IPhone 4s not recognized by iTunes 11 on Window 8

Ran the repair feature on iTunes, nuthin'!
Checked the cord, yep, Charge/Sync cable.
Unplugged, replugged, nuthin'!
Plugged into different USB port, nuthin'!
Removed device from hardware devices and reloaded, nuthin'!
Can still manuever into photo folder, but that's it.
iTunes ran my phone just fine a couple updates ago, but now it won't even recognize it.
Maybe it is time I looked into Amazon's Premium service.
And please, don't give me any Apple Support links, I already tried everything they had that was even close to this problem, and what happened?....nuthin'!!

Just and update....
Tried restarting both the iPhone and iTunes...nuthin'.
Tried with the Virus software off...still nuthin'.
And as for third-party fixes...whose? The Internet is a big place to just go grabbing at straws.
Everything was fine before upgrading to W8.1. I guess this is Microsoft's way at getting "even" with us for...dare I say it?...buying an Apple product!?!
Well, if they'd come out with something that was anywhere near as good, and as easy to use, maybe I would.

  • My iphone is not recognized in itunes for windows

I have followed the directions from apple support.  Uninstalled & reinstalled itunes, everything the page said to do & my phone isn't recognized in iTunes and it comes up as unkown device in windows.  Any suggestions?

If you went through items 1-6 at the bottom of the article and they didn't help then try uninstalling iTunes and all of it's components by following this article exactly: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923 (removing all components in the order specified).  (I know you mentioned that you uninstalled iTunes but I wasn't sure if you followed this article or not.  If not, try it again following this article.)

  • IPhone 4 not recognized by iTunes. Windows 7

    Hi all,
I have read all the forums, my iPhone 4 is just not being recognized in iTunes
I have tried reinstalling iTunes. Gone to device manager, reset mobile service, followed all the apple support pages.
I have updated to the new iTunes and my iPhone isn't even being recognized in device manager, however does charge when I plug it in.
How's anyone faced this before and has solutions? Not just having the same problem.
My only thinking is I am on the previous operating system (4.3.2) because I had battery problems (overheating, rapid drain) and don't want to risk it happening again- it just fixed itself somehow.
I have no idea how to get it to show in iTunes...

to keep tradition, i am going to be the only person replying to this thread.
this is because i have fixed the problem. i changed the cable. simple as that.
i had a read around  - if it is not showing in your on your computer in your devices, then it is your computer / operating system problem.
if it is showing, then it is an itunes problem .
i know that sounds simple, but it made me think about what was my computer doing wrong. my cable was from an old ipod - and must have just worn out.
hope that helps some people - took me half a day but i got there.

  • IPhone 4 not recognized in iTunes for Windows 8.1

I am using Windows 8.1 and the computer recognizes the device but not iTunes. I have tried deleting and re-installing iTunes as well as the device manager, but neither solution has fixed my problem. Any help is appreciated!

To Helpware, THANK YOU for keeping me from throwing out my Iphone and buying something else!
I can confirm that this also works on the Iphone 3GS with Windows 8.1.
Note: just uninstalling and reinstalling Itunes did NOT work for me. As this answer says, you need to unistall the Apple Device Driver too.
    Thank you again!

  • IPhone 5 stuck in recovery mode. Not recognized in iTunes for Windows

    Hi,
My iphone 5 stuck during update to 8.2. It is now frozen in recovery mode, showing a 'connect to itunes' screen. The problem I have is that (the recently upgraded to 12.0.1) itunes is not recognizing my device. I have tried all of the suggestions here: iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch not recognized in iTunes for Windows, to no avail. I have not removed iTunes and reinstalled to test that, as I am concerned this will destroy the backups of my phone - which I will now desperately need once the phone is recovered.
    Has anyone got any suggestions?
    Cheers

  • IPhone 5 not recognized by iTunes 12

    Hello all,
I have an iPhone 5, I'm running iTunes 12.0.1.26 and Yosemite (OS X 10.10.1). Over the last few days, I've noticed that my iPhone is not recognized by iTunes or even Yosemite itself. I have already tried everything in this doc: iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for OS X - Apple Support, to no avail. I've been combing the communities and Google to no avail. Does this mean I need to try a manual restore on the phone? Any other solutions?
    Thanks
