IPhone 4s restarts when editing picture

This only happens to me with one picture that is a screenshot. Everytime I click edit on it, the phone restarts. I'll try and edit a different screenshot or picture, and I won't have any issues. Ive tried taking a screenshot of the screenshot, and the phone still restarts. Ive tried sending it to someone else and deleting the original copy, and the phone still restarts. No matter what I do to create a different copy, the phone still restarts with this one picture regardless of who takes the screenshot of it and sends it to me. Help?

Basic troubleshooting steps clearly outlined in the User Guide are restart, reset, restore from backup, restore as new device.
If you've been through ALL of these steps and you still have problems, then you'll need to bring your phone into Apple for evaluation.

  • IPad restart when edit photo and setting to wallpaper

Ipad restart when edit photo and setting to wallpaper.
took it last week and it got restarted thrice since then.
it happened only when I edit photo

There are several possible causes for the Black Screen issue
    1. Permissions in the Library: Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Include the option to check and repair permissions.
    2. Minor Database corruption: Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild.
    3. A Damaged Photo: Select one of the affected photos in the iPhoto Window and right click on it. From the resulting menu select 'Show File (or 'Show Original File' if that's available). (On iPhoto 11 this option is under the File -> Reveal in Finder.) Will the file open in Preview? If not then the file is damaged. Time to restore from your back up.
    4. A corrupted iPhoto Cache: Trash the com.apple.iPhoto folder from HD/Users/Your Name/Library/ Caches...
    5. A corrupted preference file: Trash the com.apple.iPhoto.plist file from the HD/Users/ Your Name / library / preferences folder. (Remember you'll need to reset your User options afterwards. These include minor settings like the window colour and so on. Note: If you've moved your library you'll need to point iPhoto at it again.)
    If none of these help:
    As a Test:
Hold down the option (or alt) key key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Create Library'
Import a few pics into this new, blank library. Is the Problem repeated there?

Do you receive any error messages?  Without a more specific error messages I would recommend completing the steps listed in Troubleshoot system errors, freezes | Windows | Adobe software - http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/troubleshoot-system-errors-freezes-windows.html.  Please feel free to respond to this thread if you have any questions about the steps listed within the document.

  • Iphone 4 restarts when docked

    Dear all
When I play music from my iphone 4 via a sound system (through a dock) every few moments my phone restarts!
I'm guessing this isn't supposed to happen!?
    Any suggestions?
    Many thanks.

    I have the same problem...
I thought it was something to do with my car not playing it correctly but then I tried it in my friends car and it does the same thing, and his iPhone4 works fine!
Called O2 and they said they would need to send it away to an Apple technician for 10+ days to see what the problem is. Anyone else got any ideas?
Have tried hard-resets, full system resets and is all up-to-date with iOS 4.0.2.

  • IPhone 5 restarts when opening texts

I bought an iPhone 5 on launch day and that same day, my phone restarted itself when opening a text directly from the lock screen. I didn't think much of it then and just went on with it but then within the next three weeks, it happened to my phone three more times. I figured Apple would have me restore my phone before swapping it out for me so I went ahead and did that on my own, before calling Apple's tech support about the issue.
My phone seemed to be working fine, after doing the restore, but then the next day, it did the same restart thing twice, when trying to open texts. So that was six times that it happened to me within a month so I finally called Apple and they told me I'd done everything they would've recommended I do so they went ahead and set up a Genius Bar appointment for me to get it replaced.
The next day, I get my phone replaced by Apple and everything seemed to be working ok after the first few days... But then exactly one week after getting it replaced, it happens again! I've now had the replacement phone for 10 days and it has happened to me three more times.
I've tried searching forums about this issue but haven't found anything so I thought I'd share it with you all, in case any of you have heard anything about this or if it's happened to any of your phones.
And by the way, I originally set up both phones as new phones, when I got them so I know it isn't an issue with an iCloud restore.

I have an iPhone 4 , had it for maybe 4 months and it had started doing the same thing with no rhyme or reason for it , some times it will do it 2 or 3 times in a row other times will not do it at all, it's very disappointing considering this is my first apple devise and it's already got issues , I'm not gonna mess with it, it will be going back to the place of purchase ASAP . This one thread is all I have been able to find about this problem so it seems to me this is a very very rare problem

  • Since upgrading to Snow Leopard Problems when editing picture in Photoshop CS4 - not switching to dedicated space

    Hi,
I'd appreciate your help on this, maybe I just chose a stupid set-up to begin with.
I use spaces and have allocated Space 1 to Lightroom and Space 2 to Photoshop to always have a clear backdrop when switching to Photoshop.
Since upgrading to Snow Leopard, when I choose 'Edit photo in Photoshop', Photoshop (the frame) opens fine in it's correct space, but the picture does not show. When I click on Window and on the respective picture window the picture shows but all reverts to Space 1 and I have the Lightroom window in the background so that I need to extend the Photoshop window to create a less distracting background.
Any idea why this happens or any suggestions for a better set up?
    Thanks heaps
    Claudia

    Claudia
I am running PS CS4 as an external editor for my Lightroom 2.5 installation on a MacBook Pro running Snow Leopard 10.6.1 and I have exactly the same 'Spaces' setup as you (i.e. LR and PS each are in their own space) but I am not experiencing the behaviour you are experiencing.
If it's of any help, you might try fiddling with the window behaviour in PS to see if it changes anything? In the "Window" menu I have selected the "Application Bar" rather than the "Application Frame".

  • No layers available when editing pictures which are developed with LR?

When I edit a copy of a picture out of LR using Photoshop Elements 6.0, I'd like to apply the development settings I've made in LR and use layers in PSE. Why do I get only the option to edit the developed image without layers or edit an undeveloped copy with layers?

I made the following post in another thread and while the specific issue in the OP is not the same the reasons for Lightroom inability to work with layers is related. I suppose a similar question could be asked why can't PS send the layered image back to ACR for further editing there.
Quote "Once again the name Adobe Photoshop Lightroom is confusing the users. This name change came in Beta 3, I believe.
Lightroom is not Photoshop or a plugin for Photoshop, which is a pixel editing program.
Lightroom does not do pixel editing it retains details of image corrections internally in the catalog and in xmp files(optional). Photoshop per say cannot read these corrections.
ACR v 4.x can with respect to raw/dng files provided LR corrections have been saved to xmp, since they share the same processing engine.
If you wish your Lightroom edits to be viewed or usable in image editing programs, you need to export the file from Lightroom as a type of your choice tiff, jpg, psd etc and save in a designated folder. Then the file is usable with any image editing program.
If however your are working with raw/dng files in the develop module of Lightroom you can send these to an external editor, Photoshop or whatever, in this instance Lightroom will save a copy next to the raw original in the format you choose in the preferences. You still end up with a second file same as if you had done an export, just saved in a different location.
Adobe please take the Photoshop out of the Lightroom name." end quote.

  • Locking up when editing picture

I have been trying to edit a picture in iPhoto and my Mac is locking up and I have to shut down the computer to get it working again. What am I doing wrong? I only bought this brand new imac intel about a month ago.

    D:
Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Are you getting a white window in the edit window and the spinning cog wheel going on for ever and ever? That can be a result of insufficient permissions for the file. Try the following:
Setting Permissions for iPhoto Library Folder
Select the iPhoto Library folder and type Command-I.
When the Info window comes up go to the Ownership and Permissions section and make sure You have Read & Write permission and that the Owner and Group have Read & Write also. Others - Read Only.
Then click on the "Apply to enclosed items..." button.
Or download and run BatChmod. Drag your iPhoto Library folder into the File window, set the permissions like in this example and click on apply. See if that will help.

  • Pop up message when editing pictures form Lightroom 5

I think I might know what the answer to this is but I want to just check also, to be safe. I am an automotive photographer and a lot of times when I export pictures I export them 1 at a time but 3 times because I have 3 different brands watermarks I have to attach. So when I do my exporting I set up my folders on my desktop one for each company and when I export I like to drag each into the folder right when they export so they don't get mixed up. Sometimes when I do this i get a error message that pops up which I will attach the image below as (1) i think this is because they aren't completely finished exporting and when i drag them into the folder the file looks like what I will attach as (2).I only get the pop up when i drag and drop them while they look like the second photo icon on my desktop. So my questions are
Does dragging it before it is fulling exported(if thats the issue) affect quality?
Is there a way to make this box disappear from popping up each time?
is there a better way to go about exporting my pictures?
    thanks steve

So when I do my exporting I set up my folders on my desktop one for each company and when I export I like to drag each into the folder right when they export so they don't get mixed up.
Sounds to me like you are doing this in your operating system, and this is the problem. You should not move photos or the folders that contain them in your operating system. To fix this, either move the photos (using your operating system) back to EXACTLY where they were, or re-connect in Lightroom using these instructions: Adobe Lightroom - Find moved or missing files and folders
Better approach, which avoids these problems, is to use keywords or collections in Lightroom to segregate the photos from each company, then export. Since you haven't actually moved the photos, Lightroom is happy, and the export works properly.
