IPhone 4S Safari freezes when switching tabs

Hi.
Mobile Safari in my iPhone 4S freezes when switching tabs. This does not happen every time Safari is running, but it happened one too many already. Safari freezes even if I only have one tab and wanted to create a new one. The app would usually freeze while doing the switch, tho it also froze just before the tabs switch. Has anyone experienced the same? Please help. Thank you.

User troubleshooting after a reset is a restore. First from a backup and if that doesn't help, then as a new device. Remember a restore will delete data from the phone. Make sure you have everything backed up and synced to the computer before attempting the restore. If that does not help, make an appointment with the Apple Genius Bar to check for hardware faults.

1. If you are really on iOS 7.1, you may wish to try upgrading to 8.1.2 which is the latest (basing this on your signature).
2. If updating the phone doesn't help, is this only when you connect to a specific wifi network? Or all wifi networks (including public with no password)? If it is ALL wifi networks, you may have a hardware problem. Genius bar would be the next step.

Possibly faulty charger. The supplied Apple Charger is covered by the iPhone Warranty. Make Genius reservation or set up service and take or send iPhone and Charger to Apple for resolution.

After update to Firefox 25, tabs will "go back" 2 to 3 pages, when switching tabs or exiting full screen.

It happens most frequently when exiting full screen from a video. i.e. youtube, dailymotion, nbc.com - any site with embedded video players.
When exiting full screen, the page skips backwards 2 to 3 pages. And no, I'm not clicking related videos while in full screen the whole time - this is while initiating full screen and exiting full screen, all from the same video page.
This happens less frequently when switching tabs - but if I switch to another tab, then back, the first tab will load the page I was on 2 pages ago.
More info: When this happens, the "forward arrow" is greyed out and the page that that loads is on the "back arrow" list twice - further down the list where it should be, as well as at the very top of the list, as though I had clicked on a link to that page.
This all started immediately upon restarting Firefox after updating to version 25 - no other changes have been made to my computer.

More information: It's related to HTML5 - whenever I fullscreen an HTML5 video, Firefox skips backwards to the most recent HTML5 video before that one, when exiting fullscreen. This last time, it skipped backwards past 4 pages that had no HTML5 content at all, to the one that did.

Post a crash report so we can try and help you.

Firefox unmaximizes itself when switching tabs in task bar

When switching tabs using the windows taskbar during an extended online session spanning multiple tabs and windows, the window will unmaximize itself. Switching tabs using the physical tab works correctly. This only occurs with the "Show tabs preview in the Windows Taskbar" opton enabled. Closing all open firefox windows and restarting firefox is the only fix I have found.

This is expected behavior for the Windows 7 operating system. However when I have Firefox in fill screen mode for a window and hover over the taskbar the preview will show up and the full screen will remain, and I have the same feature selected, weird?

I just installed a 120 GB 330-series Intel SSD in my late-2008 aluminum MacBook and I have experienced the beachball problem on a fresh install of Lion and a fresh install of Mountain Lion. I never saw this behavior with my old Western Digital 500 GB HDD. Does anyone have any suggestions about how to avoid the "freezes" associated with the 330-series SSDs?

The crash report has WebKit all over it; interstingly, when a
user reported installing the Safari 4 Beta recently, all crashing
stopped (that doesn't really make sense to me, but OK).

It may be that the issue is a non-issue with AIR 1.5.1
(versus v1.5), so we'll see. Frustrating, nonetheless, especially
since it is a sporadic issue.

Safari freezes when I click the Share button or when I try to right-click on the URL to copy/paste

The Address bar and Share functions in Safari cause it to crash/freeze when I try to share or copy/paste the URL. Any ideas/solutions?

Might be an incompatible Safari extension or plug-in causing the freeze ...
Try troubleshooting extensions and third party plug-ins.
From your Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Extensions tab. Turn that off if there are any installed. Quit and relaunch Safari to test. If that helped, turn extensions back on then uninstall one a time to test.
If it's not an extensions issue, try troubleshooting third party plug-ins.
Back to Safari > Preferences. This time select the Security tab. Deselect: Allow all other plug-ins. Quit and relaunch Safari to test.
If that made a difference, instructions for troubleshooting plugins here.

Safari freezes when attempting to go back using the wipe function of the magic mouse.

Whenever I wipe a little bit to the side on my magic mous the opened tab starts freezing when attempting to go back.
Restart didn't help and there was no system error Message.

Safari freezes when rotated

If I'm in portrait mode in Safari and I rotate my iphone 4 to landscape mode, Safari will occasionally freeze (about one time out of 5). To restore it, I have to quit Safari, then tap the icon to rerun it. Usually it won't start back up on the first retry - It boots to the Safari screen, but it's blank and is frozen. I knock it down and try again and usually on the second or third try it runs OK again
This freeze occurs intermittently and I can't recreate it. It started a few weeks ago. I thought that installation of 4.3 would help, but it's still there.
I'm assuming that since it has persisted through a firmware change (upgrade to 4.3), it's not going to be helped by a restore, but perhaps I'm wrong. If Safari wasn't a built in program, I'd uninstall and reinstall a fresh copy - any way to do that? Since it glitches when rotated, I also wonder if it's somehow hardware related to that rotation sensor.
Any thoughts would be appreciated. - Frank

I did take it into the Genius bar. They checked it and said they could see numerous Safari freezes - I guess they have a way to read activity and errors. They had no answers for why it would freeze, but gave me a new (refurbished, I'm sure) phone.
So I'll restore and hope the problem doesn't come back in through the software restore.......

IPhone 6 Safari Freezes

Safari freezes quite frequently, either when I'm typing something in a discussion for e.g. or just browsing. I have to press the home key and shut down Safari and relaunch to cure the problem.
It's annoying and also looses the data I was entering prior to the freeze.
Has anyone got any suggestions please on how to solve the issue?

Safari Freezes When Uploading

I'm trying to upload some pictures to an online account I have. When I click the browse button to select pictures, the window to browse my computer disappears and Safari freezes. I can't even force quit it so I have to manually turn off my computer. Any ideas or suggestions?

From your Safari menu bar click Safari / Preferences then select the Security tab. Make sure Java is enabled.
Quit Safari (Command + Q) then relaunch Safari.

If Java was already enabled, go back to the Security tab in Safari / Preferences then click: Show Cookies.
Delete all cookies related to the site you have problems uploading images to.
Relaunch Safari and try again.
If that doesn't help, try resetting Safari from the Safari menu bar. Select the top 7 buttons, click Reset.
Try again.

ITunes Freezing when podcasts tab selected

Since ungrading to iOS 7 when I select the podcast tab on my iPhone 5 iTunes freezes for several minutes sometimes.
This also happens when selecting podcasts to sync.
And all the podcasts sync to the phone even the ones unselected.

I had the same problem, recently I ran ONYX, restarted the iBook and tried iTunes for a podcast download. Being prepared for the freeze...gave it 30 seconds and all the backlogged podcasts started to download just like pre iTunes 7.2. Guess my iTunes is back to normal.

My iPhone 3GS keeps freezing when I lock the keypad

I have a 32gb iPhone 3gs and it regularly freezes when I lock the keypad. It sometimes comes unfrozen after a while (usually a long time) and sometimes doesn't come back at all and I have to reset it. I find that it consistently and nearly 100% of the time freezes when I lock the keypad when I have accidentally left the wifi connection on. Can somebody please help me and tell me how I can fix this issue? when the wi-fi is off it doesn't usually freeze, the problems mainly when the wifi is active. Thanks guys

Try restoring the phone. Do a backup of your data on iTunes by syncing it to iTunes (or right click your iPhone and click backup) and then do a restore by clicking "restore". Do not disconnect the iPhone until it is done. After it is done, iTunes will prompt you if you want to restore from backup. Click your backup and let it run through it's process again. See how that works. It just could be a software issue.
