Iphone 4S - Reminders in other language

I am in Brazil, but I use my Iphne in English, but when I open reminders it shows some info in Brazilian Portuguese, does anyone know why this happens?
Here`s a screen shot, where`s written "Lembretes" should be "Reminders", there are other places that is also showing in pt-br, like where`s written "Amanhã" should be "Tomorrow". Thank You!

Go to Settings, under Mail, Contacts, Caldendars. The language follows that of your email account.

  • Does iphone 4S siri understand other languages too?

    I am just curious.
does iphone 4s siri understand Korean?

Not at initial release. Siri will initially be released only in English (localized for US, UK and Australia), French and German. I would imagine Apple will be working on other languages, but there's no way to know when they might add Korean.
    Regards.

Can I read other language webpages on iphone?
Do I need to install other fonts to get it work?

It works fine with Japanese webpages. But iphone doesn't support some other languages. Are there any way I can install it myself?
At this time, no, there is no way you can get the iPhone to display languages which it does not yet support, which includes Arabic, Hebrew, Thai, Vietnamese, Devanagari, etc.
If you would tell people exactly what language you are interested in, it would easier to help you.

  • Two iPhones - one syncs reminders, the other doesn't

I have two iPhones - one is a work-issued phone (an iPhone 5), and the other (a 5S) is my personal phone. I've also got an iPad Air. All of them have the most current iOS (8.1.3). For some reason, the Reminders app on my 5S won't sync with the other devices.
If I create a reminder on my 5, or on my iPad, or on iCloud, it will instantly update on all of those devices. But not on the 5S. If I create a reminder on my 5S, it seems to upload to the others (and, actually, I did it just now and all of a sudden it synced everything else from the other devices).
Any ideas why my 5S won't pull down updates on Reminders?

    Hi David,
Thanks for the reply. I tried what you suggested (I think I've tried that in the past, to varying degrees of success) and once I turned sync back on, it did download the current list of reminders. However, when I created one on the 5, it still hasn't shown up on the 5S, some 15 minutes later (although it immediately showed up on the iPad). I'm puzzled as to why that one phone just won't seem to sync like the others do...

  • IPhone and other languages besides English

    Hi all,
Hope you're enjoying your new iPhones. can you confirm the integration of other languages? I mean besides displaying in email and safari. Can you actually switch the localization of the OS to another language? I'm particularly interested in being able to use an iPhone in Japanese (日本語). Can anybody confirm that it's at least viewable too in browser and email?
    Thanks!

    Can you
actually switch the localization of the OS to another
    language?
I don't have the phone but the reports I've had indicate localization and input are English only for this version.
to use an iPhone in Japanese (日本語). Can anybody
confirm that it's at least viewable too in browser
I have a report that the browser can display Latin, Greek, Russian, Chinese, Japanese, and Korean. Presumably other apps would do the same, but no definite info yet.
Scripts which Tiger can do but iPhone cannot appear to include Vietnamese, Arabic, Hebrew, Thai, Hindi, Tamil.

On my iphone 5, "Reminders" App, Top line says" Erinnerrungen". How do I change this to English..
I have English listed all throughout my iphone.
I tried this for a similar problem:
I've had this problem for months, finally figured out how to fix it!
    Go to https://appleid.apple.com and
enter your Apple ID and password,
then go to Language and Contact Preferences
and type in your correct language.
My Language was set to "English" for "Preferred Language"
    Please help !!!

Since that is German, try going into the phone's settings and change the language to German. Turn off the phone and back on. Then change the language back to English.

  • IPhone 4 Reminders is not working

iPhone 4 Reminders is not working - I can't access my reminders and just get new list screen which does not respond. Have switched phone off and on again, but this does not solve it.

    Hi
    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
    Cheers,

  • Text Messaging in Japanese (or other language with non-Roman script)

Is it possible to send/receive text messages written in non-Roman characters with Verizon?
More specifically, I'm using a Droid 2 with Verizon, and I'm trying to text a friend in Japanese.  She has an iPhone (AT&T), and is physically in the U.S. (so I'm not asking about international text messaging).  I've already installed apps on my Droid (e.g. OpenWNN, or Simeji) to input Japanese, which work fine in and of themselves, and the Droid of course displays Japanese text or other languages just fine on the Browser or in E-mails.
However, I'm having lots of trouble with Text Messaging.  When I send a message containing Japanese text (typed in perfectly fine with OpenWNN or whatever), she either never gets the message, or the text comes out unreadable (as ???????).  Messages with a mix of Roman and non-Roman characters typically show the Roman characters ok, but the non-Roman ones (i.e. Japanese) are garbled.  If she sends me a message containing any non-Roman characters, I generally don't get the message at all (i.e. not even garbled-- just no message at all).   This deficiency seems to be specific to Text Messaging, as far as I can tell.  I can send and receive e-mails containing Japanese just fine, read foreign language web pages, and type in Japanese into search boxes on those web pages and so on with the Droid.  However, sending an e-mail message to (myphone#)@vtext.com, predictably, results in any Japanese text being garbled, though Roman characters come through just fine.
Is this perhaps something specific to Verizon's network?  Or is text messaging in non-Roman scripts just inherently impossible?  My friend says she knows others who can successfully text in non-Roman scripts (e.g. Korean Hangul, Japanese Kana or Kanji), and claims some of these folks are Verizon customers too.  A search on droidforums.com yielded someone who supposedly could text in Korean within Verizon.  So, I'm hoping this is possible, and I'm just missing something. However, this is perhaps all secondhand information and rumor.
(Incidentally, I know for certain that messaging with non-Roman scripts is possible in general.  During my last vacation in Japan, I rented a phone there, and could send messages in English or Japanese scripts.  However, I believe the phones there actually have their own e-mail addresses, and so the service there is more like regular e-mail-- my understanding is that text messaging as we know it in the U.S. is a distinct technology, though I could well be wrong.)
So, to restate my question: is it possible to text message with non-Roman scripts with Verizon?  Has anyone out there done this successfully-- if so what did you do, or what app did you use?  Or is it in fact impossible? (e.g. Maybe text messaging here only uses 7 or 8 bits, instead of 14 or 16 needed to encode all the various Asian, European, and other scripts?)
    Thanks for any help available.

I'm trying to figure this out as well, but my understanding on the matter is that Verizon's CDMA network uses unicode which will display, roman characters, loa, thai, and serveral other languages, but not hirigana, kanji, katakana, or simplified or traditional chinese.  The Romaji should work however.  It would be nice to hear some input from a Verizon rep on the subject, because like you my info is all second hand.
If my understanding is correct, the simple answer is no, it's not possible.

  • Typing in other languages

    Hello,
Is anyone knows how to type in other language, like russian in iphone?
i can see all the Russian symbols when browsing, it even uderstands emails that written in Russian.
So, is there any way I can change keyboard layout to a Russian one?
    Thank you.

I have a lot of Vietnamese contacts in Address Book.
Unfortunately in iPhone contacts, many of the
Vietnamese characters show up as empty squares.
The iPhone does not yet support various languages, including Vietnamese, Arabic, Hebrew, Hindi, Tamil.

  • Messaging in other languages not working

    Hi,
Since the update to iPhone 3.1, I'm unable to select input in other languages when messaging. Every time I hit the "Globe" button, the phone just pops back to the home screen. Anyone has similar experience ?

I'm still able to change languages...have you tried a hard reset yet??
If you turn off all keyboards but English and then maybe hard reset, then add the keyboards back...it may resolve...

  • Dictionaries in other languages and translators

Is Apple planning to make dictionaries in other languages available for iBooks? I think it would be a great way to practice reading in other languages! Either an ordinary dictionary in say, French, or a French to English translation dictionary. That would make me very happy.
And the ability to turn the background black for night reading

I'll have a French dictionary ready in a few days if anyone wants to beta test it.
Assume that is for OS X? I'd be interested (tom at bluesky dot org).
No, for the iPad/iPhone. I need to fix one last transition bug, build an icon, and I'm done.
    I've had a MacOS X version for a long time: http://etresoft.com/etreref.html
(Note: “I may receive some form of compensation, financial or otherwise, from my recommendation or link.” ) The MacOS X dictionaries are free, but there is other stuff there too.
The iPad dictionary will be an expanded version of my Dictionnaire de l'Académie Française 1935. I've improved my cleanup and re-added words removed since the 1835 edition.
