Iphone 4s not receiving texts

Ive got a 4S on contract with three, it was stolen about a month ago, Ive bought a new one online and got a new sim card, but now i cant receive Texts? there is an ecxplenation mark in thought cloud by the battery level? everything else is fine though? Any way of fixing this?

Sorry. That was the only thing I could think of. You might as well try resetting the phone by holding the Home and end buttons until the silve apple appears. It won't hurt and it might help.

IPhone 4 not receiving texts off wifi

Not sure what is going on with texts (specifically iMessages from other peoples' iDevices) not getting to me sent as iMessages, nor texts until my phone is back at home and on wifi? I thought iMessages were supposed to work over cellular data as well?
I've tried figuring this one out from the troubleshooting guides. My phone is set up to send and receive iMessages as well as SMS at my phone number. I can send texts even if I completely turn iMessages off. It's just not receiving texts from people that are on wifi, when I'm off of it... until I get on it, by which time it's usually too late, and I get angry reprimands. Don't feel like getting fired over something like this, just because my phone is messing up and my boss can't get a hold of me...

Iphone 5c not receiving texts

I got an iPhone 5c about a month ago. It's my first smart phone, and it's been giving me issues for a while.
During the first week or so of using it, I was able to receive iMessages as SMS messages, even when I had data turned off and was not connected to wifi. Now, however, I can send texts but I can't receive them unless I'm connected to wifi. This only seems to be a problem with other iPhones. Family members with non-Apple devices can text me when I don't have an internet connection, but I only get the messages from other iPhones when I'm back in a place that has wifi. I turned off data because the phone was using it even when I wasn't doing anything, and I'd rather not keep it on all of the time because of that.
I called Verizon support, and the suggestion was to just turn iMessage off because "it's hard for the phone to switch between Apple and Verizon's servers." I've looked everywhere online for answers, and most everything just suggests either wiping the phone or that texting simply doesn't work without data. I've had a few phones over the years, none of which had any sort of data plan, and I was always able to send and receive text messages.
What should I do about this? At this point I'm honestly just frustrated and considering going back to a regular data-less phone.

I was under the impression that SMS messages do not need cellular data in order to be sent and received. I know they don't use much data, the problem is everything else that seems to use data in the background.
I set it to just go through my phone number as you suggested, so maybe that will help. Thanks!

IPhone 5S not receiving texts and pictures from Android without data on

I have a 4 month old iPhone 5S and for some reason I'm not able to receive texts and photos from my friends who have Android phones. The only time I receive them is when I turn my data on. I have a very limited data plan and I would prefer to only turn it on in the case of an emergency, not to receive texts from friends. As of now, it seems that my phone is perfectly able to send texts to them, I just can't receive them.

IPhone 4 not receiving texts correctly?

I got an iPhone recently this week on Tesco Mobile (basically o2), and I've been noticing an issue. Texts aren't coming through right. Sometimes they come through fine within a matter of seconds of the sender sending them, but more often than not I won't receive any messages unless I switch my phone on and off, in and out of aeroplane mode, text someone or call/am called by someone. It's seriously weird, and very annoying.
At a guess I would assume this is an issue with the handset. Perhaps it is not refreshing the network signal? That would explain why any activity that requires a refresh/use of the signal allows me to suddenly receive texts for a short while again.... It's also worth mentioning I've tried a hard reset already. No change. I'm not really open to the idea of restoring because that's a pain.

Well it seems the problem is focused only where I live, so I'm guessing it may just be an issue with the nearby cell tower. Planning on giving Tesco a bell and I'll see what they say, I guess.

LG Revolution not receiving text messages from iphone user

I am not receiving text messages from iphone user, sporatically. The messages are showing as reveived on Verizon website in usage detail, but not being received on my phone.

This issue needs fixed asap! I have a few suggestions that should help you get this resolved. If they are showing up in the usage details, that means they are hitting the Verizon network, but for some reason they are not showing up on the phone. I recommend clearing the cache from your messaging/text messaging programs. Go to settings> applications> manage apps> all> Messaging/Text Messaging> Force Stop/Clear Cache/Clear Data. Erase the old text threads that you have saved and retry.
If that doesn't work, please let us know the following:
1) Do they come in delayed or not at all?
2) Do you have any 3rd party messaging apps installed?
3) Do they have any problems receiving messages from you?
4) When they're sending messages, are they directly to you, or do you have this problem when the iPhone user sends to a group of people?

My iphone will not receive/send calls or texts when my computer is on? Help?

Recently I've noticed my iphone is having reception problems while I'm in my apartment. I've noticed that when my computer is on, my iphone will not receive or send any texts or calls and has problems connecting to the internet. This is a pretty new development, I've had my phone for years with the same computer and no problems before. Any ideas?

Your computer and iPhone 4 are two seperate elements really using different connections.
i.e your computer will probably use your router to connect to the internet where as your iphone uses your mobile phone carrier to send and receive texts and calls.
So its pretty difficult to judge how they can effect each other. You try resetting your router, but ive never heard of anything like this happening before...

Switched from iphone to galaxy - now not receiving texts from iphone users

Switched from iphone to galaxy for multiple reasons. Still keeping my iPad and wanted to use my iphone for music. Now I am not receiving texts, apparently imessages, from iphone users - there is no notification either way that a message was not received. So iphone users think I have received a text when I haven't. This makes me angry with Apple as there have been medical issues in our family and I have not been receiving important communication. I also have clients I have not received texts from. My understanding is I will have to delete my iphone from my apple account completely, but then will not be able to use it at all for itunes or anything else.

Verizon wiping out old phones would have nothing to do with it. The phone is no longer associated with the number, so wiping the phone would have no effect. It is your Apple ID which is the problem. You have iMessage turned on for your Apple ID. iPhones which have your Apple ID associated with your contact will send texts to your Apple ID, not your phone #. If you have another Apple device which can use iMessage, you could turn off iMessage in that device, but as long as your friends have your Apple ID associated with your contact and you have turned on iMessage in an Apple device and never turned it off before switching from an Apple device to another platform, you will have this problem.
You can bet that Apple will not address the problem, as they don't see it as a problem if someone is using a phone other than an iPhone. Apple expects no one will ever switch away from an iPhone once one has been used. Therefore, no problem for them to address.
The problem lies with Apple wanting their users to go through yet another proprietary interface, iMessage, which the MAJORITY of all smartphone users do not have access.

It appears you have moved from an iPhone to an android phone. The problem you are having is because you did not deactivate your iMessage service before leaving.
If you still have your iPhone, you can re-activate it and then
turn on iMessage in the settings
uncheck your email and phone number
turn off iMessage
Settings>Messages
If you don't have your phone or don't want to go thru the hassle of reactivating it, you can simply call Apple at 800-694-7466 and ask them to turn off your iMessage.

I just got a droid MAXX and I'm not receiving texts from iPhones.

ok so i just switched from an iphone after having 2 for 4 years and i got a motorola droid maxx 2 days ago. i am not receiving texts from iphone users and i dont know why. i gave verizon my phone and so i cant turn off imessage but i cleared the phone before i gave it to them. i have also changed my apple i.d. and i have deactivated all my products such as my mac book pro and my two previous iphones. this is exactly why i switched because apple has to be a CULT and make everything so complicated. please help me solve apples stupidity.

That was a asinine and catty response. I and many others have the same problem. turning off imessage is not an effective solution. I have turned off imessage, deactivated the phone with apple and wiped the phone clean. the problem persists.

On an iPhone your iMessages will go to your phone number.
You can select another email to use on iPod or iPad.
Go to settings
Messages
Send and receive
Check your phone number and uncheck the common Apple ID you share so your messages will not go to other devices.
