IPhone 4S speaker chooses not to function

Basically I dropped my iPhone 4S in water and immediately took i tout again (within 2 seconds) but it took a bit of water damage. There were a couple of issues but only one remains after drying out - the speaker. When I used it immediately after dropping it, it sounded all crackly and you could tell there was water there, when using Siri - videos, music and apps wouldnt play music out loud and when using the volume buttons on the side, nothing happened. When you watched a video or went on the music app there was no volume slider. Now, after drying out, the speaker works fine when using Siri - but I can't get it to work for anything else, as it chooses not to work, and the slider is still not there. Both the phone speaker and listener bit work, but the one for playing music isn't working.

what do you want us to say? You damaged your phone when you dropped it into water. Phones aren't meant to be immersed.
Either bring your phone to Apple and pay for an out of warranty exchange, or find a 3rd party iPhone repair shop near you.

My iphone 5 speaker is not working and I am out of 1 year warranty. I feel bad to pay for speaker again after spending 700$ on a phone that doesnt last 1.5 year. Is there anything i can do about it. I tried resetting my phone, restarting and all. I believe a lot of customers have this problem - making me believe this is manufacturing fault. The following Knowledge Base article offers up some great recommendations for troubleshooting issues with no sound from the speaker on your iOS device:

Verify that the volume is set to a level you would normally be able to hear.
Ensure that there is nothing plugged in to the headset jack or the dock connector.
If the iPhone is in a protective case, make sure that the speaker port isn't blocked by the case.
Make sure that the speaker and dock port aren't clogged with debris. If necessary, clean it with a clean, small, dry, soft-bristled brush. Carefully and gently brush away any debris.
If an audio issue occurs when using a specific application, try testing other applications to see if the issue persists.
If the iPhone is paired with a Bluetooth headset or car kit:
Try turning off Bluetooth.
If you experience difficulties with the Bluetooth feature, follow these troubleshooting steps.
Restart the iPhone.
If restarting doesn't fix the issue, ensure that your iPhone is updated to the latest version of iOS.

Just to make sure, did you check the mute button on the side of the phone?
If it is not set, can you hear music if you're using the headphones?
If yes, listen to music using your headphones, then unplug and start the music again. If you toggle the volume up and down, can you see the volume slider moving?
Do you get any sound, for example when your phone is ringing?

Basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new). Try each of these in order until the issue is resolved.
If the issue continues, take the device to Apple for evaluation and possible replacement.

IPhone 4s speaker would not work sometimes

I just recently purchased my iPhone 4S and it was brand new in an unopened box. After a few hours of usage, the speaker suddenly didn't work. I tried to make it work by unplugging and plugging in the charger port, and it works. It is continueing to not work several times, is there anything I can do to make this stop?

Oh wow, I forgot how narrow minded people can be. No its not the jailbreak causing it. The problem existed well before the jailbreak, and there are many other people with unjailbroken phones with the exact same audio problem. But. i removed the jailbreak, just for.you. guess what... It's.still doing it. Now would someone be willing to help me out? And don't bother to.suggest restoring it . Been there done that, didn't do anything except waste my time.

I have checked the toggle switch, it is not on mute. Vibrate works but not my ringing tones... and itunes will only play through headphones.
I have had the phone for 24hours, updated and set it last night.
...Restored to factory settings three time ... pulled the headphone plug in and out perhaps 40 times!! (I look rather strange from afar)
I would appreciate any insight.

Basic troubleshooting steps clearly outlined in the User Guide are restart, reset, restore from backup, restore as new device.
If you have been through ALL of the troubleshooting steps and you're still having problems, then you'll need to bring your phone to Apple for investigation.

My iPhone 4S speaker is not work, so when i touch the air play button it gives the option to choose betwen dock connector and headphone , but when i unplug the headphone the volume bar dissapers and i cant hear music sound keyboard sound, etc but i can hear the ringtone when someone calls me my iphone is in ios 6.0 , please help thanks

Speaker Does Not Work when i play music, video o make a call.

When i play my music, video or when i make a call, in my iphone the speaker does not work. I can make a call and have a conversation when i use hand free. When i change sounds in configuration the speaker does work.

I want to my iphone don't send any busy tone to callers when I choose "do not disturb" function in new IOS...We must choose answer type..for example : send busy tone and don't send busy tone.
Additionally iphone must not turn light when incoming calls in "do not disturb function"
Because we don't want disturb but sametime our friends angry to us when they hear busy tone..

All iphone have only one spearker at the bottom. The other isa mic.
This is clearly illustrated in the manual.

HT1937 iphone 4s speaker not working

Hello everyone, I had bought a brand new unlocked iphone 4s at one Apple Store in Miami, Florida. I do not live in the US, so I traveled abroad to deliver the phone. This is a gift for my Dad. After seeting the device and start to use it we realized that the speaker is not working properly. I had reviewed in the web about this trouble and seems to be a common issue.
As you cpuld guess this is a shame to had make the effort to get this device (because it is not cheap) and have this trouble.
Did some one knows a solution for this trouble?
I will appreciate your comments.
It is obvious that due to the fact I am out of the US I will not be able to apply for a replacement, at least now.

Now if you want a properly functioning phone, you'll have to bring the phone to the US (or mail it to someone you know there). This phone will likely cost you MORE now, than had you just purchased it where you live.
