software and iTunes installed.
Make sure the sensor is not in sleep mode by using a pen or stylus to press the Sleep/Wake button on your sensor once to wake it up.
On your home screen, tap Settings.
Scroll down and tap the Nike + iPod option.
Disable the Nike + iPod feature and then re-enable it by tapping the On/Off button at the top of the page.
Place the sensor back in the shoe and walk around to activate the sensor as you attempt to relink it to your iPod touch or iPhone 3GS.
If the issue persists and you have access to another sensor, link the new sensor to your iPod touch or iPhone 3GS. If you can link the new sensor to your iPod touch or iPhone, take in your first sensor for service.

The Nike + iPod Sensor's battery is not replaceable or rechargeable and has a life of over a thousand active hours. The sensor has a sophisticated built-in power-management system, allowing the sensor to consume power only when active (that is, when it senses motion).

  • My new iphone 5 email is synched with my home office computer Outlook email using a POP account, but deleting an email on my computer does not delete it on my phone and vice versa.  Is there any way to get a true synch?.

POP does not support synchronization between the server and clients. You will need to use IMAP or Exchange Active Sync if your email provider supports it.

  • IPhone Contacts & Calendars not syncing with mobileme

Apologies if there is a solution to this posted already, I can't find it despite extensive searching!
My iPhone Calendars & Contacts do not sync with MobileMe. I can't find a way of exporting or saving the data on the iPhone and importing it into my desktop iCal & Contacts apps.
I have looked at all troubleshooting help I can find, and all is suggested is deleting/ resetting the phone & syncing from MobileMe. However, if I do this I will lose lots of contacts & calendar entries.
The data will NOT sync from my phone despite following all available instructions. My desktop apps are all set to sync with MobileMe & this works fine, it's just the iPhone data will not transfer to MobileMe.
    Please help!!

Since you are syncing your iPhone with your Mac, it should be syncing your contacts and calendars with your Mac as well (and your bookmarks if you have it set up to sync). You should have Mobile Me setup on your Mac to at least sync your Calendars and Contacts, which should be updating your Mobile Me account. If you want to check to make sure that all of your contacts that are on your iPhone are on your Mac, simply open up the Contacts App. Once you check this, add your Mobile Me account to your iPhone and let it sync your contacts and calendars, it will delete all the contacts and calendars that are currently on your iPhone, but the same data is on your Mac anyways. Once Mobile Me syncs with your iPhone you won't have to worry about it anymore.
If you are having problems where you already setup your Mobile Me account on your iPhone and it's not syncing properly, deleted it, restart your iPhone, then add it again.
    Does this help?

  • "An iPhone has been previously synced with this computer" error on sync

I recently resurrected an old original iPhone to use as an iPod touch (no phone contract) and started syncing it to my home Mac Mini, which is where I sync nearly all of my iPhone 3G data from. I can't honestly say which was the last iPhone to successfully sync, but I just docked my iPhone 3G for the first time in a few weeks and got an error, "An iPhone has been previously synced with this computer". It's only allowing me to either set it up as a new phone, or to restore from either my 2G or 3G iPhone backup.
I don't want to restore; I've added a load of apps, notes, photos, etc since the last archive on that Mac Mini.
NOTE: This home Mac Mini syncs all the iPod content to my 3G. My MacBook Pro syncs the Pictures to the 3G. And all calendar/contact data is synced OTA (over the air).
(I have been regularly syncing/backing up to my MacBook Pro while I've been on the road. So I do have a valid archive on that system.)
I don't understand why I'm getting this error. It's almost as if I can't sync multiple iPhones to the same computer, but AFAIK that's not correct.
I suppose I could move an archive from the MBP over to the Mini and restore from a valid archive, but that seems obtuse.
What would cause this error? I can't update my music/tv/podcasts on here until I get this sorted out… bugger!
    thanks

Thank you for your response will2b but I am looking for a solution for the problem that I cannot sync the same phone with the same computer I have been for a couple of months now. It shouldn't matter that I did not sync my phone for a couple of weeks. I should still be able to sync the same phone to the same computer. This is obviously some kind of software glitch and I am looking for a solution.
    some advice from blacksheepia:
I had been having issues with having good reception in a suburb within close proximity to Los Angeles. Called ATT and they were able to synchronize my phone while I am at home to a closer cell site and that has improved things a great deal. Also I was told that you should turn the phone off at a minimum of once a week and if possible more times to reset it and give it time to rest and cool off. The other thing I have discovered may be the actual way that the phone is constructed. Today I was using it at home in the same room and noticed the bars go down and come up when I changed how I held it. I thought their was no possible way that it could be that simple, but after changing the way I held it 5 times alternating from gripping my whole hand around the back with my palm and just finger gripping from the sides and making sure I was not blocking the back of the phone, well as much as possible, the results were that I had 4 to 5 bars of reception. Now this may seem crazy, but there is a possibility that this could be the cause of bad reception if the antenna is in the back shell of the phone and by blocking it with your palm you could interfere with the reception. Crazy I know, but I have heard of much crazier things with new phones and technology.

  • An iPhone has been previously synced with this computer

When I start iTunes and select my iPhone device, I get the message: "An iPhone has been previously synced with this computer". It's the same phone that I have used on the same computer since I bought it. ITunes is giving me two options, neither of which is acceptable. One is to erase the whole thing and set up the phone as new and the other is to restore the phone from a backup. I don't want to lose all of the data I have acquired since the last backup. Please help. Using Mac Book Air iTunes 10.6.3.

  • My iphone contacts won't sync on my home computer

I sync my iphone at work with the Macbook Pro I use at work. But when I get home, it won't sync with my home Macbook Pro.

And I just tried to sync calendars and that won't work either, same dialog box.  It appears nothing in the "info" section will cross over due to a "sync session in progress."

Close iTunes. On your phone, double tap the Home button to bring up the multi-tasking bar, tap & hold any app until they all start to wiggle & a red minus sign appears. Tap the red minus sign to remove every app shown. Tap Home button when finished. Re-start your Mac, launch iTunes, connect your phone. See if things work now.
