IPhone 4s not showing up under My Computer
When I connect my iPhone to my laptop it will show up under iTunes but not under My Computer. I'm assuming it's some sort of USB driver issue but I can't figure out how to fix it.

Please explain about which Security Lock you mean and what has to be done? It's easy to say it is the Security Lock, but where is this Security Lock located? Is it on the iPhone's settings or the computer's operating system?
What has to be done to this Security Lock to make the iPhone appear in Windows Explorer?
How do you make the iphone appear in Windows 7? You need to be more specific.
I can get the phone to show on iTunes only and not in Windows Explorer at all.

My iPhone is not being recognized under "My Computer"
When I first got my iPhone, I had a Dell. So I synced my phone to that computer. I just got a new iMac, and have switched everything over. My iPod shows up under "My Computer," but my iPhone doesn't. And I first synced my iPod to the Dell. I've been able to sync my phone and my iPod in iTunes and transfer pictures from my phone to my computer with relative ease. I've restarted and reset my phone, but it still does not show up under "My Computer." Do I need to contact Apple Support or is there something else I can do? Or is this really not something to be concerned with?
Hey I need some help please. I just downloaded iTunes 8 and signed up for MobileMe. After doing this I was trying to sync my iPhone in iTunes so I could get the MobileMe app on my phone. However, now my phone isn't being recognized in iTunes. I've tried all the suggestions on the support page except reinstalling iTunes because I'm concerned about losing my music files. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Iphone 5 not showing up in "my computer"
hi.
i've been facing this problem for the past two days. i connect my iphone to my laptop and i wait for the autoplay to pop up, but it doesn't. i manually opened my computer n my device wasn't even shown there. then i opened devices and printers n my iphone was shown in a separate section called "unspecified".
i tried many troubleshoot methods. uninstalled the driver, changed the cord but nothing happens.
like usual, my phone charges, opens up in itunes n im also able to sync.
but im not able to locate my device under my computer to copy the photos n videos. i tried all possible ways. but no solution.
could anyone please help me out with this problem?

IPhone does not show up under devices on my hard drive
I have a MacBook Pro and an iPhone 4. At one time, my iPhone did show up under devices on my hard drive until I did something really stupid and deleted it. It has never shown up since. Any help out there? (It shows up in iTunes just fine.)
Is your iPhone fully charged? If not, it will not upload to PhotoStream, to save energy.

Why does my iPhone 6 not show up in my computer when it's plugged in with the USB cable?

I have an Iphone 6 for about one week now. I would like to view my photos and movies on my laptop (windows 7). But I can't view them because it doesn't show up as a portable device in my computer. When I plug it in I do hear the sound as if any USB would make.
Does anyone know what's going on? Am I doing something wrong?
Thanks a lot!I had the same problem on my Iphone 5. It drove me crazy. I tried reinstalling ITunes and my apple mobile device driver, but nothing solved the problem. I was able to detect my iphone in windows if I went to control panel, then programs and features, found apple mobile device, right click, then click repair. This would allow windows explorer to detect my iphone, but I had to do this every time and it also drove me crazy, After trying everything I could think of, I decided to try and uninstall a program called expresso media. I am not sure where it even came from, but walla, once I uninstalled it my iphone shows up in explorer and iTunes just like it should. Simple but frustrating. Good luck,

I just charged my iPhone on my Windows 7 computer, then my girlfriend came and took the cord I used. I grabbed two cords that were in bad condition because I wanted to sync my phone with iTunes. It did not sync with the computer or iTunes.
I then found a cord that is in perfect condition, checked if it worked on a wall jack -- it did.
I then plugged it in to the same USB port and neither the computer, phone or iTunes reacted in any way. Same for every other port. All of my USB ports currently work with everything else.

My Ipod Touch Gen 5 will not show up in Itunes but it shows up under "My Computer" help!
I have a new Ipod touch gen 5. It shows up under my computer but not under devices in the side bar like it should with Itunes 11. I'm running the latest firmware for my new Itouch and the latest Itunes. I hope I don't have to uninstall my itunes as I have ALOT of music on it. I dont wanna lose it all. I'm running windows 8 and followed the tutorial to a "T" to try to fix the problem but nothing worked. I did everything except the last step. ‘iPad is disabled’ fix without resetting using iTunes
Today I met my match with an iPad that had a passcode entered too many times, resulting in it displaying the message ‘iPad is disabled – Connect to iTunes’. This was a student iPad and since they use Notability for most of their work there was a chance that her files were not all backed up to the cloud. I really wanted to just re-activate the iPad instead of totally resetting it back to our default image.
I reached out to my PLN on Twitter and had some help from a few people through retweets and a couple of clarification tweets. I love that so many are willing to help out so quickly. Through this I also learned that I look like Lt. Riker from Star Trek (thanks @FillineMachine).
Through some trial and error (and a little sheer luck), I was able to reactivate the iPad without loosing any data. Note, this will only work on the computer it last synced with. Here’s how:
1. Configurator is useless in reactivating a locked iPad. You will only be able to completely reformat the iPad using Configurator. If that’s ok with you, go for it – otherwise don’t waste your time trying to figure it out.
2. Open iTunes with the iPad disconnected.
3. Connect the iPad to the computer and wait for it to show up in the devices section in iTunes.
4. Click on the iPad name when it appears and you will be given the option to restore a backup or setup as a new iPad (since it is locked).
5. Click ‘Setup as new iPad’ and then click restore.
6. The iPad will start backing up before it does the full restore and sync. CANCEL THE BACKUP IMMEDIATELY. You do this by clicking the small x in the status window in iTunes.
7. When the backup cancels, it immediately starts syncing – cancel this as well using the same small x in the iTunes status window.
8. The first stage in the restore process unlocks the iPad, you are basically just cancelling out the restore process as soon as it reactivates the iPad.
If done correctly, you will experience no data loss and the result will be a reactivated iPad. I have now tried this with about 5 iPads that were locked identically by students and each time it worked like a charm.

I am unable to see my iPhone in the itunes window. I authorized the computer but it still will not show. Under devices it is not listed. Any suggestions?
You do see the devices heading on the left sidebar? If you don't see the sidebar, go to View>Show sidebar in the iTunes menu and then check to see if the device appears.
If that isn't the problem, go through the troubleshooting steps. It could be the Apple Mobile Device Service issue.

I also recently installed Norton 360, but that was eliminated via Norton Help. They remoted in, removed Norton 360 and problem persisted - iPhone did not show on the "Computer" window, and no pop-up to download photos even with no antivirus installed. Norton help advised to uninstall and reinstall iTunes, which seemed a bit excessive. Any other fixes I can try before an uninstall and reinstall?
Your iPhone is in recoverty mode at the moment so to possibly get it back up and running you would need to do a restore as you have been trying. Follow the steps in the article below for the specific error messages you have been receiving. If after following all steps the issue remains book an appointment at a local Apple Retail Store to have the iPhone evaluated.
