IPhone 4S Speaker Problems

I purchased an iPhone 4s in November 2011.  I am on my third, yes THIRD phone since then.  I have had to send the other two back because the speaker stopped working.  They were each still under the warranty so I could with no problem.  Six months after having my latest phone, it happened again!  My son and I were just sitting on the couch using Voice Memo and one minute I was marveling over the great sound and the next minute it wasn't working.  All I got was this muffled, russling sound.   That's it!  It just stoped working.  I didn't drop it, step on it, throw it, it just stopped working!  I am so frustrated!  I don't think I will be able to return this one, as I'm pretty sure my warranty is up.  I tried rebooting the phone and it worked again for Voice Memo and now I get the muffled sound when I use the spearker on my phone and when taking video.  AAAAHHHHH!!!  Can anyone help me?  This is soooo frustrating!  I cannot believe this is the third time this has happened!  I would appreciate any wisdom you can share as to how to deal with this.  Thank you.

Sorry mate didn't make it clear enough. how could i fix this problem?

my iphone 5 speaker just quit working.  how do i fix this

Assuming all your settings are correct:
    1. Try doing a hard reset:
Press and hold both the Home button and the Sleep/wake button simultaneously for about 15 seconds and release when the Apple logo appears.
    2. If that doesn't solve the issue, backup the device and restore it as new.
    In that case, use: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4137
NB: set up as a NEW device because a software issue will be in the backup. If the issue persists after restoring as new, you should offer the device for service.
If you get specific error messages/codes in iTunes when updating/restoring, check this: http://support.apple.com/kb/ts3694 for causes and solutions
    Good luck

  • IPhone 3G speaker problem

When ever I tried using the speaker phone, it gives me a loud sharp buzzing sound from the speaker and restarted my phone. Tried restore my iphone but still not working.
I can listen to songs using the speaker without problems. Only that whenever I made a call and touch that speaker, it just give you a loud buzzing sound and restarted it.

well, when the sound starts buzzing (cracking some sort), the phone will eventually asked me to re-enter my sim unlocked code. Sometimes it just asked me to re-enter again and again without successfully getting any service from my telco. Eventually I hold the on/off button on top and slide to power off.

  • IPhone 5 speaker problem

I fixed the problem with the speaker by inserting earphones in and quickly taking them out and then blowing air forcefully into the speaker. During the process play music. It started working immediately (I could hear music playing) but stopped working in a minute or so. I repeated the process and the speaker started working again for another minute. Then it stopped working.  This proves that the problem is mechanical (with hardware). The speakers apparently are too sensitive to either dust or moisture in the air or something else.
Would be interesting to find out if the above method fixed your problem too.

It's under warranty, why in the world would you try to fix it yourself.
There are no legitimate sources for iPhone parts. Apple does not sell parts.
Take it into any Apple Store in the US and let them have a look at it.

  • IPhone left speaker problem

I just got passed down an iPhone 4 that was bought in the end of 2010, and I have a major sound problem. For some reason, the left side, (left speaker/left headphone) hasn't been working. I'm not sure what it is, and yes I've tried the left and right accessibility, and restoring and resseting settings but nothing changes. Is there any way I can fix this?

All iphones have one and only one speaker at the bottom.  The other is a mic.
If the headphones are effected, then try a different set.

  • IPhone external speaker problem

My 3g phone continues to cut out (sound). The ringer won't ring, no sound at all, then it will come back... Tried rebooting/resetting and nothing works. Anyone else have this trouble?

You could also try a restore in iTunes, but it sounds (no pun intended) like a hardware problem, so I'd recommend a visit to an Apple Store or a call to AppleCare.

i recently buy an apple iphone 4s.the problem is that when i started music player on my iphone the speaker is not outputting the sound.and when i lock the phone at the same time the sound starts.thos problem is from last 3 days.and i am really confused???

Basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new).  Try each of these in order until the issue is resolved.
If the issue continues, take the device to Apple for evaluation and possible replacement.

  • Help - problem with white iphone 4 speaker

Hi, i have a problem with my white iphone 4 speaker. I know the specs stated that the mic is supposed to be on the left and the right is the speaker but i've compared at least 2 other black iphones 4s and there is some volume from the left side (if you close the right side) whereas mine is practically non-existent. Should i be concerned? Is this specific to the white iphone 4? The local telco has not been helpful - they can only reformat the phone and said that this is a software problem. Anyone with similar experience pls share. Thanks in advance.

You already know the answer.  ALL iphones, every single one of them, have but one speaker at the bottom.  You have NO ISSUE at all with your speakers.  None.  Nothing is wrong.  At all.  No problem.  None.

iPhone 5 sound problem: my iPhone 5 noise is only coming out thru the ear speaker and will not come out of any of the other speakers on my phone i say again it will ONLY come out my ear speaker it does it in games and in videos in music in everything! Ive reset the phone and went thru all the settings and everything to try to fix with no luck at all please help me!

fdisk formated and reinstaled windows 3 times. fresh install each time i installed a sound card. so I dont think lingering drivers is the problem which also means dx9 has been installed fresh each time.also I have been dealing with this for nearly a month and I am at a loss.

My iPhone 4S speaker suddently doesn't work properly from one week ago? How I can do? 4s is still under warranty?

Have you tried any troubleshooting steps, like resetting you iPhone, for example?  Or restoring it?
If not by all means do so because your problem could be caused by software glitches that could be solved resetting or restoring.
Warranty is for one year from date of purchase and two years if you bought Apple Care at the time of purchase. If your iPhone has a hardware issue within warranty, it would be replaced by Apple.  If it is already out of warranty, you might be eligible for an out of warranty replacement where you pay a much lower amount but this varies according to the country and currency, so it is better to check with Apple or with an authorized reseller.

  • Iphone 5 speaker is not working

    Hi
My iphone 5 speaker is not working and I am out of 1 year warranty. I feel bad to pay for speaker again after spending 700$ on a phone that doesnt last 1.5 year. Is there anything i can do about it. I tried resetting my phone, restarting and all. I believe a lot of customers have this problem - making me believe this is manufacturing fault. I know i can pay 60 bucks to get a new speaker; but is there anything Apple can do? should I do anything at all?
    thanks
    Mc

    Hello there, mcMlast.
The following Knowledge Base article offers up some great recommendations for troubleshooting issues with no sound from the speaker on your iOS device:
iPhone: No sound or distorted sound from speaker
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts5180
Verify that the volume is set to a level you would normally be able to hear.
Ensure that there is nothing plugged in to the headset jack or the dock connector.
If the iPhone is in a protective case, make sure that the speaker port isn't blocked by the case.
Make sure that the speaker and dock port aren't clogged with debris. If necessary, clean it with a clean, small, dry, soft-bristled brush. Carefully and gently brush away any debris.
If an audio issue occurs when using a specific application, try testing other applications to see if the issue persists.
If the iPhone is paired with a Bluetooth headset or car kit:
    Try turning off Bluetooth.
If you experience difficulties with the Bluetooth feature, follow these troubleshooting steps.
    Restart the iPhone.
If restarting doesn't fix the issue, ensure that your iPhone is updated to the latest version of iOS.
If the issue is not resolved, please  contact Apple Support.
