Iphone 4s shows charging, but will not take charge.

My phone suddenly stopped taking a charge.  It shows the battery icon as being in a connected state, however, when it is unplugged from the cable, it has not charged at all.  The scenario is the same with a wall charger and a USB charger.  Now, the phone has died and I have no way of turing it back on.  Any thoughts?

Have you tried another cable?

Battery does not charge from the USB power adapter
Important: Only original iPhone can be charged from a FireWire-based power source. If iPhone is connected to a computer that's turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the battery may drain.
Verify that the outlet being used is working.
Try another USB power adapter if available.
If no other USB power adapter  is available, try connecting to a high-power USB 2.0 port (not a keyboard). The computer must be turned on and not in sleep or standby mode.
Try another USB cable if available.

  • My ipod shuffle will connect to itunes on computer but will not fully charge and will not play songs

My Ipod shuffle was washed in a washing machine but dried completely. Now it will connect to my itunes on my computer but will not completely charge or play songs. Can anyone tell me if this is a lost cause and I should buy a new one or is there hope that I can fix this.

Moisture will cause short circuits, so the battery is being affected.  The audio output is also affected.  You really can't tell if it is completely dry, on the inside.  So, it's possible the current condition will improve if it is left alone to dry out for while longer.  It is also possible that moisture (and short circuits) caused permanent damage.
Since it is recognized in iTunes, you can try doing a Restore (from the shuffle's Summary or Settings tab).
There is nothing else you can do (actively) to fix it, so if you want to have a usable shuffle now, you'll need to get a new one.  You can leave this one alone for a month or so (in a dry well-ventilated location), and try it again.  If it works, you'll have a new shuffle and a backup.

Exactly which password are you inputting? iCloud looks for your AppleID password.

I have a tiscali email account set up on my iPhone it receives emails but will not send - any one had the same issue ?

Of course you can't it is a generic document for use worldwide on every carrier mail service
The link will tell you how to set up with the info you will have received from TalkTalk when they installed your broadband
You just add that info for SMTP settings
    in iPhone
settings>>>>mail contacts a7 calendars>>>chose relevant service (tiscali or TT which ever it is called >>>outgoing mail server
all as decribed in the above document
now read the doc again and follow the instructions once you have established the correct settings from your
    TT documentation

  • Ipod Nano will charge but will not play on dock

    Hi,
My ipod nano (1st Gen) will charge but will not play on my philips DS7550/05 Docking station.
When i phoned Apple support they told me maybe it was because my ipod was not compatable with the Docking station but to follow that up i checked the system requirements and my ipod is perfectly compatable with this docking station.
Other ipods do work on this Dock. I tried resetting my ipod but that did not work. My ipod works fine through headphones, syncs through my computer and charges fine when i plug it into the dock but simply will not play music!
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!!
    Thanks

Not in particular.  The fact that the iPod does not play when connected to any other docks could mean either the 1G Nano does not have the ability to output sound via it's dock connector port or yours in particular has gone bad.

  • My iPod Classic 120GB is clicking and not turning on. It has been charged but does not hold charge. I am not able to restore factory settings. Error code and have tried troubleshooting options without success. Thoughts?

My iPod Classic 120GB makes a clicking noise when syncing with iTunes and will not sync. It will not turn on at this time and has been charged but does not hold the charge. After trying to sync, iTunes states that iPod must be restored. Have tried to do this but not successful, I receive an error code and have done the troubleshooting steps for the error and I am still not able to sync or use my iPod. HELP?

    Hi mafiose15,
Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
Restoring your iPod to factory settings is the best way to try and get it back to working order. You can use the instructions below to restore it:
    How to restore iPod
Verify that you have an active Internet connection, because you may need to download new versions of the iTunes and iPod Software.
Download and install the latest version of iTunes if necessary.
Open iTunes. Connect your iPod to your computer using the USB or FireWire cable that came with your iPod.
After a few moments, your iPod will appear in the Source panel in iTunes.
Select your iPod in the Source panel. You will see information about your iPod appear in the Summary tab of the main iTunes window.
    Click Restore.
If you are using a Mac, you will be asked to enter an administrator’s name and password.
A progress bar will appear on the computer screen, indicating that stage one of the restore process has begun. When this stage is done, iTunes will present one of two messages with instructions specific to the iPod model you are restoring.
Disconnect iPod and connect it to iPod Power Adapter (typically applies to older iPod models).
Leave iPod connected to computer to complete restore (typically applies newer iPod models).
During stage two of the restore process, the iPod displays an Apple logo as well as a progress bar at the bottom of the display. It is critical that the iPod remain connected to the computer or iPod power adapter during this stage.
Note: The progress bar may be difficult to see, because the backlight on the iPod display may be off.
After stage two of the restore process is complete, the iTunes Setup Assistant window will appear. It will ask you to name your iPod and choose your syncing preferences, as it did when you connected your iPod for the first time.
You can find the instructions in this article:

iPhone 4S will not charge. Can see battery icon but does not charge

    Hello Kbeaty531,
The following article provides some good information and useful troubleshooting steps for situations where your iPhone appears to not be charging.
iPhone displays the low-battery image and is unresponsive
If you see the image below, charge the phone with an iPhone USB power adapter for at least 15 minutes.
You should see this image when iPhone begins to charge:
If the screen still displays the low-battery icon, try turning iPhone off and then on again.
If the issue persists, try resetting the iPhone while connected to the iPhone charger.

  • IPhone shows song but will not play

I think this is a 'new' development on my iPhone 5. Noted this AM that several songs (whole albums in some cases, others just random tracks) show on the menu ('greyed out', but visible) with the 'downloading' progress indicator (red circle with square inside) next to them.  If I select the track, it will not play and the phone cycles through the next tracks until it finds one that is available.  On a side note, all affected tracks appear to be music I imported from physical CDs, none of my iTunes purchased content is affected.  I know I have played these tracks as recently as 2 weeks ago, and had not done any upgrades (my home Mac keeps prompting me to install a new iTunes, but I usually resist until it tells me I am required to for some function to work), and I just now upgdated my phone (after noting the problem) to the most recent version.
I am on the road right now and do not have access to the computer I synch my phone with -- so if the solution is to wipe everything clean and start over, I will try that when I am home again (such a PC/Windows way to handle a problem...).  More concerned with WHY, as this is a huge inconvenience. Any help would be appreciated!

    Hello rahulseth,
I would recommend for these symptoms that you delete the song and re download it using this article:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2519
That should resolve any issues with the downloaded file.
    All the best,
    Sterling
