Iphone 4S should be unlocked

Last week buy in south Miami BBY an Iphone 4S should be unlocked as directed by the seller. Unfortunately to get my country (Chile) I realized that is blocked by Verizon, try to unlock it through Itunes but was not successful. How should I do to unlock it without having to take the phone to the store?

A check of that IMEI shows that it is SIM locked. http://iphoneimei.info/
Is there a reason that you believe it should be unlocked? If someone sold it to you as being unlocked, then you should contact the seller.

Jailbroken phones cannot be discussed in an Apple forum. If you synced your phone with your computer the texts will be in the backup, so if you restore the backup you may get them back, but with a jailbroken phone it's anybody's guess what will happen.

It it was unlocked by Apple and not by the "factory" in the back room of the store you bought it then updating it will not lock it.

call them, tell them you NEED a new battery installed, and they need to tell you when they can do it. That is their job to help you! Give pushback if necessary.

If unlocked by ATT, then restore iPhone Firmware, this will complete the unlock. iTunes will give you large message box indicating the iPhone is Unlocked. If not unlocked after Restore of Firmware, then you must contact ATT since they are the only ones who can authorize a Real Factory unlock of this iPhone.

You are absolutely WRONG. Apple bears no responsibility in this at all. YOU purchased a STOLEN phone. You are guilty of receiving stolen property at best. The store or person from whom you bought the iPhone should be able to tell you. If not, you can either just try a different carrier's SIM, or perhaps if you call Apple Support they may be able to tell you.

Please upgrade your plan to Web n Walk plus. One of our users on T-Mobile UK had this to report back to us:
T-Mobile UK are in fact port blocking to ensure fair usage on their base Web and Walk Plan. I have upgraded to Web and Walk Plus and as a result the port blocks are lifted and I get a higher data allowance!
We were also recently contacted by T-Mobile UK, who stated the following:
Any smart phone (iphone, android etc) that is bought directly from T-Mobile should be automatically provisioned with Web n Walk plus, if customers have bought a handset sim free then they will need to call customer services and get this added. Verizon would not have unlocked the GSM capabilties of an iPhone if the phone wasn't already active on their network and the customer in good standing with them. So assuming that the iPhone was indeed officially unlocked by Verizon, it should work with any carrier who provides compatible GSM cell technology and appropriate service plans.
And in response to the original question, if the iPhone is officially unlocked, updating iOS should not be a problem, though pvonk's advice is worth considering.

Iphone 3G official O2 Unlock

My iPhone has been unlocked by O2. The message I have received from O2 says to insert a new Sim card and connect to iTunes.
I only want to use a different Sim card when I am traveling abroad and use O2 for the time being in the UK. Does this means I have to connect to iTunes every time I want to change the Sim card?

You need to insert a different SIM to complete the unlocking, so you should do this while you are able easily to connect to iTunes. Once unlocked that should be it - you can swap SIMs as and when you like. If you don't have a different SIM available try borrowing a friend's, just as long as it's not O2.
That said, you should check the following: after unlocking swap SIMs back to O2 and again to another network and if your iPhone asks to be connected to iTunes again then you will have to restore your iPhone to get the unlock to stick. This is not necessary for most people but it happened to me and someone else here recommend doing it. Since then I have not had any problems.

if your phone is legitimately unlocked it will not relock. If you hacked your phone to unlock it, you should disclose this to the potential buyer.

Iphone does NOT store to the SIM at all.
You should be syncing iphone to your computer regularly so all of your contacts should be on your computer in whatever program you have chosen to sync.
