IPhone 4s self reboot?

Hi, I need some help, my iPhone 4s rebooted its self 20 minutes after I turned it off and started playing my alarm set for 8:30. I was in the process of taking my ACT test at the time so I got kicked out of the test. It was fully charged and lying on top of my calculator touching nothing else when It went off. The calculator was also on the ground. Is this normal for it to randomly reboot?
IPhone 4s
16gb
Verizon
White
(Warranty was expired apple tried to force me into paying 29.99 for a tech to talk to me about it over the phone any assistance would be greatly appreciate . )
Thanks

I'm having the same issue now; a non-functional phone after trying to update to ios6!!!  Tried restoring, rebooting and just continue to get the logo with the plug to itunes!!!!!

  • My iPhone 6+ keeps rebooting after installing iOS 8.3

I have a 128Gb iPhone 6+. When I downloaded and installed iOS 8.3 via WIFI, it went through the usual download sequence and then started continually rebooting. After about 20 or so reboots, I got a white screen with a carrier signal on the top left, a location icon and a grayed-out bluetooth icon and the battery level indicator on the top right, and a curious "information" icon (a letter "i" in a circle) at the bottom right of the screen.
I tried tapping on the "i" but got no response. Then the iPhone went into the reboot cycle again. After several reboot cycles, I got the same white screen again. Then the iPhone again started rebooting and hasn't stopped.
My iPhone 6+ has been problematic since I installed iOS 8.1.2. Several random reboots (about 4 cycles, before the iPhone returned to "normal") and some other issues that I didn't document.
I brought the iPhone to the nearest authorized Apple repair center. They said that they could not find any problem and neither could they duplicate the issue I experienced. They recommended that the next time reboots happened that I should make a video of the error. Also, they recommended that I keep all of the apps updated (which I conscientiously do). So I decided to make a log of all the errors since the iPhone was returned to me.
Here are the entries to my log:
    iPhone 6+ Errors since March 30, 2015

Yeah my is the same. Ive had enough of it now...Its been a week of my phone crashing & apps crashing, camera crashing, call dropping out all the time. I've had enough. Apple have done nothing to help it. Ive an upgrade & myself & my partner are buying samsungs.
    P.S I've downloaded both ios 8 & ios.8.2 straight from my PC.
I have done all of the above & phone is still unstable & crashes apps all the time. Right now as we speak whats app wont work.
Waited to long now...Apple are doing nothing to help anyone anymore. Company is going down the drain fast.

  • Computer Self-Rebooting After 10.6.5 Update

This morning, my computer prompted me to update to 10.6.5. Since then, the computer has self-rebooted twice when idle. I have never run into this behavior before with any version of Mac OS. Any suggestions on what to do at this point would be greatly appreciated.

Well, I may be showing my naivete here, but shouldn't it be free with AppleCare?
Most Original MBPs are beyond the 3 years when AC would still be active, so I didn't think to ask if the MBP was covered under extended AppleCare coverage. Even while covered by AC, I've never had a callback, but I'm sure they'll ask for a credit card number if it does cost, and then you can decide.
As far as SafeBoot is concerned, I may try that next.
No harm trying, and will clear out some caches that may not have been cleaned in awhile.
So far, it has not rebooted itself since the permissions repair.
And another school of thought: don't fix what ain't broke. So you may wish to just run things as they are and if the problem stops, no worries.

  • HT1222 Iphone 5 is rebooting

    Dear Folks,
How can I try to fix my Iphone 5 issues.
1st - My Volume control to get lower volume is not working
2nd - my iphone 5 is rebooting. I have tried to restore a default configuration as well as make a restore factory default.
i have bought in the US however, I am living in Brazil. Is there any way to change for the new one in the apple store? Iphone 5 is still on 1 year warranty.
    thanks,
    ADilson

Basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new).  Try each of these in order until the issue is resolved.
If you need warranty replacement or support from Apple, you must bring the device back to the US.  Warranty and support are only valid in the country of origin.

    Hello,
    I don't think it is a kernel problem but a h/ware problem.
CPU 1 reported an ecache (sram) data parity event,
the fault handling code in 5.9 can't do anything about the
error as it is in a page belonging to a user process so it reboots the box.
The no error found in ecache means that either the
fault handling code displaced the error from the cache or there
wasn't one and you had a transient transport error between the
    cache and the cpu.
I would engage your h/ware support vendor to work out what h/ware component is broken as these things are quite complex, but the score of 95 would (to a h/ware novice like me) point to cpu 1 being the culprit - but check with an expert.

I was updating the software on my iphone4. I got a message saying that it could not update. Now my iphone will not reboot. It only shows a pic to connect to itunes, but nothing is happening when i connect it. How do I fix this?

If you're not a developer then you really should not have upgraded.
I'm unsure how you can fix this as you have already done a back-up on iOS 7 and apple don't support firmware downgrades.

  • IPhone 5C regularly reboot when the device is at sleep.

My device fell of the table last night(pretty hard), did't give much attention afterwards, charged my iPhone and went to sleep. When i woke this morning, the iPhone is really really hot. just the whole morning the iPhone pretty much reboot itself for about 10 times but only at sleep status(when turned on at the main UI it didn't reboot itself. ).
The crash reporter said: bug type: "110", panic(CPU 1 caller address): "Apple Tristar2: could not find system ID: bad IPC message ID".
Right now i just don't wanna restore my iPhone before figuring out what had really happened.  i just don't know whether it is the hardware prob or software's, if you guys has encountered such issue, please give some advice.
    Thx guys!

Haven't come across that issue in particular, but circumstantially, it can certainly be caused by something that happened during the fall.  The only people that would truly know what that crash reported error is are Apple employees or engineers, so if you want to know about it, you might want to contact Apple.  If you want to proceed with figuring out if it's hard ware or software, I would recommend backing up all your data and your logs like that crash reporter, then restoring and seeing if it continues.  If it does not continue, restore from your backup.

I am having the same problem with my ipad air but mine is so severe that it's just rebooting non stop. I guess the battery will die eventually but it has rendered the device useless. I guess I will be taking it back to apple. Very disappointed. Never had an apple product in 20yrs have such a severe problem.

  • IPhone 5 keeps rebooting since iOS 7.1 upgrade

Since upgrading to iOS7.1 about 36-hours ago, my iPhone 5 keeps rebooting itself. I've also noticed that the screen wakes itself up (as if pressing the Home button) as often as every 10-mins.
Anyone else seeing the same/similiair thing?
Any news from Apple about a fix?

Here are the basic troubleshooting steps:
Reset: Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Note: You will not lose any data
    Restore from backup
    Restore as new

  • Iphone 3GS periodically reboots for no reason, help ?

    Hi everyone,
I have a problem with my iPhone 3GS bought 2 years ago in France. (Now i am located in Morocco)
After i updated to 4.1 iphone started to reboot itself periodically for no apparent reason every 5 minutes.
I already tried to restore my iphone, but it doesent seem to help.
    What should i do?
    Thanks in advance!

ok,did you try these steps? restart.reset.restore? but if you say what you restore it than try to call apple support, and one more thing-if you are on 4.1 update to 4.2-because when i have my iPhone on iOS 4.1 i cannot use it because there was issues with battery draining but after i update to 4.2 everything is normal, and i hate the iOS 4.1,try to update hope it will fix that.

If restoring the iPhone as a new device (not using a backup) doesn't fix the problem, then you either have a problem caused by whatever software you used to jailbrake the iPhone, in which case we cannot help you with that problem here, or the iPhone has a hardware problem in which case you'll have to ship it back to a friend or relative in the US to get it serviced.
    Regards.

  • IPhone 3GS keeps rebooting, brand new, never jailbroken

I bought an iPhone 3GS in 2010. Worked perfectly until iOS 5.1, then it started rebooting whenever the SIM-card was in, but worked fine as a iPod Touch whenever the SIM was removed. Also, it needed to be restored after each reboot because iTunes couldn't identify it. I took it to the Apple store (on 5th Ave, if that's any relevant information). The Genius told me it had nothing to do with the software. The phone was broken. He did not specify what exactly was broken, but he offered me a replacement for about 160 USD (that's including tax). I accepted and was happy for my new phone until the same problem occured after just four days of getting the new phone. I'd take it to the store again, but the problem is - I don't actually live in New York. Currently living in Denmark. Brought it to my service provider, and they told me the phone was broken. Called Apple but they couldn't help me, since it was out of warranty.
    TLDR
Had an iPhone 3GS, kept rebooting and had to be restored when SIM-card active. Got it replaced to the exact same model (iPhone 3GS 32 GB), same exact problem. Neither Apple or service provider will help me.
Neither phones had ever been jailbroken or used by anyone else.

Your only option is to bring the phone back to the US for exchange.  Warranty is NOT worldwide.
There really is nothing else we users can do for you.

  • IPhone 3GS keeps rebooting iOS 5

I am at the stage that I am HATING having spent £300 on a phone that messes up every week!
My iPhone was running absolutely bang on on iOS 4.3.3 but like an idiot I decided to update it to 5.0 !
Now that it has been updated it has been running fine for like a week, however last night when I put it on charge it keeps restarting every 3 minutes for no absolute reason!
I switched my phone off and on again and still does the same thing!
I connected my iPhone to iTunes on DFU mode so that I could try to restore it, however no success!
So I went online and checked for new updates, found out that the iOS 5.0.1 was out which could be why Apple is playing with me?
I again connected my iPhone to iTunes and went for the update (my iPhone is still in DFU mode) it downloads most of the iOS 5.0.1 684.9 out of 685.0 MB and gives me an error saying network connection interrupted?! I tried it 4/5 times! Always does the same!
I do not know what to do anymore!
    Please HELP!

Here is a solution I found searching the web. It worked for me so i hope it will help you guys out.
OK.........Finally I found the solution for sim problem with update 5.0.1 and the solution for fixing the iphone 3gs keeps rebooting or keeps restarting after 3-2 minutes?
for fixing the sim issues with update 5.0.1 or the rebooting problem do the following:
    Take the     sim out
enable     the 3G and cellular  date in network     setting
    than     insert the sim back
the     netwok will register your sim via 3G not GSM
than after     3 minutes turn off 3G and cellular  data
congratulation………your problem had been solved?...Im not an expert…but its seems this update 5.0.1…is not suitable for 3GS phones as they have ( special tapfro turning 3g on and off)this update is suitable  for iphone 4?which enable automatically 3G.
The apple should have warn all 3GS phone about that ………not waiting some one not expert like me to solve it out?
Anyway……………have a nice day every one

  • Iphone 3Gs periodicaaly reboots for no reason.

    Good day everyone.
I have a problem with my iPhone 3Gs bought a year ago in Italy. (Now i am located in Moscow)
After i updated to 4.1 iphone started to reboot itself periodicallt for no apparent reason.
It can happen every 5 minutes or he may work all day and not reboot once.
I already tried to restore my iphone, but it doesent seem to help. Both restoring to backup and using it as new iPhone.
I guess the problem is with the battery and power controller or not?...
    What should i do?
Do they have some official service place for iphones here in Moscow.
    Thanks in advance!

Any guess on what is going on with the phone itself?
Since you've already restored as a "new" device, with no change, I definitely suspect a hardware issue. There are no more user troubleshooting steps available.
